From what I have gathered, the key to getting this B1/B2 thing is not to give the VO the slightest impression that you are a potential "escapee"

It's a case of guilty till proven innocent, and if we cannot prove innocence, the VO denies such person

The VO already gave her a hint with this statement.

Let her apply again using the appropriate visa type BI/B2.

Lol, there's actually no plan. Just a visit. If it's not advisable, I won't go ahead.

While trying to schedule a date for a renewal this afternoon,I was asked to confirm my email address which I did and then it asked me to upload my passport picture which I did,it further stated that my passport photograph upload was successful and then I was sent an automatic reply that a mail will be sent to me to confirm my email! Pay their visa fees and when you're about to schedule date for interview, an option will ask you if you want to add family members.

In essence, they haven't touched your file "proper", relax all the same, except for the "needing my passport out for something urgent" part.

Begin to worry some bit if status changes to "Administrative Processing" and doesn't change to "Issued" in 2-3 workdays thereafter.... All the best!

You can only reschedule your appointment once for free which I suppose you have already done. To add your family, you need to cancel your appointment, pay another visa fee and then book your appointment together with your family.

But now i need help and i can only think of you guys.
It happens that i initially schedule an appointment for April 11 but due to some factors i had to reschedule my appointment today to ealier than that, and i got April 1st but the problem now is that i forgot to update my confirmation number while doing that. And i really am lost at this junction.
Please what can i do to rectify this problem.

Did you fill out a new DS 160? If you didn't fill another application, you don't need to update any confirmation number. But if you filled a new DS 160, once you log in to your appointment page, look for the "update profile" menu, you should be able to make any amendment.

Will it be from the parents profile? or I will need to creat a profile for 1 of the children & add the others to it.

Please advice

For this one, you need to create a new profile for one of them and then add other children. But any other time you want to renew your visa, you can then add the children to your profile.

Yes, she needs to have the missing passport reported to the police and as well apply for a new one.
