This is a great trend, kudos to all our advisers. I have this enquiry, my family is planning o travel next year for vacation. We are family of 5, I work with one of the PFAs and wife works in one of the specialist hospital. We have never travelled of the country. Will not having any travelling history be a challenge to us?

They have been many posts/testimonies on Nairaland made by people who were granted US visa without any prior travel history

Stumbled into and Copied

"Good day Uncle Jimi,

Compliments of the season to you and I trust this mail meets you well.

This mail was necessitated to clarify what your guest on “The Discourse” on Classic 97.3FM yesterday (December 24th, 2017) mentioned. The lady (Amanda, I believe) said a couple of times that to be eligible for the visa waiver aka Dropbox, the applicant’s visa expired not more than 48 months prior to re-issuance. Seeing that she is an authority of the US Government in the country, whatever information she gives should be flawless BUT the information on their website (which she also quoted) is that “the visa expired not more than 12 months prior to re-issuance” (http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-visarenew.asp).

Could she be brought to the show anytime soon to clarify this seeing that there might be some people would go ahead to pay for the dropbox renewal system only to get rejected and as Amanda put it, “no refund would be done as the monies paid are for processing of the visas”?

Thank you and do have a prosperous New Year in advance Sir,

Regards,
OKONJI Henry Nnaemeka"

I don't know how true @the bolded and the piece generally is, but @LagosNIV, @AbujaNIV and @VisaOfficer should please take note and help put this in proper perspective before damage is done by such disinformation....

Hi everyone. Good evening. Please I want to be guided. My interview is on the 24th of next month. I am going for a church conference. I work as an events manageress. I have been denied once last year. Then, I was working in a multi national company before I resigned to start a company of my own and business has been really good. Now, my question is; I have a sister in Atlanta but I am going for the conference in Utah, Salt lake city to be precise. Last year when I applied, my sister was my contacts person but this year it is different because of my program. What are my chances? I tend to be optimistic though.

It has been said over and over here on Nairaland by visa officers that no one can predict your chance of getting a visa. Each case is unique
At the time of your application, visa officers can have information about you that is not revealed on Nairaland. That is why it is difficult for anyone on here to forecast the outcome of your visa application.

The best you can do to maximize your chances is to apply and be honest. Honesty is the best policy. Even if you don't get your visa, you may always get it in the future. Some people has got US visa even when the odds were against them

You really have to somehow be at your interview tomorrow or just zero your mind on paying another visa, actually don't see any way round this. You could be on the first flight out of PHC, as long as you meet the last minute for tomorrow's intake, you should be fine irrespective of the original 7:30am appointment of yours. All the best!

Arik said they would be 9 am flight to Abuja if weather is normal, However, If i should go by that time I may probably get to embassy by either 11 am or 12 pm. what is the guarantee i will be allowed in by that time?

Please suggest me a way out of this mess.

I applied for the US VISA last year but was refused. I had errors on my DS-160 like putting an uncles name on my immediate relative in The US. I am re-applying in a couple of weeks to go on holidays with a new passport as my former passport has been missing. I already sent an email to the embassy and I was asked to fill a new DS-160 form. Kindly advice if I can specify that I have no immediate relative in the US in the new DS-160? Also I work in a Telecoms company as an Engineer and earn over 450K, only time I travelled was to Ghana to work(does this count for travel experience?) Counting on your support as I proceed to complete my application.

It is not compulsory that you go with the flight ticket because they will not even ask it not to talk of checking it

Good day to you all. Please I need ur advice. Please is there any implications for not showing up at the interview as I already scheduled jan18 and I won't be available on that date. My original date was this December but couldn't show up due to work load and I rescheduled to jan18, now I won't be able to show up again. I'm ready to let go of the visa fee.

Hope I'm safe on my future application, hope there won't be any issue?
I awaits your response. Thanks

Good day all,

I am a silent reader here.

I have been to US embassy to for visa application sometime in 2015 to attended my cousin wedding but I was denied visa then.

I am applying for visa now because I have a church program I am to attended in march 2018, the church is paying for my trip to and fro for 7 days, but I may want to visit another place within the same state but I will be paying for that myself. I don't have any prior travel experience out of Nigeria because I'm not a fan leaving Nigeria for greener pasture and I like my freedom in Nigeria.

I work as accountant, single and member of ICAN I have filled and submitted my ds 160 form and booked interview for February 2018.

My questions is...

1. what are likely questions that VO may asked again since I was refused the first time.

2. I have invitation for the program, does that guaranteed that I will be issue a visa since it a religious program I am attending?

3. what are necessary/relevant documents I need to take to the interview date?

I will be grateful if I get constructive response here and no my flop's from my pervious visa application.

Thank you

Why will you call filling your uncle info is an error?
Or he's not your uncle anymore or he does not live in U.S again?

A big merry Christmas to all the elders in this thread, @LadyG please which other site can I book appointment and also fill the DS160 for non immigrants because the site you provided is not opening. Please any other Naira Land can equally be of help to me because I went for an interview in Lagos state on the April 2017 based on Ds160 (B1/B2) for a conference through the help of one agent that I paid a huge amount of money but at the end I was denied a visa and they told me that I can reapply and I did as been instructed but was still denied second time and the VO keep telling me that the information I gave is not enough for them to issue me a visa so since then I have been trying to look for a way of doing it myself until I find this thread on naira land so I really need a help on how to go about it and which time is the best time to apply for another one but not of a conference anymore but also to live there and work and I don't have anyone there but I have traveling experience because I ones work in Dubai for two years before coming back to Nigeria and have enough funds to push it. Thank you all will be very grateful for a positive response

The question is this... why do you want to go to U.S why have you not tried another country and your previous work history in dubai maybe a red flag.

1- you can go through the thread to read different transcripts that will give you an idea of the type of questions that are asked at visa interviews.

2-3 As per visa officers on Nairaland, an invitation letter isn't necessary for visit visa nor are documents.

Hmmmm.... interresting...

Getting a refugee status in Canada isn't as easy as people think. Thousands of Haitians had left the US to apply for refugee status in Canada but so far only 10 percent of them have been granted refugees status.
