StarBoard: And Nick Powell is th one we should be signing in a bid to regain our EPL crown.
Fergie.shaking my damn head.
I know we need a striker, but do we have to go this low? What's his track record?
While others are getting reputable strikers, our coach goes to see an unheard of,overrated English player (reminds me of Ashley Young).
Maybe Dave Whelan is right.Fergie is losing it.
Evra?please He's been wasted for like 2 1/2years.
dude calm down now! haha, u just lost the title on goals difference!!

besides, if fergie had this kinda attitude, you guys would not have wayne rooney today. apparently the nick boy is not bad at all. isaw this article on him today, he seems very good for a youth player

http://www.football365.com/faves/7782105/Nick-Powell-Would-Be-A-Coup-For-United

For the past 18 months my Grandad has been badgering me about the brilliance of Nick Powell.

As a lifelong Crewe Alexandra fan, his support spanning more than 80 years (I'm not allowed to reveal his actual age), he's seen plenty of skillful players turn out for the Railwaymen. But none, he says, have ever had as much potential as the 18-year-old forward linked with a £4million move to Manchester United.

I have to admit, the first time Grandad sang Powell's praises, I thought he may have had a few too many pints of mild. Given the quality players Crewe have produced in the past, it was certainly a bold claim.

I trusted that Powell was good, but was he honestly a better prospect than Dean Ashton, scorer of 74 goals for the Alex in his first five seasons as a professional? "Yes," was Grandad's reply. Better than Danny Murphy, who helped the club climb into the second tier of English football for the first time since 1896 before leaving for Liverpool? "Definitely." Even better than David Platt, who Dario Gradi snapped up as a teenager after his release from Man United and averaged more than a goal every three games before going on to win 62 England caps? "Yes. Matt, how long is this going to go on for? I'm playing bingo in half an hour."

It was emphatic approbation indeed, from a man who once refused to put one of my drawings on the fridge because I'd accidentally coloured over the lines.

After watching the youngster curl in his first senior goal in Crewe's 3-1 win against AFC Wimbledon in October, I could see that Grandad hadn't been exaggerating, unlike his stories about being voted Mr.Cheshire for ten years in a row during his twenties. Here was a player built in the Gradi ethic. Always with his head up, Powell had excellent control, the ability to dribble past defenders and bags of determination.

"With kids we talk about can you get hold of the ball and can you do something with it. Can you keep the ball? Can you pass and move?" Gradi told the Guardian when he was presented with the Contribution to League Football Award in 2011. In his latest prodigy, Crewe's academy chief - who managed the club for over 25 years - has helped nurture those vital and evident attributes.

An England under-18 international, Powell clearly has a bright future ahead of him. After scoring 14 goals in 38 league matches for Crewe this season, he became the first player to pick up all five of the club's end of season awards, including Goal of the Season for this fabulous strike against Gillingham. When a player is acknowledged as being both the Young Player and Player of the Year, you know he's pretty special.

One man who apparently agrees is Sir Alex Ferguson. After receiving glowing reports of Powell from United's scouts, the manager made a personal visit to watch the youngster in action in Crewe's last game of the league campaign against Aldershot. Again Powell didn't fail to impress, helping his side recover from going behind to secure a playoff place.

And despite a gruelling first full season in professional football, the striker saved his best for last, scoring a wonder-goal at Wembley as Crewe achieved promotion thanks to a 2-0 victory over Cheltenham. With just 15 minutes on the clock, Powell picked up the ball on the edge of the area, before turning superbly and rifling across the goal into the top corner. If the move to United is completed, it will prove a fitting leaving present.

"You can't do what Barcelona do if your players aren't as good as their players. Although it looks easy, to receive the ball under pressure, it requires a really high level of skill," Gradi once said. "Plus you can't teach the confidence, the mental side of that kind of play."

Grandad might hold back from suggesting Powell is good enough to play for Barcelona, but should Man United part with the proposed £4million for the 18-year-old's signature, they will acquire a precocious talent with the requisite self-assurance described by Gradi.

Indeed, just over two months ago Powell was younger than the legal drinking age. On May 27 he was given the man of the match champagne following a sparkling performance in the League Two playoff final. Finishing the season as the Railwaymen's top scorer, Powell has already spearheaded one successful project of building with youth. It's now time to play a part in a second.

@duduspace, let me repeat this incase you missed it for the umpteenth time

ARSENAL AND ARSENE ARE THE ONLY ONES CREATING DRAMA HERE

I dont get how you think contract negotiation goes but it is really simple, offer, accept sign. Or offer refuse, counter offer..........

When you don't agree you leave the table.

so why is arsenal offering it's best player wages about half of what he is worth in the market? Arab money or not, the guy will get paid double elsewhere! Which arsenal knows!

Secondly even if the money is not the only factor, their remains the small issue of being competitive and winning something, is this club going to give him the chance to do that? Has the club shown that it is willing to cure this defect? No!

So what's this rubbish you keep yarning about loyalty? I think all this games wenger plays to get fans to harangue players is just ridiculous!

Let me give you a personal example, when i graduated i worked with a 1 man business guy. I had no experience so i took the job with its bad pay. Three years down the line i was the MVP. Fact was i also knew a lot about how the office ran and how much we were making. I was embarrassed that i had to demand for a rise before i got one.

By the next year i was earning half of what my contemporaries earn. Without a face off an increase was not in the pipeline, so i dusted my cv and went hunting. Of course i got suitors with far better offers. When i dropped my resignation, guess what the idiot did the exact wenger move, even going as far as getting his wife to cajole me, played this same loyalty card, he gave me my first job therefore....................
Ironically, he offered 10k extra on my old salary, the new place i was going, i would earn 50 k more, have my own personal office and car, and pension and insurance plans footed by the office, for starters.

Im sure if you were to be my father you would tell me to be loyal because when he employed me i didn't know much about the job shey?

Offered to play free my arse, in their prime and when they had concrete offers elsewhere at better clubs with a chance to win stuff? Pls cite an example!

Bollocks, van persie is gone. Start praying that your manager actually buys some.other striker, seeing that the only one u got now is new to the league and might just choke

To summarize the whole story, this is what is going on:

For what it's worth: I looked up Stat Counter's stats for Mobile OS in China:
http://gs.statcounter.com/#mobile_os-CN-monthly-201201-201205

Nice graph, and I took out the OS share numbers for iOS and WP

First number iOS, second number WP:
1/2012: 12.6%, 0.19%

2/2012: 12.8%, 0.22%

3/2012: 15.8%, 0.29%

4/2012: 16.7%, 0.30%

5/2012: 15.8%, 0.38%

These numbers, if correct, are indicative of installed base.
I can see a couple of interesting things:

1) WP share is a rounding error compared to iOS share. grin grin grin

2) There is no spike in WP's numbers that would indicate a huge sales success in April or May.

3) iOS grew from Jan to May 3.2 percentage points, WP 0.19 percentage points.

But of course Microsoft sees it this way:

4) iOS grew from Jan to May by 25%, while WP's growth was a staggering 100%!!! shocked shocked

5) While iOS lost share from April to May ( - 5%), WP grew more than 26%!!! grin grin grin

See what I can do with numbers! 4) and 5) show clearly that WP outperforms iOS in terms of percentage growth! (If we just forget for a moment that WP's installed base was irrelevant in January and stays irrelevant in May.)

What else to add? Ah ja, Android came in with a share of 38.6% in May. This is pretty much 100 times bigger than WP.

Nuff said. WP is and stays a fail, even in China.

THIS IS A BLOG POST FROM A GUY I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS VEXING FOR NOKIA

Paging Truth Police: No! Windows Phone and Nokia Lumia are NOT outselling iPhone in China. Utter BS story spread by Microsoft propaganda machine

I mentioned this story in the blog story yesterday with the update about the smartphone bloodbath. But as the story is spreading very widely, I need to make the point explicity.

Microsoft COO of Greater China, Michel van der Bel has been quoted very widely claiming that Windows Phone smartphones, especially the Nokia 800c are outselling the iPhone in China. This is utterly untrue. This is totally baseless. It is a palefaced lie. It is bullshit. Paging Truth Police. What is truth about Windows Phone in China, and why is Microsoft (and Nokia) spreading this kind of misinformation?

TOTALLY UNTRUE STORY - STOP SPREADING THE LIES - CORRECT YOUR STORIES, REPUTABLE JOURNALISTS !!

Lets go through the facts. First - NONE, and I mean NONE of any reported stories by independent sources suggest any kind of massive surge of Windows Phone sales in China. None whatsoever. Please check and do Google search where you ignore stories referencing Mr van der Bel. Look at stories before 14 May, 2012, and look for any reported independent news (ignoring Nokia or Microsoft claims). If there was a rush to buy Nokia Lumia 800c or the two other Windows Phone handsets sold in China, there would be huge stories of sales rampages in retail shops from Shanghai and Beijing to Chongqing to Urumqi. Try to find one. The only sales rampages that were in China, were with iPhone 4S launch, not Lumia 800c.

Secondly, if this was happening, it would be the biggest smartphone success ever seen in any market and it would be reported everywhere. I do mean anywhere. Apple just sold 19% of the Chinese market smartphones in Q1 according to Canalys. Remember the sales hysteria of the iPhone launch in the USA in 2007? They didn't achieve 19% in two months of US smartphone sales. They did not achieve 19% of USA smartphone sales - in two years! And it was the best smartphone launch in history supported by the biggest tech hysteria ever seen, and driven by Steve Jobs and his electrifying presense. If Windows Phone is now outselling iPhone in China - and did this in 2 months - it would be the biggest bestselling smartphone launch in history. It would be on nightly news on all Chinese TV channels - with Steve Ballmer and Stephen Elop prancing on stage all over China regularly. Remember the iPhone hysteria back in 2007? Where is the Chinese version of David Letterman and Jon Stewart and Conan O'Brian and Saturday Night Live doing big Lumia stories now? If that was the hysteria and hype of the biggest smartphone success ever seen, it would be regularly reported as astonishing China stories also in Western media, on CNBC and Bloomberg and CNN and BBC - and all the big analyst houses would be screaming about it in the press. Did you see any stories of a Windows Phone hysteria happening in China prior to May 14? Any? Even one? Even one story before this astonishing news? Did you see any stories of customers camping outside stores to get one? (Did you see any stories of the success, other than Microsoft's moutpiece Mr Bel and some rather tame Nokia PR statements?). I went through more than 500 separate news stories on Google News before 14 May using the filter of "Windows Phone" and "China" and foundnot one - not one - not one - not even one - reporting any kind of even the slightest sales rush or success of Windows Phone or Nokia Lumia in any - any - ANY - Chinese city or market or region or press or store. Not one.

Thirdly, Apple is having a huge time in China. If Microsoft's Mr Bel wanted to pick a story that was at least 'plausible' then take Motorola or HTC, former Chinese smartphone players who recently have seen falling market share. That story would be believable. But not Apple, not iPhone, not in China! Did you not just see Apple report its Q1 results (calendar quarter, ie January-March quarter) where Apple said its strong growth was driven by its China sales? Apple is growing in China, not shrinking. And note, that giant growth in China was done without the iPhone 4S selling for the full quarter! Now, Q2 (April-June) is the first full quarter the Chinese get of the iPhone 4S - it will likely be even better now!

Continue here if u are interested sha, but this guy dey beef nokia meeeennnn! grin grin grin grin grin

some thots from arseblog about the matter of the koko. i agree with him tho.

Quote:
I also firmly believe that our financial set-up is good enough for us to compete. And here’s where I think a distinction needs to made: there’s a big difference between competing financially – which we cannot do – and competing on the pitch – which we certainly can. We’ve never been the biggest spenders, either on transfer fees or wages, but that didn’t stop us winning titles, doubles and cups. Montpellier, and even Dortmund, have shown you don’t need to be the biggest or richest to win your league.

We need to forget about being able to compete with Chelsea or Man City when it comes to wages, that’s a pointless ambition, but there’s no reason at all why we can’t compete on the field. It requires some change, of course. Smarter and better use of ALL the resources we have available to us will, I believe, allow us to build a competitive team in the Premier League and in Europe. It’s up to the manager and the board to do that. I’ve always said that spending for the sake of spending is nonsense, but money in the bank won’t nick you a late winner either.

And perhaps our inherent conservatism needs to be looked at. I understand the financial position we’ve been in has forced our hand, but there’s also something to be said for showing a bit of ambition. The game has changed, I realise, but the idea of Arsenal signing a player like Dennis Bergkamp back in the day was jaw-dropping and led to a revival of our fortunes. It lifted the club as a whole, and while I’m not saying we need the archetypal ‘marquee signing’, how much would it lift the mood, and boost the club itself, if we brought in somebody that had a bit of that wow factor this summer?

Something to think about anyway.

the only drama not needed now is that arsene and the board should cut out the charade and quit making this players to look bad whilst protecting their own image. rubbish.

IS VAN PERSIE NOT AMONGST THE TOP 5 OUT AND OUT STRIKERS IN EUROPE THIS SEASON?

feel free to list any top 5 and what you think a transfer and wages would be for any?
does it remotely look like 130k?

its simple na, if you and arsenal wanted to go out to buy a player of van persie's quality, 1.5 season wonder or not, how much would you pay as transfer fees and wages?

now add this to the factor that Arsenal WILL not challenge for any trophy with its current squad, which will only be improved with strikers whose team just got relegated, and other 16 yr olds or 2 million bargain signings!

so the player should

1. miss out on his opportunity to make money commensurate with his abilities and hard work? (whether or not he actually deserves it) he has put himself at a position to angle for such!!

2. miss out an opportunity to be part of a title challenge, go through the emotions, the roller coaster, the highs and lows of being at the top

3. miss his only chance to rub shoulders with the best in his field, and at least be able to exchange stories and what have you about the top?

4. miss out a chance to actually have something to hang on the wall of his house other than mascot pennants from bolton and pictures with the charity org visits?

all because he is loyal to arsenal, his fathers club abi?
i wonder what the club that sold him to you will have to say about that, seeing that we are talking about loyalty here.........
afterall he was also groomed and taught the very basics there. what qualified you to his talent at that time other than more money and the lure of a bigger stage?

DUDU, GO AND HUG TRANSFORMER, VAN PERSIE IS GOING TO CITY
NEXT YEAR WHOSOEVER IS THE BEST ARSENAL PLAYER IS ALSO GOING TO CITY, OR BARCA OR WHEREVER. deal with it

if u want to play with the big bois, u think big and act smart.

i dont kuku know why u say we would have won the league if they didnt go.
afterall you dont have to be the best team, nor do you have to be the most expensive to win trophies
CC: CHELSEA, MONTPELLIER, 2004 Greece etc etc etc etc etc
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by 4llerbuntu(m): 1:47pm On May 22, 2012
Make una leave dudu. if van Persie na your brother and u want the best for him, would your advice be that he should stay?

seriously,

1. He is under contract, HE DOES NOT have to accept another contract. abi is is now by force to work for someborry?

2. Maybe you should have considered scenarios like this when permutating your accounting principle football club theorems na!

3.
duduspace: This is a player the club stuck by when as recently as 2010 some were writing articles that we should sell him cos he would never play a full season.
Now he's given us 1.5 astounding season and we are suddenly not matching his ambition.
All these stupid mercenaries should get the hell out of Arsenal jare, we need our own Scholes, Giggs, Le Tissier, Tony Adams e.t.c.
People who will say Silverware or not, I'm going to stick to it and win something with this club.
you absolutely have to be shitting me. u that was standing up for na$ri?

u think scholes giggs, adams were earning below what their equal contemporaries were during their hey days of "loyalty"? are u high?
see ur mouth like im gonna stick to this club. na d sticking u go show your grand children later as a legend ko? whilst ur lessers are showing off the fruits of their years?

4.
duduspace: And that is how to win trophies? playing 15 games out of the 50 odd games Arsenal play in a season? the difference between Arsenal and the PL trophy in 07/08 was 4 points, maybe if he'd been fit we would have won it.
The same eediots that we spent the famine seasons developing play one good season or thereabouts and run away just cause of money? I'm fully convinced we would have won something by now if just 2 of these players had stayed just one or two seasons more instead of backpacking it immediately they showed any promise. Cesc/Hleb/Flamini/Nasri
But who send you message to run feeder team, and be making money off player sales?
how many truly big clubs set out to make money off player sales. no be u sef talk am say the profit wenger has been posting for years is made up mostly of player sales profits?

since you now see the latent foolishness in buying 14 yr olds and grooming them for years, i wonder if that means you will now see the reason why other people complain about rubbish like diaby and ramsey that you keep defending.

abi no be u go dey argue for here say wellington etc na bargain, na star player etc?

so the boy go learn beta trade finish, u expect him to siddon with your stingy broke-ass club going through the motions every season ko?

FYI no self respecting, ambitious player would ever sit at arsenal now!! if u do its a clear sign that you are a lazy arse, big fish in a small pond joe!! simple

duduspace: I've heard enof of this bullcrap about the team not winning anything. Players win games and each one of them had a part to play in the times we missed out on silverware no matter how good they are subsequently. Does RVP want to say that all his goals were scored by his efforts alone?

What arsenal needs now are players who are willing to stay the course SIMPLES. We cannot continue to bleed talent and win anything but if he is not willing to do that let him get the eff out. Arsenal take care of their players and they show loyalty, its about time a player gives something back jare
But is the team winning anything? is the team likely to win anything?
which yeye loyalty u dey show, if u had money to spend and were willing to spend it, would you put up with nonsense like aaron ramsey and diaby? stay the course ko, cousin nii.

since when do u hear fellow feeder teams whine about players leaving? u don hear ajax complain say their star player wan go? they know they are a selling club. ARSENAL IS A SELLING CLUB!!!

your stingy arse club and its management refuse to spend, (whether rightly or wrongly), look at the current crop of misfits and smallies and tell themselves that for the price range and wages they pay these boys, they are the best around. fact.

Matter of fact i believe this is a point you often make. . . . . . . that for example, for 2.5 million and at 21 years a player like ramsey is the best you can get for that price point!! so u justify and perpetuate the nonsense.
which is precisely what wenger says when he yarns his rubbish about finding quality in the market. he wants a player better than what he has, at exactly the same price point or lower. thats his definition of quality!!

when the player develops beyond that price point/wage and you start whining about club loyalty, WHAT LOYALTY? U THINK WHAT ARSENAL DOES IS BORNE OUT OF LOYALTY? YOU MUST BE HIGH ON COW PISS

ComputersKinect?? Lame... Try The Leap by 4llerbuntu(op): 6:59pm On May 21, 2012
‘The Leap’

The $70 ‘Leap’, which isn’t much bigger than your average USB dongle, connects to an existing computer or laptop USB port of a laptop or PC to create an interactive three-dimensional space said to b ’200 times more accurate’ than existing devices.

This 4-cubic feet squared field can be manipulated using fingers or other implements such as pencils.

In fact, so precise is The Leap that the company behind it claim that it can accurately register the sharpened tip of a pencil to 1/100 of a millimeter – making it perfect for pixel-perfect digital drawing, or signature signing.

http://www.youtube.com/embed/_d6KuiuteIA

Such precision opens up a world of potential for The Leap – far more than swiping and pinching your vacation photos or playing Angry Birds:

Precise virtual drawing in 2-D and 3-D
Signing a digital document by writing in air
Navigating large-scale 3-D data visualisation systems
Creating and manipulating 3-D models like houses and cars
Playing computer games, including fast-twitch first-person shooters
“It’s more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touchscreen. For the first time, you can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.” says Leap Motion’s CEO Michael Buckwald.

And if it’s as responsive in ‘the wild’ as it is in the video demo then The Leap could one day find itself used as the definition of ‘game changer’.

trainingict: 4llerbuntu,

Firstly, as a system integrator of diverse experience covering active directory, router and firewall, if a workstation is in windows 2008 (r2) or even any version domain, it is easier to connect using RDP, real VNC and other 3rd party software
provided you are part of the domain or in the IP subnet of that network. From outside, you need connection to the network
which requires administrative username and password or an account that has been created for you on that system or in active directory. 127.0.0.1 is a loop back ip address which is the default IP address of all network card when an IP address has not been configured statically or by dhcp. Therefore it is not part of the subnet of the system you want to access. A full explanation is required.

you may send mail to me with full explanation on trainingict@excite.co.uk or 08033737534,07082375805
bros so na becos of dis u throway all dis grammer?

but you have just said what i have been saying naw, must i use technical language before i ask my innocent questiions?

ok simply put, i want to access my workstation on the subnet

i have my account and password on the server

i have the admin username and password.

yes i know how to RDP ON THE INTRANET, im talking from outside. i do believe i mentioned that 127.0.0.1 is the loopback somewhere......

anyways...... tell me here if u know, i aint sending u any mail.

manmustwac: What the fvck are you doing here anyway? Is this the a.r.s.e a.n.a.l. section? If this is a kitchen then its my kitchen because i opened it so i have every right to be here. If you want me to get out of my own kitchen (that i opened)then i have every right to have it closed down first. I try hard to ignore you gay a.r.s.e a.n.a.l. fvckers but it obviously will never work. And when i try to fight fire with fire you start to accuse me as usual of being the troublemaker.
mcheew! yimu

olodo na im u be, simple, like adegoat ' D
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by 4llerbuntu(m): 9:42am On May 19, 2012
ZIM DRILL: i even wanted to comment but i was too lazy the 1st question is why does s/he talk to the adminstrator of the pc or server he wants access
i can do that, but u see what would i be asking from the admin? i have access to d server myself, i have the admin creds, i can access the server from outside myself.

its the next step im not clear on. that is accessing a pc on the same lan as the server DIRECTLY, from outside via VNC

this is beginning to sound shady sef, cheesy
HealthRe: Federal Doctors In Lagos Begin Solidarity Strike For Sacked Colleagues by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:22pm On May 18, 2012
ok, this is all about more money right?

fine.

but after paying these doctors more money, will the equipment they need to work also magically appear in the hospitals? will the hospitals expand, and multiply to help the congestion issues?

i think the answer to that is no, therefore they will get paid like double their current wages for doing the same things they have been doing, in the same useless work environments, with the same absence of meaningful equipment to justify their white coats and lofty title!!

i wonder why fashola simply did'nt offer to sack half of them and use their salaries to double the ones remaining. im sure this greedy arses would have taken that deal!

like how many professions in this country earn anything near what these docs earn now? i need examples.

last week they were comparing their wages to that of politicians! like bloody hell!!
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by 4llerbuntu(m): 7:54pm On May 18, 2012
denzel2009: My friend you are better of using 3rd party application like teamviewer or logmein. Don't be a cheapskate!

If you have server 2008 r2 and client pcs running windows 7, you can make use of the embedded remote desktop in win 7 but it's still kind of hit and miss cos you still have to do some tweaking on all the machines.

Those applications would bypass all the restrictions of using an embedded RDP and give you hitch free remote connection. Most companies use logmein or teamviewer.
i could have predicted your answer, honestly grin grin grin grin

i know. i think my point really is either way, is there a way to reach my computer from outside the LAN.
i dont know if im making any sense or asking the right question anyway.

but my point really is: the computer i want to access, (incidentally from my android phone) is not connected to the internet directly. it has ip assigned dynamically by a router and all the systems on the LAN have one common gateway, i.e the server, at least to the outside world. its the server that shares internet so either way u either get the local ip address or 127.0.0.1!

is there a way to connect to that pc? i can get credentials for the server, i have admin privs, (im a noob no vex). i can RDP to the server incidentally, but i want access to my specific workstation.

i know there are many network admins on this NL, make una help ur guy na.
NO VEX, Im JUST A VERY PESKY NOOB cheesy cheesy
