babyosisi: Yeah it has a bad reputation based on a lie, peddled a misconception being peddled around. Peckham is no worse than you typical American ghetto, not even close. Second, Most Nigerians in the Uk don't live in the projects, that's another lie as a matter of fact, I personally don't know any Nigerian who lives in the project, I for example has never lived in the projects nor lived close to the projects.. I know many Nigerians do live in poor neighbourhoods and live on benefits (Nigerians will always find a way to abuse any privilege) but that's not the case for most Nigerians. First austerity measures are cutting the benefits now, they're also so small you can barely survive on them, It's designed that way to make people work. Only person of zero ambition can be contented with benefits. Another point to note is that the UK is a small country, small enough to fit into Texas so you have to put things into proper perspective. I haven't lived in the US but I've visited thrice, twice as a kid, once as an adult and I can tell you for sure that the only things I like about America are your wide roads and the size/cheapness of your foods. Even American made cars are kind of low standard, they don't have the exquisite touch of European cars. So stop comparing a densely populated country like the UK to a sparse country with wooden houses which get blow apart by typhoons or hurricanes. So of course Nigerians in the US don't have to live in the projects when they could just take their family zany go live in a wooden house in the middle of no where. For a country the size of the UK, it punches well above its weight. Believe this or not, the worth of the house I live in London, is enough to buy a mansion in a prime location in America. |

babyosisi: Nah! You're wrong again. There are no America-type ghettos in the UK, these are relatively safe neighbourhoods where you can ride your bike or walk around at anytime with no disturbance whatsoever. Those who become casualties like this young man are mostly the young ones who get themselves caught up in some nasty stuff. Though there are occasional crimes here and there, but nothing on the scale of America, not even close. This isn't America where there are more guns than people, where any lunatic can walk into a store and purchase an automatic rifle like a pair of sneakers & then walk into somewhere and waste people with it. The UK had zero tolerance for crime, just the mere info that you possess a gun, will get the authorities descending on you so fast, you'd actually think you're Bin Laden. |

babyosisi: Are you kidding me? Nah! You having a laugh ain't you? Are there any ghettos worse than the ones in Detroit, New Orleans, Baltimore, Chicago, New York.. Where guns, drugs are rife, and you could actually get shot 8 times in the back by a policeman or hit by stray bullet from a drive-by? Nah you're definitely having a laugh. The worse neighbourhoods in the UK, record lower crime stats than the the most peaceful neighbourhoods in America. |

Truckpusher: Lol Peckham is his domain (or at least used to be) of course he'd come calling, he got love for his town. Honestly though, I don't see why Peckham has such a bad rep among Nigerians, the place is home to many brilliant black minds, it's one of the most multi-cultural places in London, and the chics out there are stunning the houses there are not even cheap compared to some other boroughs in London. Though in some parts of Peckham, you might actually think you're on a street in Lagos but generally, the places is very lively and fun, far from the misconception that's being spread around. I enjoy going down there whenever I get the chance. There far dangerous places in London than Peckham, I can tell you that. I'm good!! How business going now your man Jonadaf*t is going? |

SirShymexx: Hahaha don't mind Truckpusher, he's trolling.. He never passes on the opportunity to talk smack about Peckham or London without proper knowledge of the reality... I've never known him to be puss*y-whipped or a woman-pleaser, but these days he's being too cozy with NL chics, he doesn't wanna hurt their feelings.. You can't blame a man for chasing pus*sy, that's one thing which has the ability to turn a man into a sissy. Dame Dash is a crazy, did you see his interview with the breakfast club? He subdued all of them, even Charlemagne was cool as a puppy... He took over the show & even used it as a platform to advertise his daughter's range of cookies loool Ebro wouldn't have been subdued like that. Thats sad!! A 20 year old who should be in Uni, killed just like that. Street deals gone wrong seems to be the main issue these days.. There was a similar incident last year in Edmonton, a 22 year old Nigerian dude was stabbed. They just revealed that his hit was ordered from prison, for robbing a drug dealer. |

DBestDoc: What about my comment didn't you understand or didn't you read the topic? Because you're basically repeating the same thing I said. The OP said his friend was being operated on the chest (or isn't it what he said? in that case, where was he being operated on) and thè surgeon asked him to hold the light to his chest. I said the only way he stays awake is if the operation on his chest is superficial or non-invasive. I know local anaesthetic can be applied to the area that's being operated (that's common knowledge) this comminuted used at the dentist. However local anaesthesia is not applicable in all cases, if I may ask, what part of your body was operated on? I bet it's your limb. Allow me to counter your experience with mine, in 2012 I had a brain surgery at one of the best hospitals in the UK, and one of the top neurology hospitals in the world... (Kings College Hospital to be precise). I was given general anaesthetic, it knocked me out in seconds, I was only told to count down from 10... That's the last thing I recall till I awoke hours later. My point is; no way a quack hospital without steady electricity can keep a patient awake while performing a chest operation. Performing an operation with torch light while sweat drips off the surgeon's face? Holy shi*t! That's the lowest thing I've ever heard, if that's true, then that hospital is a death trap |

SirShymexx: Lolz Truckpusher on the prowl again, bring with him chaos & brouhaha anywhere he goes @Truckpusher... Aren't you tired of dissing London, Peckham in particular? @Topic what did the young man do? Why was he killed? Surely it wasn't just some random attack.. They keep telling these youngins to stay out if trouble but they don't listen and yet they won't fortify themselves. When the chips are down, they're always the ones to fall. RIP to the young man anyway. There's no measure of the pain of losing a 20 year old who's just at the edge of being a man. |

babeface3: Shut up!! Can you and all the other ignoramuses on this thread shut the fuc*k up!! I get tired of seeing simpletons on this forum propagate ignorance. Except it was just a superficial or non-invasive surgery on the chest, it is safe to assume that it was a heart or lung surgery. In that case, it is a major procedure which requires the patient be generally anaesthetised and intubated. However, It is possible to perform major surgeries while the patient retains some level of consciousness. Typically, the patient will have to be heavily sedated to a point where they're just on the edge of consciousness... They can respond to basic commands, but nothing on the scale of holding a torch light into one's own chest while surgery is performed (are you insane?) This is complex procedure which requires a higher degree of sophistication, one a hospital which can't provide steady electricity, most certainly don't have. 1 Like |

Nihilist: That's dop*e!! The atmosphere would be electric.. Unfortunately, there are no Casinos around my area, and since the fight time in the UK is past midnight, it's highly unlikely any pubs would be open either so except any of my friends got plans, I'd be firmly rooted to the front of my TV Apart from Amir Khan (who's been inconsistent throughout his career) & Zab Judah, Danny Garcia is yet to face any notable opponent so I'd advice caution here. Same thing happened with Canelo Alvarez till he met Mayweather. I'd wait till Garcia defends his title against all the top ranked contenders first before rating him hence I still consider him a bright prospect. |

montelik: Really? Mayweather's defences are not as impregnable as they used to be, he got hit many times in his last two fights against Maidana.. Besides he's never faced anyone the calibre of Pacquiao so his defences haven't really been tested. Granted that Pacquiao was at a low point between 2011/2012, he came back strong in his last three fights, putting up impressive performances against Brandon Rios & Timothy Bradley (who'd previously defeated him) maybe the defeats he suffered was a good thing, that was his epiphany because he found himself afterwards, became a committed Christian, not like it has anything to do with this, but it's given him a greater sense of purpose. Maybe it will go down to the scorecards, maybe not! But it's going to be one hell of a fight, Mayweather's defences alone ain't going to cut it for him, he's going to be forced to come out and fight. 2 Likes |

Nihilist: Loool tyson won't just lose the fight, he'd be pummelled comprehensively and then knocked out. He's blabbed and blasphemed his way to this point, after eating those Klitschko jabs, he will regain his senses. Except he's no more the Tyson Fury I know as you said, I haven't seen him fight in a while so maybe he's transformed into a proper boxer. I actually noticed some improvements when he fough Chisora. Wladimir dominated this long due to the lack of worthy contenders, he's been able to hone his skills with mediocre fighters.... the guy is big, strong but also robotic and has a proven glass chin. He came at the wrong time when Americans had become too lazy to produce a real heavyweight fighter, I hope to see him lose before retiring, I'm pinning my hopes on Deontay Wilder. If you're that sure of Floyd then put your money where your mouth is, wager on him. after all he's the bookies favourite. 1 Like |

Nihilist: Which is why I find him boring to watch. I wanna see folks go into the ring with intent to do some serious damage not trying to win on point (oh how I miss the days of Mike Tyson)... that's what make an entertaining fight and this is why Manny would have to KO him. Floyd cannot hurt Pacquiao, that's a given so the question is; will he be able to keep his not-well tested chin away from manny's flurry of punches? Tyson Fury cannot fight shi*t!! He's a fraud, and the fact he's gotten this far, is testament to how weak heavyweight boxing has become. The guy is devoid of style or technique, zero footwork, he's tall and awkward, he once mistakenly punched himself in the face.... C'mon this guy is a fuc*king joke compared to previous British champions, someone like Lewis or Haye could have had him for breakfast. Beating washed up fighters like Derek Chisora and Audley Harrison don't make him a good boxer. I saw the Chisora fight, and I must say it seemed as if Chisora was drunk before entering into the ring. It was a docile version of Chisora that showed up that night, not the same Chisora who face Vitali. The only thing working for him is his height and size which obviously give him the power. Most of his opponents are hardly tall enough to connect with his chin. Klitschko however is a different story, they're almost the same height so that would count for nothing..it will be down to skill and endurance. The beating will be so bad, you're going to say I told you so. 5 Likes |

T3Amo: This androgenic looking chic thinks she's Queen of sheeba, for fuc*k sake she's 33 years old and 6 ft 3... for a woman, thats a proper giant height, she's as tall as that freak lady from Game of Thrones. Shi*t!!! I'm not even that tall, I'm 6 ft 1/2 without shoes, but fairly buff so I'd say I'm hardly intimidated by a woman's height but I just don't like the idea of dating a taller chic, it looks weird. I don't want to be walking around with some female Lebron James. This chic can put African men on blast all she wants but the truth is that most guys won't go anywhere near a chic that tall, it's unfortunate that at 33 she's yet to figure that out, she's proud to say she wears heels, making her anywhere near 6 ft 6 damn!!!! The earlier this deluded chic drops her lofty standards, the better for her. She should temper that height and age with a meek attitude 3 Likes |

Nihilist: Of course Mayweather avoids taking the hard knocks, that's why I'm not a big fan of his, this is exactly why boxing is declining. A true champion doesn't select fights, but fights anyone put in front of him. How do you know Mayweather is in better shape? Rumour has it that he was KOed in training by Zab Judah (a much slower southpaw) he's hands are weak so he's chopping wood as part of his regimen, his muscles take longer to recover hence he has to resort to using cryogenic saunas to shorten his recovery time.... How the hell is he in better shape than Pacquiao? PAC is in prime condition, his foot work is great, his punch combinations and hand speed is impeccable, it's like he got better in his last 3 fights especially against Brandon Rios. I said the same thing about Anthony Joshua, you don't need that much muscle in boxing, it slows you down, and even makes you tire quick. He should ask Frank Bruno Hahahaha Tyson Fury is a joke, an embarrassment to the profession. How the hell did that clown get this far? He's just a big, tall, sloppy loud mouth. Wladimir Klitschko will beat the living daylight out of him. 7 Likes |

Nihilist: Hahahaha that's where the real boxers are separated from the pseudo ones. Lots of people join a boxing gym with hopes of one say boxing professionally but after that first knockout, many take flight. Those who stay, are the ones with the heart. I once took part in a routine boxing training session and I found it to be the most gruelling of all the sports I can think of. About the fight, Manny is old and a politician and a basketballer. Floyd is older. Floyd can smell victory cos like like Anthony Joshua, he picks fights he can never lose. Hahaha Anthony Joshua is just starting his pro career so of course they only select easy opponents for him so he can develop and stack wins under his belt. Soon enough he'd have to face a worthy opponent, only then will he truly be tested. Floyd accepted this fight because he couldn't run anymore, Pacquiao camp had accepted all his conditions and he knew he had to face Pacquiao before retiring if he's to secure his legacy. Pac lost to Marquez and then got beat by Tim Bradley. Granted Pac came back strong in the rubber, but it already obvious that we're looking at a great in decline Ok!! We'd see about that. You must remember unbeaten records are not what makes great champions but the heart and ability to bounce after defeats. Even Muhammad Ali lost a few fights in his career. Plus Kennny Bayless is the ref...That's like having two floyds in the ring. Perhaps! However this isn't the first time he'd be refereeing a Pacquiao fight besides there's only so much he can do, he's not going to stop those hooks and jabs from landing. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

A week from today, the eyes of the world will be on the MGN Grand in Las Vegas as unarguably the most anticipated fight of this Century since Tyson V Lewis finally comes to fruition. This is set to be the richest fight in boxing history, generating a whooping $300 million but much like Tyson-Lewis, this is a long over-due fight 5/6 years in the making. So the pertinent questions here are; will it live up to its hype? And what are we to expect come May 2nd. Both fighters are very different in style, Floyd is a defensive counter-puncher who's perfected the art of hitting without getting hit, while Pacquiao is a tenacious power puncher & more of risk taker who throws himself right into the mix. However the one thing both fighters have in common is speed. Floyd Mayweather steps into the ring with a slight height & reach advantage as well as an unbeaten record (which may also be a burden) while Pacquiao will for once relish the underdog status, thus lifting the weight of expectations off his shoulders. In my opinion, this fight could go either way, it's going to come down to which fighter shows up in better shape physically, psychologically and emotionally coupled with how well each fighter is able to deploy the most effective weapon in his arsenal. For Floyd, his elusiveness and for Pacquiao, his power. Most pugilist fans like myself hope for an explosive fight ending in a knockout and it's up to Pacquiao the more sensational fighter to make that happen. If Floyd is able to stop Pacquiao from getting inside and unleashing his vicious combinations, then we are in for a boring 12 rounds of Mayweather over-cautiousness, with the scorecards deciding the winner and we all know Pacquiao will never win a decision over Mayweather in Vegas. My heart is with Pacquiao as I always root for the underdog but my head tells me Mayweather. I'm contemplating wagering on Pacquiao but how do you wager against a man who's never lost? Which ever way it goes, only one man will make the transition from Champion to Legend. I created this thread so that fight fans on this forum (I hope they're still here) can have their say. Lets hear your per-fight analysis and predictions, are we going to witness an upset? If you had to, on whom are you going to wager & why?
