duwdu:Curious. Which device do you use that uses just band 8 or allows you to specify Band 8? I've suspected this difference n performance in the bands too. Especially when you are far from the mast only band 3 will.get to you. It goes further I can do that on my phone but I'm not ready to turn my phone into modem. Sure way to kill the battery |

oyb:In my experience, most people don't have machines powerful enough to run VMs properly. And between guest additions etc, setting one up ends up being even more complicated. |

cool318:he has to be technically savvy. otherwise, there's no point in attempting this. ordinarily he should just copy out his files to an external drive, and install the Linux. But i'm guessing that's not an option, so he should partition the hard drive in windows 8. E.G He has one hard drive partition labelled C:/ if he partitions it, it will create another partition D:/ and he will now have C and D partitions copy the files he wants to keep into the newly created empty partition D:/ Install Linux into the partition C:/ containing windows. Ensure he is careful during installation to not format the whole drive, and to only install Linux in the first partition C:/ After booting Linux successfully, he can then copy the files in D:/ into the partition containing Linux Then delete/format D:/ and reclaim the space. If any of this sounds complicated, or difficult he should not attempt it, cos he WILL lose everything on the drive |

If you are broadcasting another person's stations(not the ones you created yourself) are you not going to get it from a feed from another satellite? I'm asking because I always thought it was normal. The BBC and CNN on DStv for example, is it not from another satellite they pick the signal? Do they have broadcast equipment inside CNN studio? |

They never said it will magically disappear or stop working. If in doubt, uninstall the one you have there and try to reinstall and activate. Then you will confirm whether they are lying |

gamyy:No. No coreldraw/ photoshop. There are alternatives but you'll have to learn them, and they may not have all the features you are used to. There are also ways of running Windows applications on Ubuntu, but being a newbie, the whole setup might be too much for you to handle. If you really are interested in Ubuntu, Learn how to dualboot it with your current windows. That way you can learn how to use it gradually and see if you'll like it, And also still have your current windows setup for your work. |

I've always said my primary problem with them isn't price. its the RUBBISH QoS. 3G networks are better than Ntel. And that makes the price illogical. When you consider the QoS it becomes even more ridiculous to spend 17,500 per month on internet for leisure. at least that's what i use my personal connections for. Rather spread it between 2 or 3 providers to ensure seamless uptime |
