Try Freelancing. Particularly as a hired pen. You seem smart enough to handle that. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Persistence is the only thing that outshines talent, luck and even connections in the end.. You have to show up everyday, even if it doesn't go well, you have to keep trying...wake up with that, "I have a feeling that today will be a good day"_ even if it doesn't go well, tomorrow will be better. Take the little you have, work on it.. I did countless marketing job bro... Before I finally settle where I can breath easy... Persistence is key.. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Bros you are not lazy, don't be discourage. search on family section, there is this guy, his moniker is phonetik or close to it, he teaches phonics as regards to pronunciations. learn them n reach out to parents n tell them you can teach their ward phonics at home, most parents wants their kids to flow in that regard, I tell you it will sell. just package yourself well n it must sell. you can start with small amount per child. It is well. 3 Likes 1 Share |

my own story goes thus, I graduated as the best graduating student in my set at the departmental level with 4.05 CGPA in 2010 and served in 2011. After that all efforts to secure a job as a graduate assistant proved abortive.. As a state university, only the indigenes of the state had the opprtunity to benefit from the scholarship opportunities and state jobs. Not relenting, i got a small job as a receptionist and in 2013, I bought an MSc admission form from Federal university of Technology Owerri.. Luckily I was offered admission and lectures commenced in 2014. Out the money I saved I was able to pay my fees and believing God for a better job to be able to sponsor myself fully without any hindeance. Along the line, I had to quit the small job I was doing because it wasnt giving me enough time to concentrate and to avoid having a terminal MSc because of bad CGPA. As someone who isstill building a career in academics having a CGPA lower than 4.00 will not allow anyone with such CGPA to proceed to Ph.D in most Nigerian Universities. As God will have it my final CGPA now stands at 4.49. amd I have finished my course work, research thesis analysis and my two internal thesis presentations. Now my problem is my external thesis presentation is on hold, the reason being that I am unable to pay my oustanding fees which must be paid before I can be allowed to do the external defence.. Let me quickly point out that before now I have paid a number of fees starting from 2013/2014 session when I started. In 2013/2014 session, I paid the acceptance fee of N40,000 and school fees of N91,000, in 2014/2015 session I paid N94,500, then in 2015/2016, I paid another N94,500. The policy is that until one do the final thesis defence, the school fees is renewed. And being a Govt owned school is saddled with strike actions and other form of internal problems and delays, we have beein asked to pay another school fees for 2016/2017 session, which has being increase to N101,500. I will still pay external defenceof N50,000 plus departmental fees of N20,000 for the four sessions and convocation fee as well. The problem now is I have exhausted all I have and currently have no job. i want to be a lecturer and without getting the right qualification , which is masters degree I dont think I can achieve that. i seriously need to finish up and to avoid paying extra fees if I fail to do the external defence this year. That is my story and I am not giviing up. 9 Likes |

This is the lot of 80% of fresh naija graduates. Most escape it either by luck, wit or divine design. It's worse If you don't have older siblings who are doing well and whom you can turn to for small change time to time. I can see you can fairly write and with a good imagination. Why don't you do a tour of Advertising agencies in Lagos and hunt for a placement as an in house writer? You can start from there...or you send your CV to amiloaded, the newest blogger. 6 Likes 1 Share |

madjune: True talk, and thanks for the tips, bro. My case is even worse. I'm the first of six. So there's no one to turn to. But that doesn't deter me at all. However, I'm not based in Lagos. That notwithstanding, I'll explore the second option. Thanks. 1 Like |

tessygirl:In as much as I do not want to quote you, I will. There are those that work smart and they are making it legitimately without being con. For example, in freelancing, there are those that make more than $1000 on freelancing websites every month with their skills, and they are on this nairaland. They go out and come out whenever they like and are not bound by any boss. All they need is their system and phone. Not endless hustling. Dont make affirmation on things you av not experienced or seen. Abi no be working smart be that? Working smart depends on the availability of authentic information at your disposal which is in operation with the times and seasons you have found yourself on earth. SO, my dear, working smart with huge pay dey. 3 Likes 1 Share |

wman:This is the best advice you have offered in this thread. Every other advice is trash and mouth action. I was once very active on nairaland, opening thread and writing things that made front page but never gave me money. I never visited the business section, and I missed a lot. last year December, I visited the business section and it was all glory. From what I got there, I have earned 150k - 240k a month from fiverr. Aside my salary that is above 100k, while sitting down in the office, my fiverr gig gives me money. Everyone in the office knows I earn much from fiverr, adding to my salary, I earn more than most persons there. The experience was worth it. All I needed to secure the job was samples of fiverr works and my analytical thinking skills. When you conduct a due diligence study of most persons here shouting no job especially on ladies, you see them being most active in the romance section. Some of them shouting no work yet they can write, give them book to write, they feel you have killed them. My fiverr client on Sunday told me that I don't know how hard it is to make $25 in US, I had to screenshot it to show those thinking that Nigeria is a grave. $25 is just N7k. Let me just stop here. Thank you for showing him the way. only few will take it. The other day, I referred someone to business section and he called me in the office that someone gave him a work about N40k work. I think he's been busy with that work. 4 Likes 1 Share |

dingbang:This guy! If the response wey dey mind is translated into writing ehn! you go find me come my house to beat me. Because when you dey talk your own you no dey get feelings at all. But take it easy. You can't tell someone you don't know who is in pain that they are the cause of their problems just because the person is refusing a marketing job. You ought to be better trained than that. Besides, marketing is not a ticket to haven! Don't be an uncouth young man. 2 Likes |
