Tudor. Are you no longer an atheist? Which good Lord are you refering to here? Confused man (woman). You should not be posting on issues that require some level of spritual understanding/knowledge. grin
If you at least apply some of your so called spiritual understanding you'd know that it was in reply to this post.

Sigh!!!

That is the problem I have with arguing things such as these with folks who do not even understand what it is all about? Are you going to tell me next that my God is all in my mind?

Again, there is cajoling people into doing things out of flattery and making up stories, and then there is this. Like I have said over and over now, I attend this church. I know that the concept is NOT unbiblical, and I know that these people do it of their own accord and not FORCED or FALSELY DECIEVED into doing this by anyone but their own minds. They all have access to a copy of the Bible and are mostly educated enough to read and understand if they are being lied to in anyway. So I am not sure what you are going on about, only that now I see I am arguing in vain and will choose RIGHT NOW to QUIT. grin

Pastor E. A. Adeboye

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981.  Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.

God took RCCG to greater glory with the birth of the Holy Ghost Services, which started in the late 80s. It is a service of intense worship and manifestation of signs and wonders. 1998 saw the birth of the annual Holy Ghost Festival. Billed Lekki ’98, an estimated 4 million people gathered to fellowship, praise and pray during an all night service. It is conceivably the largest gathering of Christians in the world.

As Pastor Adeboye frequently testifies, the Lord has just started with RCCG.  In his own words, “We are believing the Almighty God that very soon, in every town, in every village all over the world, there would be a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God established where people could be saved, discipled and trained in the fear of the Lord. So that on the last day, we would have people of all races, from all tribes, from all tongues, praising the Almighty God who had been brought in the Kingdom of God on the Platform of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.”

His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS THE GREAT MAN OF GOD!! THE CHURCH IS MOVING ON AND THE GATE OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL!!

this is the problem with this country. instead of the esteemed pastor to form a club 1 million, where members will endeavor to pay the tuition fees of one million indigent kids in naija, na how to get 1 thousand people to give 1 million WHENEVER the Lord needs it. lets suppose for the sake of argument, 'the Lord' speaks to Adeboye three times a month, so you mean he will get three million from each of these club members? methinks these days, the Word of God has been so commercialised. just think that over 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ and his Apostles were able to preach the word of God using their feet and donkeys or horse drawn chariots. now Adeboye needs a private Jet and billions of naira? i feel sorry for the poor misguided fools who fall for this obvious sham. there is absolutely no way that this can be justified, its a no-brainer arguing that a gun is not put to peoples heads, what is being done is a systematic way of 'blackmailing' church members by 'challenging' their 'love' for God. you people should wake up and see how Nigerians everyday are being fleeced of their hard earned money daily by these so-called miracle pastors. this country is just the height of it all. na we go get Moslem's when go wake up begin kill anyhow, christian pastors when go dey use private jet up and down while dem members dey starve just to meet up with tithe and 'special offerings'. we need a revolution in this country, we need to do a rawlings and get rid of all these corrupt good for nothing leaders. yaradua, jonathan, all senators, reps, assemblymen, ministers, commisioners, imams, pastors, every one must go!!! even ojukwu, pat utomi, oshiomole, wole soyinka, EVERYONE!!!! millionaires club my ass. effing self-servicer!!!!!!!

Christians shocked shocked

By the special grace of God, I'm a member of RCCG. Notwithstanding, I'm of the opinion that the way the church source and emphasize on money is very unbiblical.

Yes! Jesus himself said: "give and it shall be given unto you, " and other parts of the bible confirms that there's blessing in given. But; what, how, who should give and to whom should be given? Time and space will not be enough for me to answer these questions.

Notwithstanding, God is not interested in how much u give but how "well". The "well" could mean the state of your heart while giving, it could mean whether its ur widow's mite which may have more value than someone giving N10M. The "well" could also mean whether the money u're giving is clean or unclean. Did you rob ur fellow human being to give God? Will your offering be acceptable before God? etc.

Many believe they can bride God or buy their way to heaven by given large sum to God, this people to me, lack understanding.

Personally, i believe the G.O. should learn from the apostles of old and emphasize more on the teachings of the kingdom, Christ and His cruxification for the remission of sin rather than money, money and money. Jesus did not come to give money but to reconcile us with God. "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all other things will be added to you".

I attended a sunday service in Deeper life once some times ago and the pastor expressly told the ushers that should anybody bring in tithes that's they know is larger than his earnings, he should be questioned and if he cannot give reasonable answer, his money should be returned to him.

THE CHURCH!!

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has a vision to spread the Word of God to the ends of the earth. It is a Bible believing church, where the teaching and a missionary approach emphasize the proper conduct and moral behavior of people. The church has an appeal to all types of people worldwide, with a determination to teach people in their various geographical areas, stages of secular life and levels of spiritual development.

The General Overseer of the church is Pastor E.A. Adeboye.

The church was founded in 1952 and since then, the church has grown to over 5,000 parishes worldwide with a total congregational strength of over one million people.

Presently, there are established missions in many African countries, as well as Europe, Asia, the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, South America and Australia.

RCCG has also been involved in establishing schools, rehabilitation centers, child care and support centers.

THESE  TIMES BEHOLDS ON THE CHURCH TO DIP HANDS INTO THEIR ACCOUNTS TO PAY THE LESS PRIVILEGED IN THEIR MIDST AND TAKE ADEQUATE CARE OF THEM.

Sorry. Did you say you read the post? How come you did not see that the LESS PRIVILEDGED IN THEIR MIDST are not expected to be members of the club? Guess you need to be far more patient and reflect a little bit more before reaching some conclusion that may not Glorify the Lord.

May be for the sake of the brethren who are unneccessarily outraged (because of the caption), one is tempted to point out that it is more sensible to to have the very rich in the church bear a substantial portion of the development cost of the church than to Tax the whole church, of which the "less Priviledged" are in the majority, endlessly.

The kind of arrangement reported in the post has always been in the RCCG (in the time of Pst Adeboye as GO at least). There has always been the Convenant Partners project that is in various arms and involved different areas of the church's life: Convenant partners in prayer is one of them, in which your money does not matter.

As for looters being large contributors to the church through this sort of arrangement:

1) I feel sorry for those who are too "POOR" to see that you can be a multi-millionaire so comfortable as to be capable of doling out tens of million of any denomination regularly without being a Treasury Looter, or any criminal of any sort. (I'm yet to hear of which treasury people like Bill Gates looted, and I'm yet to see any looter as rich as him)

2) This good man has always shared testimonies of refusing money/donations from questionable sources. claims without rebuttals.

See how this thread is growing? After,  they will say the man is not a Legend grin

Re: Adeboye Floats Millionaires’ Club by topsy25(m): 4:04pm On Aug 11, 2009
Need I add this:

32 "ow the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. 34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
36 And Joses,[d] who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 37 having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet."

From the passages of the scripture above, we can all see church is meant to care for those in need and not for some people to gather wealth.None should lack in a christian settings, but what percentage of the redeemers live below poverty level How many has the church sent to schoschoolw many homeless has the church sheltered

Indeed can we answer the question our Lord asked before he left this world: "If I come back, will I meet faith on earth?"
