solite3: Job 1 v 1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, AND ESCHEWED EVIL. |

OkCornel:it is your words against Jesus' words. Jesus was not not just a man he was God. |
Re: Which Of These Two Sounds Like Good News To You? by OkCornel(m): 10:16pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
solite3: Yeah, according to Matthew 19 v 17, Jesus is God; 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good BUT ONE, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments Unless you're telling us Jesus was contradicting Himself in Matthew 19 v 17. Solite3, when are you going to show us where Judas Iscariot was baptized? |
Re: Which Of These Two Sounds Like Good News To You? by Nobody: 10:16pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
OkCornel:it is your words against Jesus own. I said Judas was baptized base on inferred interpretation. |

OkCornel:And Jesus told you the name of the good man right? |
Re: Which Of These Two Sounds Like Good News To You? by OkCornel(m): 10:22pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
solite3: Ahn ahn, I thought the bible was complete enough without the need to add "inferred interpretation" You quoted Matthew 19 v 17 to claim no man is good yet, that same Matthew 19 v 17 where Jesus queried someone for calling Him good...yet 1) Goodness is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit - Galatians 5 v 22 2) Jesus promised those that did good would be resurrected unto eternal life - John 5 v 29 3) Jesus said out of a good man's heart shall good treasure come forth - Luke 6 v 45 |

jesusjnr:that not what Grace is all about, I"d liken your post like a man who claimed to love a Lady just to sleep with her, because of the man abuse of love, should we say love is delusion ? no. just because some pastor abuse grace doesn't mean Grace is license to sin. a friend on this forum explained it perfectly : Grace only becomes effectual in our lives when we believe on Him Romans 5:2 hence the need to hold fast and continue in the faith. Grace goes beyond forgiveness of sins to empowerment to live victorious lives Titus 2:11-13 and that if this aspect of grace is missing, we may profess grace but we deceive ourselves and turn God's grace into lasciviousness !. thank to a dear friend . scholar |

solite3: Oh my bad, I didn't know Jesus was preaching fairy tales. I guess Job was an evil man, perhaps Enoch was not a good man too... Infact...just maybe, goodness is not a fruit of the Holy Spirit as well. With this your understanding, I'm not really surprised you could boldly tell everyone that Judas Iscariot was baptized |

Grace is more than forgiveness of sin because the woman caught in adultery, He told the woman to go and sin no more, were His word not spirit and life that should empowered the woman for victory and forgiveness ? why didn't JESUS say " woman I know you are weak anytime you sin just ask for forgiveness. For there are certain men crept in unawares,..., ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness , and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 1:4 |

OkCornel:what? Was Jesus not among the disciples how did he come to be part of the ministry if he wasnt baptised? You are just holding on to a straw. |

malvisguy212: Correct! |
Re: Which Of These Two Sounds Like Good News To You? by OkCornel(m): 10:43pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
solite3: I think you meant to say "Was Judas not among the disciples" Now please, show us with evidence from the scriptures, where did Jesus baptize Judas Iscariot? I thought you all said the bible (particularly the 66 books version) is the complete word of God? Why is it convenient for you to add your "inferred interpretation" right now? Hmmm? |
Re: Which Of These Two Sounds Like Good News To You? by OkCornel(m): 10:46pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
solite3, according to Matthew 19 v 17, was Jesus a good man? Since you want to hold onto that verse to claim no man is good. And Spirit filled believers, are they also good people? Unless maybe goodness is no longer one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit |

solite3:What makes me a liar? That I admitted making such a statement, or that I said I later withdrew it? You're a liar because despite knowing fully well that I had withdrawn that statement, you said I still claim that Allah is God. Let me put the thread here so that next time you make such a statement, you'd not have the excuse that you've not yet seen it, your lies would be clear to all and sundry. https://www.nairaland.com/5455711/done That was the thread where i withdrew my view Allah being God, but let me now show you a thread of a Christian who views Allah as God but has not yet withdrawn his view about this, so you'd let us know what you think about the person: https://www.nairaland.com/5507700/how-gods-decision-elevate-man#83696743 The point is that this is yet the view of many Christians so that is not really the issue here, but that this gives y'all demon-possessed christians something with which to get at me, that's what this is really about. So y'all Antichrist swines can continue in your scum. So you can also continue posing as the whitewashed sepulchre you appear to be to men, despite being full of dead men's bones in the name of grace, but when you end up where all your fellow workers of iniquity are, you certainly wouldn't say you weren't warned. 1 Like |

OkCornel:did you here yourself at all? Goodness is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit who is God himself, it only emphasizes the fact that only God is good. No human is righteous not one. Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: |

jesusjnr:No true christian will ever claim that Allah is his God. As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. By your fruit on nairaland, you have shown which side you belong. You withdrawn the statement because of the backlash. Let me put the thread here so that next time you make such a statement, you'd not have the excuse that you've not yet seen it, your lies would be clear to all and sundry.your end shall be terrible, if you dont repent of this wickedness. You are mocking the God of the Christians, I know your type. The Jesus of the bible came with grace and truth. only the grace of Jesus can save you, that demon in you is deceiving you. 1 Like |

solite3: If no one was righteous, please explain these verses for everyone here. Job 1 v 1; There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, AND ESCHEWED EVIL Job 1 v 8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Psalms 1 v 5-6 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish Ezekiel 14 v 13-14; 13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: 14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord God. |

solite3: More verses for you to explain; 2 Peter 2 v 7-9; 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds) 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: Luke 23 v 50; 50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just. Luke 2 v 25; 25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. Luke 1 v 5-6; 5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Mark 6 v 20; 20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly. |

Re: Which Of These Two Sounds Like Good News To You? by OkCornel(m): 10:34am On Nov 14, 2019 |
malvisguy212: Oh really? Can anyone in their right senses deny Jesus is the begotten Son of God? The issue here is not about the divine nature of Jesus. Solite3 was trying to tell me there is no good man. But that same Matthew 19 v 17, Jesus clearly called out a man that called Him “good teacher” and that only God is good. Does it mean Jesus was not good? Or the likes of Noah, Job, Lot, Joseph of Aramethea, Simeon, Zacharias & Elizabeth, John the Baptist, Daniel. Were these people not good as the scriptures stated? |
Re: Which Of These Two Sounds Like Good News To You? by Nobody: 10:57am On Nov 14, 2019 |
malvisguy212:Abuse of which grace? The same grace that you said does all the work while you do nothing, could yet be abused? How could such a grace that requires no works/obedience/righteousness in the respect of salvation still be abused? Was it not the Op who said such grace covered someone whether they sinned or not? So continuing in one's iniquity and sin cannot be an abuse of such grace, for that's the concept of such grace, which such pastors and christians use to justify such atrocities they commit, because it would still cover them regardless. So that grace cannot be abused except you're now beginning to see that your idea of grace "that does all the work while you do nothing" is so faulty. Mind you, that's has never the idea of God's grace which leads to salvation, for that grace requires works as repentance, righteousness, obedience of God's Word, for man to be able to have it. So what you call grace is not God's grace, but clearly a man-made idea, hence the damning results, as men continuing in their sins that (such) grace may abound. Therefore it's this your idea of grace that is a delusion, God's grace stands sure. 1 Like |

solite3: But you said no one is righteous na. You were arguing no one is good. Job for example was righteous because he feared God and ESCHEWED EVIL. He even went as far as making a covenant or oath not to look upon a woman lustfully. Righteousness backed up with actions and not empty confessions. Also look at Zacarias and his wife; Luke 1 v 5-6; 5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. They WALKED IN THE COMMANDMENTS AND ORDINANCE OF THE LORD 1 Like |

solite3:Oh! The grace without works illusion is gradually being destroyed by the Truth! Repentance is the beginning of good works fool, and if you don't yet know that but are yet claiming to know, then you are so much worse than whatever you called me. Matthew 3:8, 10 (KJV) 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 1 Like 1 Share |
