Custom ROM addicts go dey say MIUI too dull or pure Android dey boring but ironically the same person go flash & manage ROM with major bugs like no Bluetooth driver, dysfunctional FP scanner etc just coz na custom ROM

Settings > Manage Apps > Facebook (as example) > Notifications > All > toggle sound OFF or tweak as desired.

Using this method you've described he can actually set customized notification sounds to the respective apps. This is a basic Android feature.

People should learn to play around their device toggles & settings to discover things for themselves

That's the thing with the rom flashing folks. No matter how perfect a particular rom is they'll always have the urge to flash another, and start finding faults with the one they've on.

This is a contentious issue on gaming forums. The gaming heads can swear with their pads that no true gamer can withstand the miniature, scaled down mobile version of games.

I don't mind light gaming on mobile though

It is official. The news came from their president. Lei Jun said they will be focusing on the Mi Series, Redmi Series, Mi Mix Series, and the New Cc series.

It's not explicitly stated that it's discontinued. That's just gizchina's take.

They've have not been "discontinued". Just halted for the meantime and may be reviewed/rebranded.

The Max will definitely make a comeback, unlike the mi note whose market has been encroached on by the K, Redmi, & Mi lite series

@Babaheekmat if the above fails then you probably are not receiving system ads, but the culprit will most likely be a malicious app you've installed

I even off data for the apps I noticed the ads keep popping up

Open the settings of all system apps and disable "recommendations".

In fact any where you see that word recommendations just off it

It'll interest you to know that even settings have recommendations (see the screenshot how to disable that)

Then restart your phone let's see

Oh my bad. They've integrated it into the MIUI Settings menu. It used to be an app.

Search Mi Mover in your settings or open settings>additional settings> scroll to the button then open Mi Mover

It's pretty straightforward. Just open the Mi Mover app on both phones, the tutorial will walk you thru, then they'll connect via wifi & proceed with the transfer.

Its as simple as sending stuff via xender. But in this case everything moves (based on what you selected) i.e. Your contacts, app settings, calls log, messages, pictures and other media files etc

I think app settings. I can't quite recall if the entire app moves too but it does restore your app settings the way they were in your old device.

Xender or Mi Drop can easily move the whole app if that option is not there

Modified: It includes apps but depends on the app. Some apps and their contents may have restrictions. Read the mi mover FAQ

I haven't started using it yet.... But the samples I handled at pointek was wow.... As soon as I copy my files to my system I would officially launch the fone for use

If you're switching from one Xiaomi phone to another just open the Mi Mover app on both phones and seat back, relax and watch it do its work. All your stuff will be intact the way they were on your old gadget.
