Just like I said in my earlier post, I don't know much about the public sector If there is still anything called gratuity however, in the private sector once the insurance company has paid the death benefit to the beneficiary who happens to be the wife in this case, the other lump sum the wife is entitled to is the pension of the deceased husband. I think the problem is, she keeps substituting the terminologies for one another . The same thing she is calling death benefit is the same thing as insurance benefit.

I think you are right. The insurance is the death benefit as I know it. It’s independent of the accrued pension which will be paid by the pension administrator. If the employer isn’t subscribed to the pension scheme, then the next of kin can claim the accrued pension from the employer separate from the insurance.

My car does average of 27miles per gallon. That’s how it reads for me. Converting to metric figures will give roughly 11km/ltr.

The soul is supposed to take people who’ve died to an afterlife - an equally imaginary concept..but an extremely powerful and compelling one in psychological terms to vast numbers of people - and the imaginary devil is supposed to look after the imaginary hell..something used to frighten people who haven’t obeyed the dogma of the religion concerned back to being faithful...

There’s absolutely zero evidence to support either the concept of a soul or a devil (or a heaven or an afterlife) and a vast amount of evidence to show that the concepts are entirely man-made.
The idea of selling your soul is nothing but pure superstition...

This is ridiculous and absurd. He couldn’t as little as verify the culprit’s details before coming to the public to make statements as a spokesperson for a critical institution. The culprit is Michika from northern part of Adamawa state. That is inconsequential btw, he killed a human in the most unbelievable circumstance and that’s what matters now and not his being nice or not. We won’t be carried away by these antics. Justice needs to be served. Every criminal was once a nice person, the police can release all detainees in their custody on that basis if we are to believe mr. spokesperson.

You are very right @bolded. I’ve not left my house since Tuesday when I spent hours on fuel queue and still didn’t get. Had to take 10ltr @ 320/ltr to get me home. Parked the car until I’m mentally and physically ready to go search for fuel. I won’t kill my self. I only pity those who have to go out daily in search of bread. This country….

True. The wickedness is manifest in the acts of hoarders. People have speculated there’s going to be food shortage and instead of making effort to make things easy they go hoarding food stuffs thereby adding to the shortage in the markets. I know one that took a loan @ 18% interest to buy beans and store. He envisages making over 40% gain on it by 2nd quarter of 2023. He is already adding to the scarcity during harvest and will hit the market with high price when the commodity gets more scarce next year. Why won’t food be expensive?

Taking a week off to the village. Will go fully local. Local foods, local drinks, local trips like sh*tting in the bush (behind shrubs in those burnt farms after harvest) and bathing in the stream, sleeping on mat under thatched roof, relaxing during the day under the big mango tree in the middle of the family compound. I will gift myself a week away from city life.
