ayobase what I like most about your submission is your post count, pls dont post for a little bit  wink

cuteblackG yeah youre right it's a pity naijas dont 'preciate what's theirs, but its an even greater pity our 'leaders' seem never to 'preciate we're one of the world's largest oil producing nations. . . just to mention a fraction of our national natural belongings and resource endowments. We know we've got it, but yet we've got nought!

CareerRe: What To Do?: Move To Nigeria Or Not?: Help! by 1forall(mod): 12:05pm On Sep 23, 2009
Yeah Kenny G's right, I think such a move at this point in your (as you've written) life and that of Naija is not a necessary one even though you've always wanted it. Yeah there's a bunch of people who live like some poster declared but they're just a bunch and I believe they consider themselves lucky.
My bro's got a fab job in Ikoyi, fat pay, official cars. . . but not after 15+ years work experience in the UK. And he's 40+ right now. I dont think he'd have been able to clinch it if he moved back here a decade earlier.
I think you should relax and build up your CV with work experience and qualifications while keeping your eye on the ball (moving to Nigeria). Dont even be in a hurry to.
But make sure you visit Naija often enough to know the goings on in your area of specialization and establishing contacts relevant to your cause while making new ones too. Once youre not totally out of touch with 'home', you'd learn about the opportunities available and also what may be required of you.
Bottom line, what you want is a long term process that requires a strategy. . . long-term planning, patience, conscientious execution, and prayer. But it  is achievable if that's what you want.
Good luck!

I think what's ludicrous is that its coming from a user named purestboy huh
The name is just funny, even VK employees joke that their airline's been disvirgined.

TravelRe: Virgin Nigeria Airways Now Nigerian Eagle Airlines by 1forall:
cassytoons:
@ all posters with negative feedbacks

. . . I kinda understand cos its all caused by the ASUU strike ,
But at least lets still be logical,
of all that has left negative feedbacks lets take a quick survey (1) - How many have seen a plane on the tarmac talkless of fly in one huh
(2) How many work in the transport not to talk of the aviation sector huh? (3) How many are frequent flyers huh? (4) How many are conversant with the regulations guiding aviation sectors huh?
Now cassytoons, you may not like this but I think you got it rather wrong there. . . you read like you're not really in touch with goings on in naijas aviation. Read any news about Bi-Courtney and its incredible concessions lately?
And its quite off to assume stuff you read on NL are ASUU strike induced.
As for your 'quick' survey, u tink say na privilege to enter plane? . . . to work in aviation no be salvation o!

TravelRe: Virgin Nigeria Airways Now Nigerian Eagle Airlines by 1forall: 11:38pm On Sep 20, 2009
I wish the airline the best in all it undertakes. Just that knowing naija and our ways, these things usually dont end up like they say in the beginning. At least
dejiolowe:
at this time, the virginnigeria.com website should be redirecting to a new domain but sadly, nothing. I don't know if the Nigerian Eagle Airline knows what it takes to rebrand,
Isnt that amazing?!

CareerRe: Between Skye And Virgin: Which Is Best? by 1forall(mod): 8:36am On Sep 20, 2009
Poster: You havent responded to the thread since you started it.
And debetmx is right, Virgin's got some issues and is currently re-branding.
I'd say make no mistake of joining Virgin when you have an option. Virgin may retain depending on your area of specialization but their pay is no where near what you'll get if Skye retains you.

I see. Then I guess you should be working towards your next trip here to further push things the way you'd like. Its a comparatively hostile environment and you get what you want by 'claiming' it.
