As we celebrate #BiafraAt50, I hope the Yoruba and Igbo can find common ground and unite as Southern Nigeria's two main ethnic nationalities otherwise the South will continue to be politically disadvantaged even when it is the most educationally advantaged part of Nigeria.

How can you forget so soon? What were Gani Fawehinmi, Femi Falana, Wole Soyinka, Odumakin fighting for that time? Even Bola Tinubu, Dele Momodu and Fayemi sef. Some of them were jailed! The whole country was boiling then. Strikes and fuel scarcity were the order of the day.

We were and are still grateful to God that the situation did not degenerate into a civil war.

Truth be told, I expected more from Ojukwu. What he did could not be called "tactical retreat" but corwardice and selfishness. He led his people into a senseless and needless war.

Sometimes, I really wish the Igbos would really get the Biafra they crave. I would like to see how "developed"
it would really be.

Proudly Nigerian and I believe in one Nigeria

wink2015:
Papa Reno Omokri, a child of watery Pentecostalism By Ugoji Egbujo

Reno Omokri is a Pentecostal pastor. He is the founder of a certain Mind of Christ Christian Centre. Keep that name in mind. He flaunts his knowledge of the Bible. He dispenses nuggets. He has written a book on Godly wisdom. And another, interestingly, on “short cut to God.” He has taught Jesus on television. He was once a spokesman for a country’s president. Yet, he is, obviously, a flippant man. He is, evidently, a political attack dog. He is, seemingly, incapable of sobriety. And apparently, he has no use for self-restraint.

But this is not about a 43 year-old Papa Reno Omokri. It is about the watery Pentecostalism that has birthed many of his kind. It is about a pattern of dissonance, a habitual lack of harmony between what is preached in words and what is preached in deed. It’s about Unclad hypocrisy that is rampant in our politics, that has seized the church by the scruff of the neck. It is about the lust for titles, and for oversized names of worship centers. It’s about shameless charlatanism. It isn’t just the empty spirituality that rankles. It is the obtrusiveness of it, that getting into people’s faces, that is unbearable. The 1970s Pentecostal Christians weren’t saints, but they were visibly different. Had Omokri met the Pentecostalism of the 70s, he could have been a more temperate man. Now, there is a Reno Omokri who clings to the reputation of a pastor but who engages in political diatribes like a motor park tout. When he likes, he masquerades as Wendell Simlin. When he is not dishing nuggets, he is splashing insults. The modern Pentecostal duplicity. Pastors ought to be conscious of the moral burden and expectations priesthood places on them. We know anger can detonate bombs. But how can anyone explain a pastor deliberately making a career out of being a political attack dog. Yes, pastors aren’t saints. But pastors are supposed to be seen striving, struggling, to be moral examples. They can’t relapse into chronic self indulgence, they can’t run brothels and they can’t live as pimps. They simply can’t be resident in sin. Where, in the chaotic soul of a political attack dog can the Holy Spirit find rest? Pentecostalism is now all talk, no action. Intemperate glib talkers are all pastors. Pastor Reno Omokri is the founder of Mind of Christ. So he is a papa too. But there is no link between the name of his church and many of his public utterances. Some other pastors are less dissembling. A pastor named his church “Now Now Miracle Centre.” Nigeria lives in the present, and everybody wants quick fixes. The pastor, with an eye on earthly acquisitions, preaches materialism in the name of prosperity. It makes sense, there is congruity. An irascible attack dog can shepherd anything but not a ‘Mind of Christ Centre.’ He should have cobbled something with—fire, spirit and sword, something menacing. He is perhaps no different from a garrulous friend of mine. A very miserly man, who loves and brandishes the title ‘Ochiriozua.’ By that title he lays claim to exceptional philanthropy-he pretends to be he, who feeds and trains his community. Like Reno Omokri, who preaches generosity of the spirit and practices political bitterness, my friend is only renown for theoretical philanthropy. This new watery Pentecostalism is not built on the fear of God. It lets ‘Area boys’(urchins) who haven’t completed drug rehabilitation programmes become pastors. Those capable of sobriety are reluctant to be ordained. Yes, they are fainthearted. But they are honest. The burdens and the expectations of genuine priesthood are scary. Charlatans make an easy leap for the title and fame, for recognition, for status. They don’t need attitudinal changes, they can just put on the mask. Then with jollity, throw themselves forward as worthy of communal respect. Their courage comes from knowing, from the outset, that they won’t have to live their sermons, and nuggets. Many Nigerians have regrettably kept away from politics for similar reasons. What has Christ to do with acrimony and vindictiveness? Christ’s mind can’t look at a sick old man and mock him. It cannot sit with fools and churn out conspiracy theories. Christ’s mind has no room for the ‘yab me, I yab you’ mentality Reno Omokri has patented in Nigeria. Yet Omokri is not a truck pusher in Ochanja market , he is not an Obalende danfo driver. He is a Pentecostal pastor. Pentecostal Christians have been at the forefront of Christian evangelism in Nigeria in the last 40 years. They have been aggressive. But what they have succeeded in spreading, of late, is a form of flaky Christianity. A Christianity remarkable for being extravagant and superficial. They like to preach on T.V and in buses. They like to build big churches with loud microphones and musical equipment. What they don’t do, is preach with their lives. When they serve in public offices, their works don’t recommend Jesus. They lead double lives. One rolls on the floor in churches. And the other takes over in the office shaming Christ, propagating evil. Reno Omokri is the founder of Mind of Christ Centre, but you can catch him yelling publicly at a minister “your mother! It’s possible. He once looked at Rotimi Amaechi and called him” a pot bellied mad man.” He fights for President Jonathan. President Jonathan is not a pastor, but he has never been uncouth in public. I can’t understand this perpetual wallowing in, and splashing of, mud by any pastor. Nominal Christians experience bouts of sobriety in between sinfulness. They come back to their senses, call victims and apologize, make confessions and seek forgiveness. Pastor Omokri can quarrel, everyday, for 365 days. Omokri is a manifestation of faulty Pentecostalism. “You are a waste, you should be thrown away by Lagos Waste Management Authority,” he once told Gov Amaechi. He publicly referred to Rev Fr Mbaka and Pastor Bakare as blooming hypocrites. They disagreed with him on Buhari and Jonathan. He has uttered childish insults like: “You are as useless as ‘P’ in psychology.” He has never tendered any public apologies. I tried to imagine some of these vileness dropping from Pastor Adeboye’s lips and I was struck by vertigo. Modern Pentecostal pastors always look too well fed. But from their fruits, you know that many are spiritual malnourished. Pastor Omokri bakes nuggets. Yet he exhibits all the signs and symptoms of spiritual malnutrition. Perhaps he needs nuggets of humility from Femi Adesina. Adesina is a presidential spokesman. He is not a pastor. But he carries himself with the dignity of a bishop. He needs nuggets from Prof Osinbajo. Osinbajo is a pastor and comports himself like a cardinal.

deomelo:
A Yoruba man aka Black Scorpion beat your arse all the back into your villages and you surrendered your biafra rubbish to another Yoruba man aka OBJ while your rebel leader ran off the battlefield like a sissy coward and left your brothers and sisters for dead on the battlefield while he ran off to IC to fuckkk ashawo and enjoy good life while you suffer so who is the real coward?

The coward later begged and returned to Nigeria for his old Nigerian military rank and pension.

Even when the coward died, the same Nigerian flag and the symbol of the country he foolishly fought draped over his coffin straight into his grave.

Another clown and even a bigger coward is ready to lead you down the same destructive path.

As long as Kwara a hitherto Yoruba land remains the Fulani property, cowardice is spelled out.

Abiola saga, Awolowo's shameful suicide, Ogundipe fleeing to London even when not threatened, the other general crying and begging a subordinate to spare him, Mile12 saga, Hausa and Yoruba olotun beans sellers clash in Osun... ..etc

I have many reasons to call them bloody cowards...
How can you refer on things you have no knowledge on about Kwara ? What language do they speak in Kwara? Compare Kwara's mother tongue with other states in the Northern Nigeria, then your eyes will see the reality. A state that the three religion are practise, is what you call What? It is only a blind group that will not doff their caps for Yoruba ethnicity. The respect for the Yoruba ethnicity is the beginning of wisdom for people whose leader abandoned them when Civil was about to end between 1966/67—1970. A disgraceful element to humanity .Despite the fact that one of Yoruba's brightest officer fought on BIAFRA'S side and he was alleged and lied against to have plotted a coup against Ojukwu. Victor Banjo died as a brave soldier. Most of you here of Ibo extraction better swallow the truth. Who among Ibo soldier's history who was face with firing squad to had ever said,I AM NOT YET DEAD AFTER HE HAD BEEN SHOT. VICTOR BANJO was that brave and millions of Yoruba are still as brave as VICTOR BANJO. BUT YORUBA CAN'T EVER BE IN ALLIANCE TO A PEOPLE WHOSE HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH HATRED AND BETRAYAL.

Of course yes, igbos are the most cowardly tribe, not just in Nigeria but in the entire Africa. A very boastful arrogant illiterate tribe yet has never won a single battle in their entire existence. Even against the minority ijaws, they lost and absconded from their homes like rodents. The only things the igbos are good at is being parasitic vagabonds, roaming from place to place leeching off other people with organized crime and atritious seditions. And of course drug trafficking, fake products and all kinds of abominations. It's very easy to prove that the igbos are genetic cowards when their #1 tribal hero Ojukwu was a colossal coward who instigated a civil war and fled, the idiot couldn't even die for what he believed, yet allowed his reckless stupidity plunge his people into millions of fatalities. But the worst part is, these same people still hail him as their "hero"; they didn't even have any courage to condemn Ojukwu for his crime against his people by causing the deaths of millions of igbos. So you see, not only are igbos genetically cowards, they are innately stupid as well. Something big is fundamentally wrong with that slave tribe called igbo. No wonder till today, they are still 4th-Class citizens. Biafra is a must, we need to drive these acerbic parasites back to their lands. We are tired of igbos ruining the regions of other tribes in Nigeria.

The Igbos are living in fool"s paradise. Most of their accusations are false or trying to shy away from facts. They are not realistic or are ill - indoctrinated. They lack knowledge of history and character suitable for reasonable co - existence among reasonable people. If anyone could recall the reason for counter - coup against Ezeogu; it was pure case of betrayal not acceptable to the northerners. Awolowo their sworn enemy suggested a secession clause in the constitution of would be Nigeria after independence vehemently opposed by their "nationalist" ill - informed, Great Zik, who could not see beyond his nose. His mistake seen about seven years later would cost the blood of innocent Nigerians including my own brother who was conscripted to join the a Nigerian forces against the innocent Igbos who died in the war.

Even now, standing before an Igbo trader in market place to buy or sell, you will be wary of his 'Igbo sense" dubious character the same is not left out in the church. Who would put his life into the hands of selfish, chest beating, unorganized people to rule over them? Hausa - Fulani to them are fools, yet they rule, Yoruba are cowards yet they remain relevant in politcal arena of Nigeria. THe self conceited are whining.

Back to the issue raised by Reno Omokri. whilst Ojukwu ran away, abandoning his people in the heat of war, Abiola sacrificed himself. He was a pride to Yorubas. His wife gruesomely killed, attempt was made on Abraham Adesanya and many others, While there was NADECO, Afenifere etc. where are similar groups of Igbos?

you want Yoruba to take arms and fight? Fight for what? I think Abacha in his satanic majesty would not forget Yoruba in a haste. he was fought to his death with brains not guns. Even after his death, Nigeria had no choice than to feature two Yoruba
candidates for presidency. If you people do not understand the intricacies of Nigerian politics remain the ruled not the ruler. Face your business and risk being killed by jealous northerners and build your empire in SW, pay your taxes as well to develop wherever you reside in Nigeria.
Finally, one fellow said, 'Courage takes many forms, courage to stop a fight when it wrong is a greater courage." After fought her way to recognition in Nigerian politics there is nothing left for now to fight than consolidating the victory. If the need arises in the future to fight with the weapon suitable for the time, I tust the Yoruba nation, you wouldn't catch them unawares.

Interesting read.

He's right. Like I've been saying since I joined NL: I've NEVER met a brave Igbo guy and I've a few Igbo friends. Yes, I do know a couple of aggressive ones who can chat shitt and later apologise when they can't hack it. But bravery and Igbos, based on my experience, are two parallel lines that should never meet. However, conversely, Yorubas and Edos who talk the talk always walk it. The Yorubas who can't walk it, most times will never talk it to your face.

Then again, Igbos naturally are funny people and I'd give them props for being the biggest propagandists in the world. Igbos have an uncanny ability where they use propaganda to create a narrative that will look like the truth after a while. The same people who created the narrative that Yorubas are cowards and fictitious Igbo bravery, are the ones who created the narrative that Igbos are naturally light skinned and they're the most beautiful/educated/gifted Nigerians. They are also the ones who created a narrative of Igbos being civilised in pre-colonial Nigeria, when the reality is that they were mostly slaves and savages living in the forest. You just have to give the Nigerian Jews props for copying the modern day fake Jews in Israel to a T when it comes to lies and propaganda. grin

The fact that most people of Nigerian descent who dominate contact sports like Boxing and MMA are Yorubas should tell you all you need to know. No coward would go into a boxing ring or the octagon. grin
Guy you are Jew wise. Take this Polish proverb : The Jew cries out in pain as he STRIKES YOU.

One of the greatest thinkers the world has produced Arthur Schopenhauer called the Jews the great masters of lies.

Jews have taken history and turned it on its head. Elie Weasel's book 'Night' has been proven to be a work of fiction. The diary of Anne Frank has been proven to be a fraud by the French revisionist Robert Faurisson. Look at all the lies against Hitler.

Go to henrymakow.com or realjew.com or darkmoon.me.

Cheers

You are actually mis-informed!

Use Google to search and read about the Japanese Culture of HARAKIRI.

In Yorubas culture, it is stated as "Instead that l be ridiculed, l would rather die"
Self-immolation is the act of the bravest, among the bravest.

Mind you, l am not referring to those who commit suicide out of weakness (e.g, l am owing debt and l decide to jump into the Lagoon or somebody abuse me or call me names and l am feeling depressed and l therefore kill myself.).

I am talking about LEADERS who will rather die in a "self-dignified" manner.
In the Japanese culture, if your tribe fails in winning a war, the Leader of the opposing side, while recognising your fierce resistance, will offer you the choice to either be beheaded by him.... or present you with a sword, with which you must take your own life, in your own style, in the most dignified manner you can do so.
That is where the phrase "Falling on your Sword", comes from.
Awolowo "fell on his own sword", like a brave man.

When Ojukwu lost the Civil war, will millions of his people decimated, if he was a "brave Warrior", he would stand his ground and make his last stand. He wont allow himself to be captured and disgraced by federal Soldiers but he would rather, in a dignifed manner, "fall on his own sword".
Instead, he dressed like a Woman and FLED to Ivory Coast!
Now compare that! grin grin
Please tell me how did Awolowo die. His Wikipedia page reads that he died peacefully. What is it about this ratak poisoning I read about. Educate me.

They are like paper in the wind; no direction, no vision, no convictions, just driven anywhere by the vicissitudes of time. Their only god is money, the only thing they respect, and that's all that drives them. Dangle some money at an Igbo man and he will dance for you like a chimpanzee in a circus.
