Similar thing has happened to me too. I told him that If he didn't reply on time (after I followed up with reduced price), I would contact the competitor. He told me to contact them. In situation like that, I think the best thing is to ask for their offer.

Delete the domain on Afternic and relist again. You'll be able to opt in thereafter

My own now I landed it with Dynadot .

So if buyer wants to check, he might think that I have sold it and new owner landed it with Dynadot

IMHO.
Don't be in a hurry to accept. Counter the offer with $300 or slightly above to see if he would increase his offer. But if he doesn't, you can then accept.....

Probability is that the end user might not come back again or might come with a better offer.
