dude is talentless, very defensive and is style of tennis is just plain boring.
plus sky sports and their annoying support for murray will be numb until next year's wimbledon
Hmm we know the British Media can be sickening but be real, Murray is better than he used to be.
Something good like a grand slam will come from him soon cool
By the way , are you a Fed or Nadal supporter tongue

eldee:

We all know Murray will win a Grandslam one day . . .
He's improving and he's lost the unforced errors, he's got champion stuff in him.

He's looking at it from a different angle . . .
Murray loses points, Nadal climbs back to number two cheesy cheesy

If its for this reason , then I like it smiley

Yes i do agree that murray is a lot better than he used to be but the fact still remains that for a professional tennis player to win slams he need to posses a weapon or two which i really don't see with murray.
all he does is just put the ball back in the court and wait for the opponent's error.

that will only happen if Federer and Nadal are out injured, Djokovic is out of form and Del Potro forgets his racket at home.

Murray is better than he used to be but he's never going to be as good as the top 2.

Blip in kini? He was soundly beaten 6-2 6-2 final sets. That is not a blip in form but a serious thrashing.

Don't player hate man. That was a blip. He'll be back. Murray has got it all. He needs to stop being too defensive thats all. If he sorts out that aspect of his strong,y'all better watch out.

I stand a chance of being the President of USA than for Murray to win a Grand Slam.

I have told y'all that anything that comes out of the UK is useless. Uselessness comes in no better package than Andy Murray

Thats not true. I can't think of one Murray weakness besides mental.

His backhand is a thing of beauty and he is so good down the line,
his game can be hard to read.

What I don't understand is this defensive game of his that you lot have
rightly pointed out. He is not the fittest to begin with and to go against
big hitters like Cilic, it just seems a weird strategy. Reminds me of
Wimbledon when he went up against Ferrero, and seemed content
to dilly dally with the Spaniard, who isn't the biggest hitter in the world.
It seemed to take ages before he realised he could power Ferrero off
the court.

I guess he is modelling his game on Federer's who has made a living
off of pacing his game, but Federer's recoverability is only bettered by
Nadal on the circuit.

I don't know if its a mental block or just strategy, but I will bet once
he gets over the obstacle, he will be holding one of the slams.
Re: Tennis: US Open 2009 by Nobody: 5:15am On Sep 09, 2009
doyin13, at 22 Murray is running out of chances and his game isnt likely to change anytime soon. Sorry but its time to admit he really isnt all that great. Top 5 player but thats about it. Where is Roddick today?

Good for Nadal, he is slowly walking his way back. Taken his Number 2 spot back after this win from Murray the pretender. Watch this space . . .

Next yr the top 3 players in the world will be Federer, Nadal and Del Potro.

ditto for Richard Gasquet.

Abi oo. . . .the champions keep getting younger and younger nowadays.

But judging on talent, I don't see why Murray can't win a Slam. He has
all the strokes and his only question mark is his fitness which he has
taken great lengths to address.

I hope he does win a slam anyway because hype apart, the kid can play.

True, but Gasquet's other strokes are not as good as Murray's.

Besides, the Frenchman is a drug fiend. tongue tongue tongue

Doyin

Just like people and ENglish media say about the English football team. The media would tell you the English team has the best players in all position but the truth is that Murray is not good at anything.
And the 3 lions dont have any weakness but the truth is that they(Murray and 3 Lions) are below par
I believe realistically about 10 players are better than him.

Tsonga, Del potro, Djokovic, Monfils, Robredo, Gonzalez, Cilic and even Acasuso are better He cant live on the hype of the media alone in Grand slams you need the talent which Murray obviously lacks

Great point there. Well made. Although I disagree with u on the fitness issue. There are a handful of players fitter than ndy on tour as we speak. He has definitely got all the strokes in the book. All that remains is for him to put them to good use. I'll take the see him take the game to his opponents. Be assured though,he will definitely win a grandslam.

They probably said the same thing about Greg Rudeski and Tim Henmann

Tell me the last time any Briton won a Grand Slam

Thats bull crap and u know it. Henman and Greg are not as talented as murray.

Henman was seen as a good doubles player. Nothing more nothing less. At best he was expected to be a top 50 player. He actually overachieved.

Greg Rudeski's game was based around his serve. He himself admitted he was a limited player ability wise. Murray's case is different. Whether u like it or not he'll definitely win a grandslam.
dayokanu:

That was probably fred perry(male) in 1936 though both greg and andy have got to finals subsequently.

Murray is a good player. . . . might not possess the fitness levels of Fed & Nadal - me guess is, he's got a psychological problem or something; when he comes up against the big-guns, most times he just sort'a fades away. . . don't think the britico press is helping him that much - must be a great deal of pressure on his young, frail shoulders.
Re: Tennis: US Open 2009 by Borat1: 6:05am On Sep 09, 2009
Hmmm. Thank God. Murray and the praise singing british press are out of my hair, at least for now.

Chimp,

Tsonga, Del potro, Djokovic, Monfils, Robredo, Gonzalez, Davidenko, Cilic, Roddick, Nadal , Federer are all better than Murray
