Romance / Re: Is It Compulsory For African Men To Kneel While Proposing Marriage? by 50calibre(m): 6:58pm On May 14, 2015 |
Lool I discovered that shi*t too. Africans are so inferior in their thinking pattern, Hollywood movies and TV shows are doing a job of brainwashing many Africans. I don't have to propose kneeling down, kudos to those who do but I don't see myself doing that. It is a western culture which is understandable given that fact most white men are typically effeminate, docile and subdued by their women. However it's a sacrilege for a testosterone-filled black man like me to kneel before a woman. Kneeling down to propose implies she's doing me a favour which is totally not the case. The willingness to get married to that person is what matters, not the proposal. |

Built2last: You sounded reasonable till the bolded. What possible reason could the west have for wanting to bring Nigeria down? Down from what anyway.. Corruption, terrorism, poverty? It's really amusing to see simpletons like you talk as if there's some grand western conspiracy against Nigeria. If for anything, you lot should be happy Buhari has started to claw back some international respect and recognition. 6 years of neglect has done Nigeria no good. |

Idiotic and desperate as this trekking idea may be, it is a direct consequence of poverty and joblessness. This fat boy seems far worse than his father. Despite western education and exposure, he's shown zero sense in diplomacy or leadership. He executes anyone he perceives a threat, including relatives, elderly and experienced figures who are there to advice him. He thinks fear can earn him unquestioned authority... Lol how naive of him. He's only fast tracking his downfall with these purges and executions. 1 Like |

Are Nigerians so inferior to the point where they readily adopt any alien culture they see? Even in the west, most women regardless of wealth or family status, drop their maiden name when they get married. Except your surname is Clinton, Kennedy, Dangote, Gates, or Buffet.. You have no excuse retaining your maiden name. This isn't about pride or power, it's about, uniformity, family one-ness and being on the same page. Personally, I don't really care if a woman choses to retain her maiden name, as a matter of fact, it makes it easier for us to live parallel lives, which I will appreciate a lot being a guy who enjoys keeping secrets. As long as my kids bear my name, I'm ok. |

Sorry but this guy is not Nigerian, stop the delusion. I find it amusing that this guy is being touted as the British Obama.... I'm afraid he's not. There may be certain similarities to Obama (especially in the area parentage and upbringing) but personality and character-wise, he's worlds apart from Obama. This guy is too posh, and also identifies majorly with his white side. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Tony Blair Wants Chuka Umunna To Be The Next Labour Leader by 50calibre(m): 10:51am On May 09, 2015 |
First!! Lets get one thing clear, the only thing Nigerian about this guy is the DNA he got from his father. As a matter of fact, he blames Nigeria for the death of his father. Tony Blair has a radical way of thinking, & that's what most people love about him however, this right here is nothing more than wishful thinking. The UK isn't like the US, this is a country that has been in existence for centuries (way longer than the US) and has never had a black person occupy any position of political significance. The UK has a very solid, long-standing aristocratic system which guarantees power remains within the so called "blue-bloods" and the privileged few (which are typically upperclass whites). This system is almost impregnable for a black man, you won't even be allowed to get close to a position where you might begin to pose a significant threat. Unlike the US which is more open and radical in various regards, the UK operates a very conservative society where political correctness, hypocrisy and window dressing matters a lot more than the real issues. Taking into account the UK is almost 90% white, most of which are inherently racist (though they conceal it nicely) the odds are really stacked up against ethnic minoritities. Personality-wise, Chuka Umunna is nothing like Obama, he's bland and uncharismatic. He's not the uniting force that Obama was, this guy barely relates with black folks (except maybe in his constituency) I'm not sure he's married, but if he is, then go check I'm sure his wife is white.... he's the type of nigga they call so uptight and almost white. Despite being a shadow-business secretary, he's almost invincible in the Labour Party structure, this is not a good sign. If there's ever going to be a black PM, it has to be someone charismatic with a bit of contemporary swag along with the zest and gravitas to unite people beyond racial and cultural boundaries, something close to a black Boris Johnson. When that person comes along (if that person is ever allowed to see the light of day) wake me up then. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Buhari Set Implement Dress Code For Journalists Covering Villa- NigerianTimes.ng by 50calibre(m): 12:51pm On May 06, 2015 |
mbatuku2: Shut up!! Where is urinating in public clearly identified by the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria? Some of you sound so inane at times. Buhari is well within his right to impose a dress code on journalists covering the number one office in the country. Aso Rock is the seat of power not a broth*el, it's authority & significance must be respected at all times, and that includes maintaining decency within its premises... That's how it should be, that's how it is in civilised environments. From your comments, you're obviously less exposed so allow me to enlighten you a bit. Suits are typically the dress code in official settings such as this, ladies skirts shouldn't be above knee level, no exposure of cleavages,..... These are just a few benchmarks I can think off. In civilised countries, journalists covering government residence are usually well and decently dressed, as a matter of fact, failure to wear the appropriate dress could see a journalist barred from entry into the premises or pass revoked. 1 Like |

edpunter: Nah!! Pacquiao won a couple of rounds too, 4,6, 9, 12 if I remember correctly. That's why I said they must have been phantom punches because it had no impact on Pacquiao's face. Besides, he didn't land up to 80% (he's not a machine), it was around 29%. Yeah Chelsea is a very good example here, they play so defensive, killing the beauty of the sport entirely. It's legal, it gives them the win but it doesn't do justice to the sport. You can see how many teams complain about Chelsea. |

edpunter: You don't seem to understand what I'm saying and I don't think you will. Yeah mayweather won the fight but it wasn't a sensational performance befitting of all the hype. That fight was actually termed "The fight of the century" looool what a joke. Mayweather won the fight because the judges said he did (Pacquiao was never going to win a decision over mayweather in Vegas anyway) but a lot of boxing heads disagree, even Mayweather's father said it wasn't an impressive fight. All those punches mayweather landed must have been phantom punches because Pacquiao was never in trouble at any point in the fight and came out of the fight looking pretty-faced. So much for the fight of the century. Pacquiao on the other hand was the agggressir throughout the fight and even landed more solid shots. Tyson-Holyfield was an epic fight, it was war, Holyfield was actually punishing tyson before the bitting incident. So not a good comparison here. Well I'm done talking this fight, it's past tense now, lets look forward to the future. If Mayweather really wants to silence the critics, then Pacquiao deserves a rematch but if he's happy with that performance, then he can retire in peace. |

omonnakoda: Shut up retar*d!! You didn't watch the fight, yet a boxing novice like you, thinks it's ok defend a mediocre performance just because you hear Mayweather fans doing the same? Do not be fooled, they know that performance was poor. I'm not aggrieved, I'm disappointed because I believe to whom much is given, much is expected but of course I don't expect you to understand any of that, it's apparent you've never excelled at anything in life. Your dad obviously had very low expectations of you, you're also a boy of low expectations but trying to knock someone else for having higher expectations is very lame and moronic of you. omonnakoda: Any boxer in the top flight earns more than an average person earns in a year. This fight generated so much money as a result of how long it took to make it happen. This is not like any other mayweather fight, this was his career defining fight against his arch nemesis who'd haunted him for years. One wouldn't be blamed for expecting an exciting fight given the Mayweather doubters, the animosity & bad blood between the two fighters (which should be enough to make a good fight). Mayweather had the chance to cement his authority as the pound for pound king by winning emphatically but all he did was run around the ring all night and then walked home with a 9 figure check. That's a typical example of an undeserved pay. I don't think you know what it means to not get your money's worth, I can bet my last penny that you didn't watch the fight & neither did you care about the fight to begin with. Unfortunately for boxing fans like myself, who've waited 5 solid years for this fight, this was an abysmal showing. I'm not an old man but I'm old enough to have seen some super-fights in my time and I can say for sure that this fight was undeserving of the hype and money involved. This is not about support for any fighter, I don't care who won or lost, it just wasn't an exciting fight.. period!! What we saw Sunday morning wasn't a Pacquiao loss but a boxing loss. Oh! Oh! And by the way, that your football analogy? It's lame. I can't even begin to tell you how lame it is. |

edpunter: Boxing involves trading punches, fighter are paid shi*t load of money to beat each other up not run scared and win on points. Strategy is key in boxing but the ultimate aim of every strategy should be to inflict punishment on the other fighter & then knock him out. Gone are the days when fighters entered into the ring with intentions to knock the other fighter out and prove he's the better man. Now fighters step into the ring with intentions of pillow fighting for 12 rounds and then get paid more than an average person earns in a lifetime. Fighter are paid that much because of the risk they take, you can't have it both ways. So if all you wanna do is strategise all day without actually fighting, then boxing is not the sport for you. 2 Likes |

tellwisdom: I tell ya!! I've never been this disappointed about a fight before. I knew heavyweight boxing was dull and boring but I though the lower weight classes still had a bit of excitement. I'm really pissed off with this fight, it was too much of a hype. No wonder boxing is on the decline, real fans know the the sport is dead. With the level anticipation and money attached to this fight, both fighters were supposed to put up a show no one would forget in a hurry. All the hallmarks if a great fight were missing; no knockdown, no moments which got people on the edge of their seats, no blood, no cuts, no swelling.. Nothing!! The cuts man on both side was on vacation, even that metal stuff used to massage swellings was never used. Both fighters came out looking pretty faced and they're going to have the guts to accept 9 figure cheques, especially floyd who takes home close to $200 mil for 36 mins of running around (more than most people will ever make in their lifetime) This is the biggest fraud in boxing history. http://twitter.com/_MarcusD_/status/594730887679348736/photo/1 2 Likes

SirShymexx: Ali's self proclaimed himself the greatest, and he very well lived up to it. He was a champion during something that was arguably the toughest era in boxing history, having to fight his way past some of toughest motherfuc*kers in the business. He defied so many odds to become champion three times. What has mayweather done? Unbeaten record doesn't make a fighter great, Joe Calzaghe retired with an unbeaten record (with a higher number of KOs than Floyd) does that make him the greatest? I disagree on Wladimir Klitschko, as boring as I find him, I've got to admit he's a professor of jabs. I don't know how you'd say he's a bum when he hasn't lost a fight (nor came close to losing a fight since 2005). Every opponent he's faced has been forced to eat those robotic jabs of his for 12 rounds (including Nigeria's Samuel peters). The guy is even more efficient that floyd. Vitali on the other hand, is a tougher fighter with a granite chin, he's never been down in his career. How could you say Lewis destroyed him when he was leading on all scorecards? He was a ministering punishment to lewis, barring a cut to the eye, he could have defeated Lewis. Lewis knew what could have happened that's why instead of granting him a rematch, he quickly retired and relinquished the belt. |

SirShymexx: What!! Mayweather was on the back foot all day long with Pacquiao chasing him around the ring like a little kid. Mayweather landed decent shots and so did Pacquiao... It's just that his volume of punches didn't match that of Mayweather. Of course I blame Pacquiao because he lost the fight. Mayweather played his part perfectly and won. Pacquiao actually showed some good defences yesterday despite the reach disadvantage but I blame him for not being much more aggressive. He shouldn't have allowed floyd maintain his distance from him, this is why he lost. He should have found a way to get inside and stay there. Floyd thinks every move through before executing. Don't give him time to think, stay on him like a fly, forget landing on his head, he protects it so much, throw body shots to soften him up and when he starts dropping is arms, bang!! To his head. Tyson's style is the answer to floyd. watch Tyson V Tyrell Biggs, you'd see how effective it is. There's Internet everywhere now, your kids will watch footages from various eras and tell you this fight was shi*t. I honestly don't see any difference between Floyd and W Klitschko.. If you can see any difference, I'm listening. 1 Like 1 Share |

SirShymexx: You see!! Be honest, will you place this fight in the same league as those fights? Do you think anyone will remember this fight 10 years from now? I don't get it when Floyd compares himself to Ali, that had to be the greatest blasphemy of the 21st century. Ali was a well rounded fighter, he excellent defences, he was fast, he knew when to go on the offensive, he had impeccable footwork ( if not the best) his shuffle is still imitated by fighters today... Ali was an entertainer, he even taunted folks in the ring. Oh!! and ali also had a decent punch that was known to open cuts on his opponent's face. Britain's own Henry cooper had a taste of this Floyd on the other hand, has no punching power, cannon throw more that two punches at a time, has this annoying thing he does with his shoulder like a guy trying to avoid getting hit by his girlfriend. It's funny how this crazy style works. Fighters just can't comprehend it's awkwardness so they end up losing. Boxing is dead!! 1 Like 1 Share |

And after the fight, both fighter came out looking pretty as ever? SirShymexx: No that's not how boxing has been. Never in the history of boxing has there been an era where fighters played it too safe. As much as boxing is about intelligence, trading punches was still a fundamental part of the sport. Every great fight I can think of had epic moments Ali - Frazier 1,2,3 Ali - foreman Hagler - hearns Schmelling - Louis Tyson - Holyfield Tyson - Lewis Frazier - Foreman I can go on and on. I can't believe I stayed up to watch this child-fight, I'm going to be asking Sky Sports for a refund on the ticket I paid because this fight definitely didn't live up to its hype. How can two fighters go into a much hyped fight like this and come out looking pretty, no blood, no cuts. We were subjected to a painful 12 rounds of mayweather playing hide and seek.. What the fuc*k was that? That's not boxing I swear! I would have expected Pacquiao to be a lot more aggressive, instead he was also being over-cautious. With an excellent counter puncher as floyd, you've got to be ready to take a few punches just to get inside. While mayweather was backing up all day, I expected Pacquiao to be quicker on his feet, all he had to do was keep running up on him to shorten that reach and nullify his jab and then when he gets inside, he unleashed his punch combination with an unexpected uppercut (the most underrated punch in boxing) You cannot defeat mayweather without getting hit but since mayweather has no power, you need not worry about a KO. Adopt a peek-a-boo style and then run it. It's that simple!! This fight was the most expensive hype in boxing history and doesn't deserve a to be mentioned in the same league as other historic fights. Those who paid 6 figures to see this fight would be wishing they never had. 2 Likes 1 Share |

SirShymexx: But Ali was never one to shy away from punches all day as a matter of fact he allowed opponents to punch him at times just to prove they had no power. As for that Zaire fight, he got hit a lot, infact he allowed Foreman punch himself out and then finished with with a devastating combo. That's the kind of fight I love. 2 Likes 1 Share |
