@dayokanu there are like 5-6 new players on the pitch, its even remarkable they played like this.

arteta's ball retention is astounding, he will do quite well in europe.

frimpong is, crude. did he play like this in the reserves? im worried we havent scored, nerves may soon set in.

well i disagree.

yes its not like he had no knowledge of the deals, but they were not what he wanted, and he did not negotiate.

its clear this time around he let the financial guys do the dealing, he gave them a list.
they failed to get any of his choices and had to do buy so that there should at least some momentum.

all those guys said the deals were not new. ever per said they came early in the summer to enquire, but he was never bothered cause it didnt seem concrete enough.
arteta said he came a week earlier, but the price everton quoted was not agreeable. he left without making a new bid

benayoun was a result of having not gotten any midfielder, they had to get someone, even without a medical

even you agree that the last person wenger would sign, even on loan in the circumstance was benayoun. he'd rather promote and play one of his smallies

FFS, even the dunce of a chairman said he did'nt know much about the players but he knew they would help, oponu buruku.
every player wenger ever bought, he stood by them mand u could see he was wenger's choice publicly. this set, he is very quiet, almost like he didnt know them!!!!!

wengers 1st choices were Mvila, Hazard, Cahill, Gervinho. the club failed to deliver them cos of stinginess.

im not wenger's biggest fan, but even i am not blind to the subtle nuances all around.

One of the Gunners' most turbulent summers in living memory saw them lose key players Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy to other clubs, with an 8-2 defeat at Manchester United adding extra embarrassment.

Wenger managed to salvage something with a flurry of deadline-day signings, though, and will task his new players with restoring the club's title credentials.

He admits, however, that the past weeks have been a struggle.

"In my job, you expect to suffer. So that's why when I go to hell one day, it will be less painful for me than you, because I'm used to suffering," he told a number of national newspapers.

"I could write a book about the summer. It was the most disturbed we have had since I have been here.

"The book would be quite an interesting read. Not because of me, but because of all that happened. It was unbelievable."

does he want us to pity him? grin grin grin grin grin

i suspect the chap wasnt going to sell fab or nas, and also was'nt going to buy either

seems the folks undermined him a bit. that last day thing was particularly worrisome. i hear he was'nt even around that day.
since then he refused to say a word till yesterday.

arteta confirmed he came with a bid one week to deadline, got turned down and did'nt return.
also hear per mertersacker was like his 3rd choice for CB, he wanted cahill, board refused to match bolton's valuation.
wanted mvila, and was actually on his case till deadline in france but did'nt get him either.

got into a row over improving the wage budget and didnt get his way

then rumours surface of his leaving. . . . . . . . . . .

either way u look at it, its more likely this season will be the last. . . . . . . finances are healthier and he apparently wants a lil change, but the board don't seem to mind either way, until it became apparent after OT debacle that they were sliding and gonna lose a heck of money.

those deals were'nt wenger deals, clearly. things are changing

wonder why you guys even bother.

do u actually expect pple like donkeys & co. to understand what trademark infringement suit is?

a club with a well established tradename and mark who incidentally deals in merchandise such as hats, jerseys, etc etc with the clubs name has sued a potential competitor who actually runs a shop by the name of the club.

i suppose its not too hard to understand why there is a conflict, especially when there is nothing precluding this shop owner from selling hats with the arsenal name on it.

but of course, this type of reasoning is above dummies to understand

Politics › Re: Nitel: Fg Brainstorms On Globacom's Offer by 4llerbuntu(m): 10:12am On Sep 09, 2011
ManXTreme:
Monopoly. Have you ever heard of the term monopoly, this is not to say, that is entirely a bad thing, but when NITEL (first national carrier) and GLO (second national carrier) are placed in one individual hands, what now is the reason for calling it national carrier?
Yes NITEL has become a liability, but for the sake of Nigerians, make NCC stronger otherwise, i can beg that within 2 years of operation, we would be paying the highest telecoms bill in the continent (check out Cement prices under the national carrier - Dangote)
hmmn, firstly what is nitel carrying?

who still uses notel to carry anything internally and externally? bros nitel exists in name only.
what anybody is buying in nitel is the name, the licenses, and the real property.

so that point is moot, already Glo is practically the only National Carrier in Nigeria.

secondly, what ever happened to the Flygerian rhetoric? or u mean the "lets keep it nigerian" brigade has gone out of business?

frankly, u cannot mean to tell me u believe selling Nitel to chinese or whatever foreign company is a better idea than selling to Glo.
Glo is not doing badly for a nigerian company, whatever reservations you may have about the way its run.

selling a practically dead national asset to a nigerian company is not a bad idea. besides, Glo has to follow through, its not like some people in yellow and red who came with briefcases and can leave at the drop of a hat.   u want anor circus a-la econet? cos thats whats gonna happen when u sell to foreigners who dont really know what they are getting into.

multilinks-telkom rings a bell?

besides, you and i know the deal has been concluded and what is left is to give it PR laundering.

Run far from it, the X10 is so good on paper, however everyday use leaves much to be desired. The fact that Sony Ericsson hasn't been able to provide timely updates for the device since it's launch years ago makes the Sony Ericsson X10 look more like a dinosaur in 2011.
nah, funny thing is its actually updated to 2.33 GB officially.

Roms for 2.35 exist and the only non working thing is tethering. which will be solved soon anyways.
the MIUI rom for it is absolutely fantastic.

or u can just use the latest MIUI 1.92 that one works fully.

the thing abt the fone is, get it up to gingerbread.
root it.

remove timescape, touchnote, office, and a whole lot of other stuff u dont like or need. after dealing with it myself i end up with the OS like 95mb on the hardware.

then get urself Titanium backup pro, freeze the remaining crap like sync and setup help rubbish.

then install xrecovery (Gb zidzhu version), flash zdidzhu's fps uncap, bravia engine and audio stutter fix.

GBAM. the fone will be the bestest u ever used. U CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK!!!

except of course battery, which is every android user's gripe. just do the usual, disable radios when not in use, turn down the screen brightness.

i get a whole day from my battery now, calls and light use.

5hrs 3.5G browsing if thats what i wanna do

video watching, like 6 hrs etc.

just read the much heralded goal.com article.
in the 1st place i cannot even believe that goal.com is the basis for an argument, as in really? ibime level opinions?

then again, pls the article does not say the chap is bad, it says the chap is not good IN PARTICULAR FORMATIONS/TACTICS.

thats definitely a guy who can prove very useful in particular instances. eg, if we had him in the useless defensive setup v barca last season in camp nou instead of the mumus that played.

anyway, say whatever u will. are we supposed to sell him without his having played a game?
PS: i challenge DK to give us a list of the useless german players now, before we buy anor. pretty sure  if mario gomez shows up at arsenal, everybody will remember he has no pace, cant shoot outside the box and cant head.

EXCERPTS FROM THE SO CALLED ARTICLE

"In the right context, Mertesacker is a top class defender. This has been quite evident in the past, particularly at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. But without the exact appropriate conditions, the Hannover native’s effectiveness plummets.

Whenever he has been successful, Mertesacker has played under a coach who emphasises defensive work from all his midfielders, alongside a very particular type of partner, and in a team that leaves minimal space between the defensive midfield and centre-backs. In other situations, he struggles.

Case in point: Tuesday’s draw with Poland. As of late, Joachim Low has employed a 4-1-4-1 formation, opting to remove a defensive midfielder from his previous 4-2-3-1 in favour of having an even spread of five defensive outfielders, and five attackers. With Mats Hummels and Holger Badstuber at the back, Germany had little trouble dealing with counter-attacks in wins against Brazil and Austria. But with Mertesacker and Jerome Boateng in the interior of defence against Poland, they were ripped apart. In addition to their two goals, the hosts saw half a dozen clear chances go begging. Moreover, it was the Arsenal man (as well as right-back Christian Trasch) who was most often the culprit in the German defence.

Mertesacker needed another holding midfielder ahead of him, and certainly one more effective than Simon Rolfes. What’s more, he required a more aggressive partner than Jerome Boateng to track Robert Lewandowski and engage the striker as the 'first' defender. Mertesacker had such a midfield in Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira, and the right partner in Arne Friedrich at the 2010 World Cup, and his quality shone forth: Germany conceded just three times before being knocked out by Spain in the semi-finals.

Just months later, at Bremen, Mertesacker was part of one of the worst defences in the Bundesliga. The reason? His partner, Naldo, missed the vast majority of the season, and the rapidly declining Torsten Frings was no longer able to provide cover in defensive midfield. "

Arshavin primary, and probably only problem is LAZINESS.
forget all this tactics talk, the laziness has resulted in serious loss of form and gumption.

as for this mertesacker issue, na wah o

@DK, is he slower than squillacci? is he slower than senderos was?

secondly, will he make the same type of useless mistakes and errors like squilacci?

your answer to this will color my next deduction(S)

cos i am beginning to wonder if your footy knowledge is not slipping. i say this because you have harped so many times how the german national team/ german sides are way better than english and even other european sides.

how is it that this "no testing" got into that german team so consistently? surely that only shows that the team is actually shyte no?

can u say honestly that he is not an upgrade on squillacci? if he is, then u got no point, the aim was to improve the team, if he is better than the person he intends to replace then QED.

its 2 years old. it has even worse battery life than the average android.

its a sturdy, strong fone, no doubt
, but its rather at the end its its cycle. i found that the price is actually still that high really but dude, go buy a desire or captivate or any much newer 2011 android with all that money.

infrastructure, overhead bla bla bla.

continue trying to console yourself and assuage your ego as to why you are being fleeced.

once upon a time, this same line was used to convince us to pay 50 bucks per minute. now its averagely 20 bucks, has the infrastructure improved? is the overhead cost lower?    but profitability is going up no?

if its so hard to do telecoms business in nigeria, yet MTN is declaring billions in profit, that type of "hard" business is what i wanna be doing.

so if all this excuses u chaps are saying dont exist, they will be declaring trillions?

believe what you will. i dont begrudge them that much, if we are too stoopid to help ourselves, we should not expect foreigners to come help us.

BTW, since the much heralded cables have landed in nigeria, has the costs of internet gone down at all?  please remind us with dates and figures.
at least before then, we heard so much about how the none existence of the cables were responsible for costs.

even though we all publicly know that main one has reduced the cost of bulk connectivity by at least 20-30 percent, and Glo-1 even lower.

as per tax, boo hoo. dem for dey do business for free na. other companies dont pay tax? do u realise the tax rates for telcos in nigeria is actually very low?

if tomorrow, we get 24 hrs power etc etc, we can simply expect MTN to wait 2 years then do a promo "dashing" us extra 3mb on any bundle grin grin grin

forget this talk abeg, as long as we don't have people who care sufficiently enough in government to curtail the crass profiteering, dream on
