@Ikomi

For your suggestion to be accurate, Israel will have to occupy this Palestnian state and run its military. Which begs the question, why have a military if it's a mere offshoot of the Israeli military?

America did not ''broker'' peace with Germany so I don't see why have introduced the idea of a broker.

is Britain anymore of a democracy than Iran?

In Britain MPs are chosen by party wips to stand on behalf of the party, they are not elected by the grass root.
That's nonsense. If you are unable to get the go-ahead from a particular party's governing committee, you can always try your luck with another party. The fact that a party might pre-select its candidate is not the same as a group of clerics summarily banning aspirants from running for election.

The Supreme Ayotollah of iran is as unelected and the Queen of UK
What real powers does the Queen exercise compared to the Supreme Leader? The comparison is absurd.

The clerics in iran are as unelected as the House of Lords in UK?
Another absurd comparison. Most peers are the nominees of elected officials and the Lords pale very much in significance compared to the House of Commons. Incredibly stupid comparison.

There you go it had an army the surbodinate or the overseer should then be left for Palestianians to choose, but give it that fundamental sence of capability of self defence. Then we all know we have a state in terms of a state.
. . . . . because Germany and Japan chose to have the US run their military?  huh

Sense of self-defense? Their military was a mere adjunct of the occupying forces.

The comparison is very apt because like the Arabs, the Axis powers waged a war of annihilation which they lost. The victorious nations imposed a peace borne out of pragmatism. They were not wedded to naive notions of preserving the losing nations' sovereignty at all cost. That peace involved severely emasculating the former Axis powers' military capabilities for decades and counting.

you are not reading the thread. OTHER people (African Americans) tell me I look West African, because of how I look. Personally, no one in my family or even myself thought I looked different from most African Americans until THEY pointd it out to me. I never said that you cannot be lightskin and West African, I know race mixing happens in other places beside America. I know there are light complected Africans.
African-Americans know the difference between West Africans and other Africans?
@Richy and Ikomi,

Is having an Army more important than having a State?

They've had an army all along (militants some will say), but no State. If the sole aim is a State, why is the existing of an Army necessary?
Do you really need to ask that question? The debate is conducted under a false pre-supposition; that all the Palestinians want is an independent state living side by side with Israel. The fact is that they would rather be at war with Israel than have a state.

That a people facing a neighbor whose Govt includes a group sworn to its annihilation should not insist on de-militarisation is the height of folly

The example 4play gave was after world war II Japan and Germany have been reduced to rubbles, and we all know he who plays the piper dictates the tune, rebuilding Germany and Japan was left to the Americans, and still after all Hitler did there was nothing said about a demilitarized Germany, they still had an army.
What are you on about? The Germans and the Japanese were more than capable of rebuilding themselves without American help. West Germany had an army that was subordinated to the occupying powers, this is to say nothing about East Germany. If you are alright with that scenario, the new Palestinian state could have an army provided they are run by the IDF with tens of thousands of occupying Israeli troops.

You can't be too sure. I really need some stronger stuff.

Question: Who chooses those to run for party primaries in America?
You are free to run for office in the US without being subjected to the pre-approval of a body of unelected apparatchiks.

Are you comparing the US's democratic process with Iran's?
Foreign AffairsRe: Demilitarized State by 4Play(m): 7:05pm On Jun 16, 2009
Ikomi:
Limitations yes, non-existent is another thing. Iran must not have a Nuclear weapon, is a limitation, but not non-existent of a military force.
Germany and Japan had their constitution effectively written by US military commanders in addition to hosting hundreds of thousands of foreign troops. Bibi's proposals are nothing in comparison.

RichyBlacK:
How am I going to get some of that thing you're smoking? Seriously!
It's not as potent as the one that leads you to declare Iran a democracy.

If a nation is belligerent, its neighbors can rightfully insist on limitations to its military capabilities. History offers examples of this.

Prime examples, Germany and Japan had limitations on their military. If Palestinians' intentions are entirely peaceful, it would be more welcoming of this proposal. Palestinians would rather acquire weapons than acquire books or medicine

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A poll of Iran's electorate three weeks before its election showed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad leading by a 2-to-1 ratio, greater than the announced results of the contested vote, the pollsters said on Monday. The poll showed Ahmadinejad's disputed victory, which has sparked riots and demonstrations since it was announced, might reflect the will of the people and "is not the product of widespread fraud," pollsters Ken Ballen and Patrick Doherty said in a column in The Washington Post.

The election protests have marked the sharpest display of discontent in the Islamic republic in years as supporters of opposition candidate Mirhossein Mousavi alleged fraud in Friday's election.

"While Western news reports from Tehran in the days leading up to the voting portrayed an Iranian public enthusiastic about Ahmadinejad's principal opponent , our scientific sampling from across all 30 of Iran's provinces showed Ahmadinejad well ahead," the pollsters said.

Thirty-four percent of those polled said they would vote for Ahmadinejad while 14 percent preferred Mousavi and 27 percent were undecided.

The poll was conducted by their nonprofit organizations -- Terror Free Tomorrow: The Center for Public Opinion and the American Strategy Program at the New America Foundation -- from May 11 to 20 and funded by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

It was the third in a series of polls over the past two years and consisted of 1,001 telephone interviews in Farsi from a neighboring country, with a 3.1 percent margin of error.

"The breadth of Ahmadinejad's support was apparent in our pre-election survey," the pollsters said, rejecting arguments the poll might have reflected a fearful reluctance to give honest answers.

RichyBlacK:
Still some buffoons are still ignorant of the fact that Iran is a democracy!

Western media tried to hype up the chances of Ahmadinejad's opponents because of their biased views against him. Nejad has won the election and the West must stop their foolish conspiracy theories and try to promote even a shred of democracy in barbaric Saudi-Arabia, their ally.

They shout democracy all the time, however, when the outcome does not suit their toddler-driven foreign policies (selecting a subservient goon), they oppose the elections and bring up foolish allegations of mass rigging.
Ahmadinejad has won the election, albeit with a massaged margin of victory, but Iran is not a democracy. Not with a process that excludes those the Supreme Council don't think are sufficiently conservative.

I would say a lot of people litter the place with silly, childish rants . . . should we ban them, tell them to shut up and move on too?

Seun is not the one doing the banning, doubt he bothers about gifs since they are hosted by a third party. The only time i remember him complaining about such stuff was when people were uploading them directly on his server.

People need to take a chill pill. Let a girl play with her gifs.
Personally, I think posts, whether BecomeRich's maps or StarStruck's GIFs, which are sufficiently annoying to other posters run the risk of getting banned if enough people complain about them.  Seun's primary concern is to maximise the quantity of forumites. Ultimately, it's his forum, so however the banning process works, it's a waste of energy trying to debate why or who should get banned.

What is it with people treating this forum like their very lives depended on it?
That's self-contradictory. If Seun who presumably has the exclusive right to ban forumites decides to ban users of his forum for littering the place with GIFs, shut up and move on. Why would anyone start a thread to complain about a ban when the forum operates at the whim and caprices of the owner?
