Applied 2Sep with my family, got back our passports yesterday with our visas (approved 30 Sep).

This is a disgrace to Nairaland front page.

I have worked in 4 different countries in the last 10 years, India, South Africa, Malaysia and Lithuania. I do my job, when my contract ends, I pack my bags and dust my most beloved Green Passport and return to Nigeria to rest, reset and wait for the next contract.
The joy, peace, freedom I have in my home in Ibadan, Nigeria, is second to none.

It is dodgy if they contact the bank and expect to be given details about the accounts. In most countries it is strictly forbidden for banks to give any details about the accounts to any person, except the owner. They do not even tell a third party if someone has an account with them or not. DHA is completely unprofessional here...


I even know another person from my bank who submitted a statement from a bank that was not even in English, not translated, no signature, no stamp, and visa was approved! While anothe person, with the statement from the same bank, translated, signed and stamped on every page, with reference letter...was rejected! These people are a disgrace...

Please don’t make pronouncements on what you not 100% certain of. Phd and masters by research is free at DUT. It used to be free at UKZN too until a few years ago. I finished my PhD at DUT in 2021 and I’m currently holding a Postdoc position there. Although there’s a price stated in the students’ handbook but once you get a supervisor and the school admits you, the fees are waived during registration. The only caveat is that you have a specific period of time within which you must complete your study. Beyond that time, no more waivers.
