3W is almost 180degrees opposite the position where 28°E, 36°E is .

I know because I had to move my dish to track it.

So i have my doubt about this talk of combining 3w with other SATs facing E.

Yes you suppose to. Or just make 28 as primary. Attach 16 below it and 42 with 55 above it. Nothing so special at 5e
4W on that same dish?

Nope

If you check that link and use the filter on the listed African countries you will find that Canal + is consistently listed.

Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, GHANA, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Malawi, Madagascar etc.

ALL 'SUB SAHARAN AFRICA'

The list is there. Use the filter to verify

So much for 'exclusive'

If Canal + we're to decide to come to Nigeria, you will stop them from broadcasting Premier League in French?

Just because no one has asked questions or challenged the narrative before does not mean the narrative is 100% accurate.

DSTV sub saharan anglophone is exclusive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Premier_League_broadcasters
Hope that helps too. See the list of sub saharan broadcasters. You claim to be a legal person, but i am disappointed, can't say much. Let me reiterate, you ca't sub license in a region your jurisdiction does not cover. Supersport can't sub license in algeria, same goes for beIN. Tstv is dead on arrival, we that have paytv experience knew this from day scratch. They promised premiership, la liga and champions league for 3k and i wondered how.. tell how is that going to work
You posted a Wikipedia link.(not credible, but even at that, let's accept it)

On that page, 3 broadcasters are listed for sub Saharan Africa.

But you say DSTV is 'exclusive'. I don't know about you, but that's not what 'Exclusive' means.

See : http://www.dictionary.com/browse/exclusive?s=t

Secondly, you don't really have to resort to ad hominems.
It's an intellectual conversation.

Your disappointment in my knowledge of legal issues is of no moment. Basically, na your problem be that.

You've been asked to put up proof of your acclaimed knowledge, you've posted Wikipedia. Then we discuss the applicability and validity of your source. That's all.

Incidentally that Wikipedia page uses the premier league website page I earlier said was deleted as it's source.

The fallacy in your argument about region is that you've said the rights are for sub Saharan africa. Which would mean everywhere except North Africa.

If your link shows there's 3 broadcasters for subsaharan Africa , how is any of them restricted in that same sub Saharan Africa?

If DStv can sub license, why can't those other 2 broadcasters?

I can make arguments to suit your point of view easily too.
Anyone reading can easily distill a few

But you see, like I've been saying WE ARE ONLY SPECULATING.

YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING FOR A FACT,

I DONT KNOW ANYTHING FOR A FACT

That said, since this has taken the ABUSE THEM, Bleep is dead on arrival approach, I would prefer to forego this conversation.

I don't work for tstv or market for them. It's not my business whether they sell or not cos my money is not involved.

Hopefully you can say the same for DStv.

I have no idea how the UCL rights work, so I can't comment on point 1, but for point number 2, Multichoice have the exclusive license for Nigeria. The only way to legally air EPL games in Nigeria is to sub license from DSTV.

Why does he have to 'provide proof' for this assertion?
Because I can also simply state that the reverse is the case.

In the absence of any validation it's simply your assertion against mine.

I
Where is the source of your knowledge that they have 'Exclusive'?

I already posted a press release on the premier league site that does not use the word 'Exclusive'

And we also know other people broadcast in Africa as demonstrated above listed on Premier League's site

Meanwhile, is the license now sub Sahara or Nigeria?

I don't care either way, but these blanket assertions are funny to me.

Canal + has francophone agreements , our next door neighbors Cameroon Benin rep. Watch canal+
You need a better understanding of how this agreements work. Do you know there is another provider servicing Portuguese speaking African countries
There's even yet another servicing certain non mainstream commercial customers. There's Sport 24 servicing ships

Do you now agree that the statement about DStv having 'exclusive' sub Sahara rights is NOT absolute?

And if it's not absolute, why do you think these other francophone, Portuguese and even Arabic broadcasters can't have sub licensees in Africa?

The only way to be sure that this is not possible, is to take a look at the contracts.

You cannot see the contracts because they are confidential with Non Disclosure clauses.

So you see, it's really not as clear cut as y'all make it seem. You can only speculate.

NB: I'm pretty sure I know know how contracts work better than you do, because I do that stuff for a living.

And it's funny that you keep referring to contracts YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN AND WILL NOT SEE to discount arguments.

Guesswork will never replace cold hard facts. Put up.with facts or admit you are speculating. End of.
TV/MoviesRe: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:13pm On Nov 27, 2017
meanwhile,

1 Official premier league press releases don't ever use the word "Exclusive" for Supersport rights. I stand to be corrected by an example.

2. I know for a fact that 2019 - 2022 auction is yet to be done, but somehow

the article that they posted for the 2016 - 2019 rights http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2015-16/premier-league-international-rights-deals.html has been deleted from their site

there's a new article https://www.premierleague.com/news/367485 on Premier league site posted 4th October 2017 stating that Supersport has extended their deal until 2022. which effectively means the price they pay will stay the same.

this is very weird for a Premier league that is completely focused on increasing the amount it makes from rights as they've always stated.
moreover, how u dey 'award' rights before the auction has taken place and rival bids entertained?

Interesting that this took place in October immediately TSTV launched. interesting sha, either way.

i'm just here waiting for the magic they will use to combat online streaming

at the bolded. Dstv, owns the right for sub saharan africa. my comment earlier was, you can sub licence in a region not under your jurisdiction. Kwese also has rights to air premiership and champions league, but not in sub saharan africa, same goes for canal+ , startimes and bein sports. Hope i made myself clear
grin grin grin

Kwese and Canal+ don't operate outside sub-saharan Africa. They definitely don't operate in north africa. see example in attached screenshot

So i don't understand these absolute statements you keep making.

Like i said earlier, you could point us to documentation that proves this thing you are saying.

meanwhile, do you know there's a language component to broadcast rights? like For instance Canal+ don't do English commentary broadcasts?

anyway, at this point, i'm open to concrete facts and not a layman's interpretation of a contract he has never seen or read. there's a reason why TV rights are very opaque. Even Multichoice has never ever announced how much it paid for rights.

anyways, for 2019 - 2022 Facebook, Amazon and Google are likely to jump into this fray, so all this will soon be moot cheesy

TV/MoviesRe: Where Is TSTV by 4llerbuntu(m): 7:29pm On Nov 27, 2017
jayson87:
Just an education, TSTV can sub license from Dstv not Bein to show premier league in nigeria. You don't sub license from someone who doesnt have the rights to broadcast in a region you are domiciled. This is what Nigerians failed to realise. DSTV doesn't have an issue with TSTV, they will rather sue barclays and beIN
1. you were actually talking about Champions League and i specifically quoted that .......... now you are talking Premier League sad sad

2. can you back up this your assertion with concrete facts or documentation you can refer us to?

NB: i am speaking from a legal background basis. its not what you *think* it is, but it actually is, and you can prove.

meanwhile, make more findings, Premier League sold 3 tier rights. Multichoice is not the only one with rights in Africa....

3. is there a particular reason you are so emotionally invested in this TSTV/DSTV issue? because it appears you are from your posts, and i can't fathom why.....

They said FUP e.g. 7-Day Plan- 5GB

which means that if you exceed 5GB daily, you need to wait till 00:00 hrs (12 midnight); to reset the FUP;
until then your speed will be throttle to say, 2Mbps. It doesn't mean after 5GB you wont be able to browse anymore.
Of course you will, just slower download speeds after FUP !!!
7 days x 5 GB = 35 GB download at fast speed . . .
Then you can browse unlimited at normal speed for the 7 days
It's way better than having to subscribe to a fixed data cap.
Lol

Ntel FUP throttling is 64kbps bros. anyone who experienced it when they tried it the first time can confirm it to you

and depending on how much its priced, that 7 days plan CANNOT be 35 Gb

Matter of fact, i'm pretty sure its still 5GB, just lasts 7 days instead of 2.

If it were 35GB then how does any of the other plans make sense? u think they are doing jamboree?

lol.

You won't need to install drivers for 99.9% of hardware.

You'll MAYBE (if you really want, not that you need it) install drivers for a high end Video Card or a Printer

and those have automated tools for driver installation.

other than those, the only other thing i can think of is maybe an obscure USB Modem or mifi
