the major cause of bitterness in cucumbers is stress caused by poor irrigation and hot temperature, that is why if there's no water source around or means of irrigation it is not advisable to plant cucumbers, a friend of mine has 2 acres of cucumbers that are bitter more than chloroquine and all the harvested fruits are been used for pig food,imagine the effort,money wasted and time,if he had followed my advice and did 3-4 plots that can be covered with drip or easily watered manually it will not end badly,but he is still lucky the rains are back and he can salvage something out of the farm but the damage has already been done.

yes depend 100% on rain and it doesn't rain regularly.

You need to water the farm manually to supplement the irregular rainfall...if the farm is too big, just create a section you can irrigate so as to recoup some part of your investment back while you wait for regular downpour

Morning sir. for a year, I have done a pilot 1 plot cucumber farm project with 1 temporary staff. although it was manual irrigation because there was water close-by. I have 4 plots lying idle @ Ikorodu.

Can I have an estimated working budget to setup.
drip lines, mulching film, staking, water system etc.
