He's not only winning majority of the south he's also winning majority of Christians in the north. So you can see why he concentrates on his strengths while using it to Nill of his weakness. Atiku, Kwankwaso & Tinubu will share the northern Muslim votes while PO will take the chunk of Christians votes. The terrorism in the north against Christians will give PO the votes he needs to climb and restore order. While it's a political game for Atiku & Tinubu, the rest of the country knows its a survival game and that's why they strongly behind PO.
