nijabazaar:Is this your story different from what you'll find in every other state in Nigeria? Name 1 state except maybe Lagos where you don't have very poor people in the hinterlands.Apparently you aren't well traveled.Go to d hinterlands of Osun,Ekiti,Ondo, its d same story or worse sef FYI,this Corona lockdown has already set d records straight cos we know d records straight cos we know d wailing of hunger was least in d south east. 4 Likes 1 Share |

horsepower102:So you believe this poverty index done by Yoruba man? if you haven't learn something about Nigeria this recent lockdown should have taught you something. This lockdown exposed many things in Nigeria, Enugu and Anambra was on total lockdown like Ogun state and Lagos but who complain of hunger more? The people that has least poverty index was the one complaining of hunger while the so called high poverty index people was not complaining, osun state and IMO state was not on full lockdown but who complain more of hunger between the two states?they say that Igbo's don't love themselves but this lockdown expose the people that doesn't love themselves, during the lockdown is only the west that complain about hunger and even go as far as forming a gang that disturb people sleep at night. If you believe that index then I pity you,I have been with this people from ogwashi ukwu to Asaba and I know their way 100% if I talk more now they will ban me but just know that this lockdown has expose many lies about some people.if you're rich and you can't feed yourself during a difficult time, you are poor. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

ogbuefi677: What I am trying to point is, SE might have new structures but little engagement of the indigenes in the services and industry. What is the point of fine houses when the owners aren't building factories in SE but would rather run to lagos. The owners of these fine houses resident in lagos contributes to lagos GDp but not SEs GDP. That's why its imperative for us to return home and invest. Fine houses does not fully reflect The GDP of the indigenes. Ever wonder why ogun with all its mud houses to low level bungalows has higher tax revenues? companies are spilling over from lagos, they not indigenous companies quite alright, but they are employing the people and when a statistician comes in, he factors in the number of companies and the number of people working therein. He might not look at the mud houses but by the fact that there are companies with a large workforce. These are the realities 3 Likes 1 Share |

horsepower102:this is 2020 alot have happened within 4yrs. How many residential Estates do u have in the whole of south east region ? The fact is 80% of houses in south east region re private residence . And majority of the private residence re owned by igbos doing business outside south east region . All these redudant buildings have little or no economic values to the state. I saw the mansion e-money built in anambra and i just shake my head because him and his family spend more than 300 days a year in lagos and outside the country. The mansion is redundant and wast of space in a very tiny region like south east region. 8 Likes |

nijabazaar: The scenario you described happens every where. I served in Yoruba land too, our NYSC camp was full of Yoruba poor people washing our boxers, singlets, sweeping our rooms, fetching us water for peanuts. The difference is that the town is surrounded with mud houses. Its in Yoruba land I saw people building a story building with mud. I was shocked, never seen that before in Igboland. 8 Likes 1 Share |

nijabazaar:You are contradicting yourself. Ogun has a high tax revenue, is it by their own making?= No As you rightly said, they're just lucky to be close to Lagos, finish. They haven't done anything special, most of those factories are owned by non indigenes. You have to consider d fact that a lot of d fine houses and investments you see in Igbo land belong to ppl who made their money outside Igboland. Except for d few topmost politicians like the governors, you rarely see an Igbo man make his money in Igboland but invest outside.A commissioner will likely invest in his state more and not in Abuja or Lagos.Same with even senators and Abuja politicians. After buying or building a residential house in Abj,they will likely build a hotel or bottled water factory etc in their state or neighboring state eg Ebonyi man in Enugu or Abia man in Owerri.Investing in d Lagos/Ogun axis is out of it for such ppl. It is usually d other way round or that d person made his money outside and continues investing outside. 1 Like |

Pls,travel there and try to get to the five mega malls, this will make you transverse a good part of Ibadan where you will see solid development.I think Nigerians are developing their environment more than before now. Imagine the owner and his family using their facilities daily it means he will need plumbers, Ac technicians for fixing and quartely servicing , electricians, e.t.c diesel suppliers for generators, generator repairers for servicing , dislodging of the suckway when it is filled e.t.c. All these economic activities add value to the state. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

princdebola201: True economic activities are reduced because of the main family's absence but there is enough jobs to go around for technicians servicing families that are there year round. And more and more business men are leaving their families in the East to go other places to do business. Things are changing now. 1 Like |
