ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:24am On May 18, 2012
i have a leeetle issue and i hope this time i basically dont get deflected.

basically, i want to know how to setup a remote desktop connection on a pc thats on a office LAN and behind a server.

thing is i can set it up from another device or pc connected to the office network but it has a local ip assigned by the server.

how do i get to make a connection from outside the LAN? ifconfig will always give 127.0.0.1 as inet address

tried teamviewer, but i cant afford a license, nor am i remotely interested in buying 1 sef.

i hope my question is clear?
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:18am On May 18, 2012
EDIT:

managed to do it on the same network via wifi anyway grin grin

MY REAL CONCERN IS ACTUALLY HOW I CAN MANAGE THIS FROM OUTSIDE ON ANOR NETWORK OR SAY WHEN IM ON MOBILE NETWORKS ?

the pc has a local ip on the network. teamviewer seems not to need an ip as it uses a server based model, their server, so all u need is username and password on both devices.

maybe i should ask this in computers sef, but any help is sure appreciated
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m):
@ all.

i need a free and decent remote desktop arrangement for my android/pc.
snag is it has to work behind a firewall /or a LAN

i would have done it manually but ifconfig gives me 127.0.0.1 and a local server assigned ip

except of course you can teach me a way to do it that will not involve knowing anything about the server which im behind (not allowed near it)

tried teamviewer and apparently it works for 1 minute thereabouts in free license mode!!! but it did work flawlessly.

would love to be able to remotely view/control my pc. will save me a lot of hassle and running about just to do minor things send pple stuff, log them in my workstation and most especially important, SNOOP!!!

im sure uncle Texazzpete can be of help here

Make everybody free nasri. That he is a classless fool is not in doubt, however the thing is getting too personal, just see frimpong and rosicky tweets on twitter. Plus fact is, he is right! Is that not what we have been saying?

Wenger keeps telling us his large squad bull, abeg pple like almunia and diaby sef na squad? Picking free cash weekly! How many players at arsenal are worth a cube of sugar? Abeg truth is bitter.
Anyway at least it will serve as extra motivation against citeh.

As for chelsea winning CL? Hell no! Y would u even think like that? Chelsea win cl before we do? Una dey madt? Kai stop am o. As for totoyam, wetin them cocoyam wan become? Abeg, they r not an issue.

LIKE i pointed out before

BIS BASED BROWSING DOES NOT COUNT AS CONSUMPTION OF THE DATA BUNDLE. IF YOUR APPS ARE USING THE BIS YOU PROBABLY ARE NOT USING THE DATA AT ALL.

but if your apps are not using BIS like some apps do, it counts to the data bundle

they wont ever send you a message, its either those apps stop working or your credit gets zapped.

this is why some networks block youtube!!!
PhonesRe: Airtel BIS Service by 4llerbuntu(m): 7:50pm On May 14, 2012
and to clear doubts, look at the line for 1500 naira plan, there is a link to terms and conditions there particularly this link: http://mtnonline.com/products-services/internet-services/blackberry/terms

and this is what that link open into:

Freetards

you use freegate to bypass mtn and u call it unlimited?

SMH.

the part i dont get is why you must always show your foolishness online. at this day and age you dont know that Applications that use BIS on a blackberry dont count against the data bundle? there are data bundles so that those apps on the phone that dont use BIS will not use up your cash.

is stupidity a virtue on nairaland?

The attached screenie is from: http://mtnonline.com/products-services/internet-services/blackberry

notice the difference between the 1500 and the unlimited 3000 plans?

PhonesRe: Airtel BIS Service by 4llerbuntu(m): 4:15pm On May 14, 2012
oluwanoni: Of all networks, Airtel offer of BIS is Limited, Y should they even call it unlimited, imagine BIS week, n BBC week is both 100MB, it just crÀzy using Airtel, while MTN offers unlimited, My advice don't use Airtel, if u a heavy User of data, n if not sef , just being on twitter 6hrs 30mb is Gone.
if i abuse you now, e go dey somehow. but at times pls try to apply some common sense.
i get the point that your intelligence is not up to scratch but then.......... pretend to be smart now!!

AIRTEL COMPLETE: N1,400 with 1 GB DATA USEABLE ANYWHERE on your phone or even modem

MTN COMPLETE COMES IN TWO VERSIONS: N1,400 comes with 200MB DATA USEABLE ONLY ON THE BB

MTN UNLIMITED: N3,000 COMES WITH UNLIMITED DATA?? USEABLE ONLY ON THE BB

GLO COMPLETE: N1,400 WITH 3GB DATA USEABLE ON YOUR BB ONLY

u see why calling u foolish may actually not be an insult?

opinion piece on football365.com

interesting read:

'
United Struggling With An
Identity Crisis...

If there's one thing Manchester United have
lacked more than anything else this season, it
has been a sense of identity.
For much of the current campaign the
champions have been able to get by on
reputation alone. But the humbling at home to
Man City, shock defeat to Blackburn, give-away
against Everton and disaster in Europe suggests
that the unbeatable aura United normally exude
is beginning to dissipate.

Indeed, the team have failed to win any of the
eight Premier League matches in which they've
gone behind, with the fightback at Chelsea
offering a solitary glimpse of their former
resolve. After the game-changing "worst ever
day" against City in October, Alex Ferguson said
of the team's attempts to stage a comeback:
"It's all right playing the history books, but
common sense has to come into it. We kept
attacking when we went 4-1 down and we
should have just said: 'We've had our day'." The
sentiment was perhaps more prophetic than the
manager intended.

In 2002/03, United were also going through a
period of change. A third-place finish in the
previous season had come as a severe wake-up
call and after conceding 45 goals - more than
Fulham, who were in 13th - the club broke the
English transfer record for the third time in just
over 12 months to sign Rio Ferdinand from
Leeds.

The restructuring had instant results. With
Ferdinand marshalling the defence, the team
had a platform on which to build and
Ferguson's deployment of David Beckham and
Ryan Giggs on the wings saw Ruud van
Nistelrooy end the season as the league's top
scorer on 25 goals. United finished a
comfortable five points ahead of Arsenal at the
top and with many presuming that this was the
peak of another famous Ferguson cycle, it was
expected that a period of dominance would
follow.

Except it didn't. Although United finished as
champions, defeats to Blackburn, Bolton and
Middlesbrough showed that they were far from
invincible. They had the best players, but as a
team they lacked a convincing identity. Similarly
to this season, the club were represented by
only one player - Paul Scholes - in the PFA Team
of the Year. They didn't win another title for
four years. And in the next three seasons the
team failed to progress further than the first
knock-out round in the Champions League,
finding themselves bottom of their group in
2005/06.

Even if United pull off an extraordinary title
victory on Sunday, Ferguson will remember the
barren years when, despite assembling an
expensive squad, he failed to find the right
approach on the pitch. While Roberto Mancini
hasn't wavered in his vision for City this season
- exemplified by the failure to bend to the
champions in either of the Manchester derbies -
Ferguson has been forced to experiment.
At times the Scot has shown reactionary
tendencies, epitomised by the absurd selection
of Ji-Sung Park in the 1-0 defeat to City in April.
And the decision to bring Paul Scholes out of
retirement also suggests that Ferguson is
unsure about the progress of his new
generation.

In what he accepts is a period of transition,
Ferguson still clearly favours the 4-3-3
counter-attacking formation that ended
United's three-season league drought and saw
them crowned European champions in 2008.
The problem for United is that back then they
had Cristiano Ronaldo, whereas now they have
Ashley Young. Whether the current team is
capable of scaling the same heights is highly
doubtful, and the manager may have to devise a
new approach to eke the best out of his players.
That United have remained so competitive in the
title race is credit to the squad's adaptability.
But unless Ferguson finds the answers to
evolving the current cycle and re-establishing
the team's identity, this season's
unpredictability could slip into the mediocrity
that followed success in 2003.

Holding off the City charge presents the
manager with the biggest challenge of his reign,
with power at the top beginning to change
hands. Ferguson knows that he can't look to the
past to find the solution. After watching his
team throw away a two-goal lead against
Everton the manager said: "It's all right saying
that in the history of our club we tend to attack
all the time, but that was a stupid performance
and it's put us on the back

idle so iv been wondering abt some stuff

back in the days KIRFS were rubbish primarily because the OS they ran was indeterminate and crap.

these days you find that they mostly run android. they have even started moving away from winmo 6.5 grin grin grin grin

now truth is if the device is not so underpowered in terms of specs, and runs exactly the same OS your "original" phones run, whats there not to like?

an example is the 7 inch tablet @KazeKage was referring to me a few days back.

anor example is this Galaxy Note knockoff which might even most likely pass as original because they spelled the samsung name correctly for branding!!! shocked shocked

im not making out a case for buying chinkos o, i don't and would be leery to do so anyway given that they may simply go up in smoke one day cheesy cheesy cheesy,

BUT that Galaxy Note clone for $200? grin grin grin pls watch the video embedded on that page.

but why don't the igbo boiz who keep bringing stuff from china actually get stuff like dis instead of all those noisy rubbish they keep bringing in? cool cool cool

seems to me there is money to be made from chiko androids...... wink wink

Thank me later for the biz idea wink

GREAT FIND:

If you use your device to listen to music either via headphones or Bluetooth audio, having to take the phone out of your pocket to see who is calling or texting you is probably a common and tedious occurrence. Similarly, if you stream audio while driving, wouldn’t it be great to be able to know not only who was trying to reach you, but also what they wanted to say without having to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road?

Well thanks to XDA Forum Member crazy_fool1′s application ReadItToMe, you can now be notified of who is calling or texting you without even having to touch your device. And if you receive a text message, the app will even read it to you. As if that weren’t enough, ReadItToMe is even able to decipher the nonsensical gibberish that is txtspk. In the developer’s own word:

“Translate’s your text messages into proper english so you can understand whats being read.
With ReadItToMe This:
SMS from John saying: “btw dat woz amazin, I dunno y I wasn’t gonna go lol”
Becomes This:
“New message received from John. By the way that was amazing, I don’t know why I wasn’t going to go laugh out loud”
As well as that you can add your own words and translations easily through the UI.”

Check out the application thread for a full list of features and download links. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=robj.readit.tome

the fact that he does not play does not mean he has been on permanent holiday.

he does train and hang out with the team even in the dressing room before matches. follow him on twitter, he regularly tweets stuff about that. more often than not he is with the team, so they are not exactly strangers.

bone jo, u wan compare jay jay okocha to ray parlour? academy manufactured player must struggle to rediscover/retrain his skills and abilities. natural born talent will need time to get in shape and his mind/body back in synch. as for playing the game, he will always be there.

debosky: Maybe because others have gotten over getting excited by rumours that 99% of the time turn out to be false? cheesy
precisely. as far as im concerned the podolski deal so early is simply a bid to encourage marketing sales. i dont expect to see any other deal in fact. rather expect him to announce LANS. unless and until preseason/early season goes badly before he tries to sign yet anor player. rather expect the usual consignment of "exciting" 16 yr old pikins undecided undecided

debosky: PS - I have bookmarked all the bile directed at Ramsey this season. I expect to see the same if not worse directed at Wilshere when his own recovery season is punctuated by struggles to regain form.
i also hope you will be man enough to have the shyte rubbed in your face at that time, because you can save this, bookmark it and take it to the bank. WILSHERE WILL SURPRISE YOU.
