Evina:
Nice one. Please what is your location? I know someone who is a good fit for the job, but location is key.
I'm in the north. Please let your candidate apply and state his preferred location. You never know how it turns out. there are instances where all applicants fora particular location don't make it while successful candidates may be in excess in another location. The vacancy will be offered to the successful ones and if they are interested will be absorbed.

TheeRevelation:
Thanks. I'm really interested in the Asset custodian role. A friend of mine was absorbed for that role late last year and posted to one of the south western region.

I have applied though and pray I get called.
[quote author=TheeRevelation post=31447076]If you meet the minimum requirement for employment you will be called. Prepare well for the test, its in SHL format and that's where many candidates fail. Good that you have indicated interest, let commitment follow and you'll be good at the end. I sincerely wish you the best.

Jorussia:
please, throw more light on the asset custodian.
The asset custodian serves as back up to the head service support. Its similar to "cash officer" function as in other banks though he does more here. He's a vault/ATM custodian and monitors condition and functionality of all bank's assets in his location as well as keep records of all asset movements. He sits-in in the absence of the head service support. He also does clearing and also back office FT transactions. This isn't exhaustive but is basically what the role entails. Regards.

Nature129:
I applied for "Teller" last week on their website but I haven't heard from them. But some posts I read from a thread on Nairaland say they had their tests last Saturday, so I wish to know: Should I go ahead to apply for another position, say personal banker, as advertised here or wait/hope to get invited for the one I've already applied for? Thanks.
Hi, I hope you're not being sarcastic with that first sentence because tellers are outsourced from consultants ICSL and RIL and not employed directly by the bank. Please go through them if you want tellering job. The tests for all advertised roles have been on since last year. The intention is to absorb all eligible outsourced staff to fill the vacant roles before extending to applicants from the market. Also you may apply for more than one job function in more than one location. but don't apply for same job function twice please. The recruitment exercise is genuine because I have a vacancy for Asset Custodian in my location for over 2yrs now with no one to fill. I honestly hope someone is able to take that space this year. You may wish to take your chance. Good luck.

ToyozzieTohBad:
HMMMMM I DONT BELIEVE IT
While there was actually a clash between soldiers and BH around Damaturu since Friday, the askira attack is an isolated one that occurred yesterday. that they were tryng to penetrate Damaturu thru Askira is absurd. The two towns are way apart and one will have to travel thru many other towns and LGs before reaching Damaturu from Askira. Maybe the story meant Maiduguri. So u right not to believe the story.
Politics › Re: Military Troops Launch Offensive Against Boko Haram In Baga by 18wheeler: 9:14am On Jan 10, 2015
Except the offensive commenced this morning, I find this story hard to believe. I traveled from maiduguri to kaduna yesterday with 2 fleeing soldiers from baga. No single soldier remained there after last Saturday's attack on their base. Those who. couldnt get to maiduguri fled to monguno, some abandoning their rifles and even uniforms. Now that's a terrible thing to hear and I feel sorry for the situation of things. But telling us they are on the offensive in baga is unbelievable at this moment, when as at Wednesday the boys went back and finished what they remained last week. When were they troops mobilized and deployed with their slow response record when we know for sure that as at yesterday morning Baga town was fully under BH control. I think the media will get better info on the real situation if they can meet any soldier that witnessed the attack live and survived.
Politics › Re: BREAKING NEWS: Boko Haram Again! Damaturu Under Terror Siege!!! by 18wheeler: 11:26pm On Jan 09, 2015
This attack started early in the day. I passed through Damaturu at about 11am today on my way from Maiduguri to Kaduna. I got info from an army personnel that an attack was on going then somewhere in the outskirts of the town, to the southeast. It was a supposed retaliation to a raid by the army on one bh camp 3days ago. They have decided to take it to the heart of town. Really all this is about taking back Maiduguri city, the bedrock of the insurgency. Sad to say, its somewhat being achieved. Almost all towns (LGs) surrounding Maiduguri are under bh control. Damaturu is one of the key remaining towns and then bh would have totally encircled maiduguri. As it is, Damaturu road is the only accessible route linking maiduguri to the outside world. All others have been closed due to bh attacks.
Politics › Re: 18 Female Soldiers Feared Kidnapped In Baga by 18wheeler: 7:34pm On Jan 05, 2015
About a week before Christmas I saw a text message supposedly sent by an army personnel who witnessed about 6 boats moving in the early hours of that day from Chad to the Nigerian end of the lake, then dropping boxes of ammunition. Then another group loaded the boxes into hilux vans and drove in different directions. Suspected destinations are Baga and Dikwa towns. It was to be a kind of intelligence alert to the military headquarters which was circulated among key commanders. I can bet that that movement was in preparation for this attack. One can only wonder where the next target will be.

Nairaland General › Re: My Ordeal With Nigeria Immigration Officers by 18wheeler: 10:24am On Dec 30, 2014
Its what we face here in Maiduguri daily. They do not even accept drivers licence, only national ID, students ID, and sometimes employment ID. Else, you drop cash (between 300 and 500 naira. One once rejected my staff ID of a reputable bank that even pays his monthly salaries as I got to find out. Its really a pathetic situation we find ourselves in this country.

Why do they always plan their strike in December.
Help me ask them. Since the usual artificial December fuel scarcity no longer works, they must find a way to squeeze our necks during the year end travel season. Good as their cause is, the timing is suspicious. My thoughts though.

Goldenboy007:
What i can only deduce from your tales is that you are not in charge of your home. Work on those things you lack first then you can correct your wife. No two marriages are the same so nobody can give you a perfect advice. It's bad that your wife is sleeping around, it's a taboo that she came to tell you and dares you to react. You have lost that substance that makes you a husband, that marriage is almost finished and that's the truth! You are only here to tell us because it seems you are the loser if you let her go. That is possible if she is the one housing and feeding you! Salvage what is left of your pride and move out except you know you can't survive on your own. You are not the first to cheat on your wife so that's an excuse you give yourself to feel better! Be a man, find your level..if you are important she will look for you.
I feel you bro.

I didn't teach her. I couldn't. I was impatient with her silly and repeated mistakes eventhough its auto tranny. got my younger bro to teach her. He's a more experienced driver than me and is patient with her being 'big bro's wife'. surprisingly, over 12 months driving all alone she hasn't bashed the car even once. Even myself haven't that record.

ZUBY77: In a bid to resolve the subscription, I have decided to take the suggestions of many users which is to lower the payment to 200 a month. I know this may still be high for some people since all fingers are not equal but i personally think it is a fair price.

However, to curb the number of payments and activation activities on both sides, i will only accept 3 months payments and above.
As of now, i have only 3 and 6 months subscriptions available.

3 months is only for Nigerian Residents. Any runner outside Nigeria must have to pay for atleast 6 months or ask for a special arrangement.

I also created a RECHARGE CARD Subscribers group.
Any user willing to subscribe through recharge card will have to send 1000 Recharge card.
That is only for three months and must ask for permission before sending it.

For those who subscribed already, i decided to make you happy as well.
Afterall i made it clear from the beginning that it wasn't about the profit.

Those who paid for one month Were all given another one month for free.

Those who paid for two months were given one month and one week free while the three months subscribers were given 2 months extra for free, depending on the method of payment.

The new price list therefore is;

3 Months - 600 Naira.

6 Months - 1000 or 7.5 Dollars or 6 Euros or 3.5 Pounds.

Seasons 8 and 9 are still closed.

Instead of Season 10, i decided to start the Story of Maria, which is also a masterpiece.

Some very powerful investigations on the kidnapping case are still going on and hopefully, will be over before the Maria Story ends.
Then we will start the Season 10 of Life on the Run.

The firsT few Chapters of Maria's will be open but will be closed for subscribers as well.

If you have more suggestions, on how to improve the entire system, you are welcomed to do that politely.

Our contact remains (+234) 08162894984

-Thanks.
I like your calmness and maturity z

Education › Re: Why You Must Finish With At Least A 2.1 by 18wheeler:
I remember passing the aptitude test for chartered bank in 2005 and asked by the interviewer..." how come you passed and 2:1 candidates failed?" and I arrogantly and ignorantly answered " its aptitude and I have it with my 2:2."
I think its just that emphasis on certificates has become prevalent in 9ja and employers have to adopt new standards for employment by adjusting such that 2:1today is rated as equivalent to 2:2 of last 15yrs to curb employment expenses and having to deal with large crowd. If only the employers will give everyone the chance to prove his/her aptitude towards the job, one'll be surprised how much quality one can get from the lot of graduates without 1st or 2:1 class.
I may.just have been lucky that I graduated when I did but not undermining some quality we still got.today. Hope things improve generally.
