neksummi: When I'm talking about you profitable internet business, I'm talking about your own business and not you earning some peanuts off another person's website. You should build a sound business of your own. When I said 'start your business without committing a dime, I'm talking of my willingness to share some of my experiences with you without asking you to pay me for the information. I'm not implying that you can build the type of business I'm talking about without money.Interesting |
nairalander: I don’t think I need to own a site as big as nairaland, here’s an illustration; Seun & his team do more work on nairaland in a week than Linda does in a month on her blog. Yet she earns more monthly or so I heard. Info-marketing on the other hand works well in western countries because their peeps are ready to buy stuff online, unlike in Nigeria where most people are not willing to pay for even a book of N200 not to talk of N5,500. I hail Gbenga Aijotan and his likes, boooy that guy works HARD!!!Nairaland is a forum, Linda Ikeji is a blog. We ( the forumites) generate the content on this site, while Linda's creates her own content. I don't know if Linda makes more money than Seun, but I believe Seun has an upper hand given that he has more traffic and he doesn't create content, he only moderates. Nairaland will never lack content, linda ikeji will. I don't know if there are any other means which he makes dough from this site, thats up to him. I do jealous him though (hope I won't be banned for this) |
Indeed. With companies trippling their online advertisement budgets and ecommerce sales reaching an all time high. The internet is the future of mainstream business. Nigerians will hopefully catch up in the near future, by then we should be able to boast of 1. Steady power supply 2. Fully efficient and effective e-payment systems and platforms 3. A computer literate public. If not. . . |
nairalander: @401kkAbsolutely. now I am not a newbie into this online biz thingy, I’ve been around. The reason why I can’t rely solely on affiliate marketing via ads, landing pages, adwords etc is the simple truth that it doesn’t work well, there are millions of affiliates everywhere on all the most profitable niches, how do I compete with that?Thats why I told you that to be successful in affiliate marketing, you need to be smart and aggresive. Landing pages, squeeze pages, SEO, PPC etc work well only if you utilise them properly. The existence of millions of affiliate marketers in the internet can't hinder your success. Only you can. I have american friends who started internet marketing few months, they're currently on five figures per month earnings, and there are internet marketers who have been around for much longer and still find it hard to make that amount.
Even most affiliate programmes will advise you to own a website, now owning website is just a little step.Of course, every serious internet marketer needs a website. Its necessary, I didn't say don't own a website by the way. You have to really promote you site via ads, SEO etc. which is not easy especially when your target market is abroad.Who says its not easy? Outsourcing has made everything easy. That is why I decided to choose a niche in the Nigerian market, the key to a successful website is traffic, Being in Nigeria it will be easy to advertise my site offline using flyers, t-shirts, handbands etc.You see what I mean, the stress you'll have to go through to put this site up and running(printing banners, flyers,t-shirts, writing lots of articles etc) if you put that energy, time and money into internet marketing, you'll be made. Beside what do you mean when you say “CPA ads are not targeted towards Nigerians”? they are targeted towards any internet user.Only about 3 percent of them. Haven't you clicked on cpa offer before and they tell you bluntly "offer not available in your country". Internet marketing like any other offline business is centered on thing - leads, or customers. Nigeria is a poor country, only about 0.5 percent of Nigerians shop online and Nigerian traffic is not worth anything in the internet marketing world. Clickbank, paypal, ebay, etc dont accept Nigerians not only because we are fraudulent, but because we're both fraudulent and have nothing to offer. Hence we're not valuable or meaningful customers. I hope you get the point. |
By the way, I'll like to know the niche you picked. Thats a major success factor right there, if you picked the wrong niche, just forget it. |
nairalander: CAN ADSENSE AND AFFILIATE MARKETING REALLY MAKE ME FINANCIALLY STABLE?Yes it can. I have researched enough to know that owning a niche website is one of the best & easiest ways to make money online.Well, it depends on the niche you chosed, if it's saturated or not(like the "make money online" or "weight loss" niche), if its profitable or not (some niches are a waste of time), also your website content matters ALOT. My website is near completion, my niche is targeted towards Nigerians so as my advertising.Your niche is targeted towards nigerians? (Thats too broad btw) I hope you did a good research before choosing this niche, because you'll end up frustrated if you didn't, since you're looking for free adsense money.
I expect to get at least 500 visitors pay dayOnly? I will invest some money to register, host & advertise my site.Big up I intend to use adsense and affiliate marketing to generate income from my site. In terms affiliate marketing I know its difficult to convince Nigerians to buy things online so I’ll be using strictly PPL ads.Affiliate marketing and Nigeria are not best of friends, I'll advise you stick to adsense. PPL or CPA ads are not targeted towards Nigerians (I'm a cpa marketer, so I know). I really need to know if my monthly income from this could be at least $2000From adsense alone? (Given that your site is a nigerian site, targeted towards Nigerians) it will take you months of hardwork and frustration before you start earning that amount from adsense alone. also I need to know the best affiliate programs that accept and pay Nigerians without stress (I prefer mastercard/ wire transfer payment).None. Except you use paypal Or should I just forget about all this online money stuff & hustle for a better white collar job?You can make it online if want to. Making money online is not hard, as long as you are determined, smart(business wise) and aggresive. If you have these qualities, you'll be a millionaire within a short period of time(thats a guaranty). Another advice, forget adsense for now. Go for the cash cow which is affiliate marketing and forget about these nigerian website stuff. It will frustrate you, become an affiliate marketer, be smart and aggresive. The sky will be your limit |
karlxavier: pals, its not that i'm in a hurry or dat i'm not opening up the issue. The tin is dat a frnd of mine is a sales representative of a wholesale company. So sometimes,he sells goods on kredit and d buyer pays like 3weeks time. So dis my frnd wants to help me with the money as soon as they pay so dat i can use the money to do any biz of my choice within 3 weeks and return the money back without interest. So dat y i need ideas on how to utilize dis money. Pls, more contributions pls. @ 2sexy,i've sent the mail. @ evrybody, i need more ideas.Your friend took a risk in borrowing company funds to you and on your part, its risky accepting such funds when you've not planned on how to invest it. If you don't invest wisely, you'll lose the money and your friend might lose his job which will cause a friction in your friendship. I can't think of any legal business you can invest in right now that will yield reasonable returns in three weeks except you want to invest in some online businesses which I am sure can guarantee you a minimum of 5k- 20k (at least) daily. Please note that these methods are blackhat. Send me a mail : lambit20@live.com for more info |
Aweber getresponse icontact mailchimp. Aweber is the best anyway |
OAM4J: Thanks. Please, the ban is still effective, i still get the 'You have been banned' messages, and there's no reply link on threads when i'm logged on. Lol @ trying to encourage people not to advertise on nairaland. I don't know when that happened |
Interesting |
Adsense is still the best, bidvertiser comes second. Some adsense keywords pay for as much as $125 per click. |
