My friend bought her cuke seed from Johnny seeds. They are expensive. Parthenocarpic cuke seeds are usually expensive. But their yield more than makes up for d cost of buying them. The one I bought in Nigeria last 2 years has been discontinued. But East west seeds has a parthenocarpic beit alpha variety in Nigeria called Basimah f1. Very very expensive 1000 seeds cost about 35k. Crazy!

the market in our area is dominated by Cu 999,for reasons best known to the marketers they prefer 999,if u plant any other variety you end up eating it yourself and using it to cook soup for u and your family.when we planted murano we only managed to sell it off by the grace of God.

pls don't misunderstand the costly part,it is the fruit that is costly not the seed,in some places a bag of marketer can sell as high as #6,000,while the hybrids are #4,000/4,500.

the heirloom varieties are almost bitter free,unlike some hybrids that will be bitter due to heat stress regardless the type of irrigation used and it has better flavour like local cucumber, the seeds are cheap one 100gram tin of marketer of 3000-4000 seeds can sell for #3000-#3500 naira,were by a satchet of 1000 greengo can go up to #10,000 naira.

in the rainy we use ridges because it prevents waterlogging and gives good drainage,and we also have our knapsack ready and systemic fungicide to battle downy mildew and angular leaf spot the enemies during the wet periods.in dry season we dig holes to retain the water that will be used to irrigate the crops,it also prevents manure and soil additives being washed off by force of water pressure,we also have our knapsack ready to battle the insects and pests that are the enemies during dry season.

Oga emeka, pls sir, you talked about the measurements of Haifa n imiforce as divide into 8 equal parts and 10ml per 15-20litre napsack sprayer. Pls I would also like to know how you measure ACTARA, RODOMILGOLD, wormforce, and USAaf.
