The redmi note 5 pro is the Indian variant of the Chinese redmi note 5.


What you need to be looking at is the global version of the Chinese redmi note 5 which has all our LTE bands except glo.

The mistake we make here on this thread is calling it RN5 pro.

I've been checking and it's seems strange to me that note 5 Pro supports just 4 LTE Bands and 5Plus supports about 12.

I was talking about VoLTE, not getting ntel network to be stable.

By the way, i've come up with a faster, better and simpler way to get ntel working on Xiaomi devices, and it works on all miui roms, whether on sim 1 or 2. I'll make a video and post it.

Not like it suddenly became so awesome, but at my end it did improve from the 60kbps thingy.
And it's not unlimited plan too BTW. You know the unlimited plans are throttled.

You can't be using both bands at the same time, your phone switches between either band quietly

Using both bands is called Carrier Aggregation LTE-A and that's only possible with certain modems.

And you'd definitely not be seeing speeds less than 200Mbps - 1 Gbps if you were actually on LTE-A.


What Ntel claims to have and what they actually have are 2 different things entirely.....

What I learnt was that lower frequency are better, why is Ntel own different or there was an issue with the band 8, cos band 8 used to be better..

Interesting discovery this evening.

Ntel has 2 active LTE bands.

Band 3 1800+ Mhz and Band 8 900Mhz

I found a way to force my phone on either band for testing.

Band 8 is terrible. Slow. Poor signal quality

Band 3 is much better. Waaaaay better..

I'm willing to bet those people who have decent Ntel speeds are the ones who are on band 3.

But thing is, the quality on each band may differ according to your area sha.

And this works only on phones as far as I know

If your device doesn't have a "4g LTE only" option in network mode, it won't work.

I had same problem. My device only have "LTE/3g/2g (auto connect)" and it didn't work. Even the customer girl sef no fit make am work. But after some research, I found out the problem so I downloaded "ForceLTE" app in play store which basically keeps your device only in 4g LTE mode.

Once I did that, it started working.
