Cecegracen: The way ignorant and uneducated people profess their mumuness on nairaland is surprising. Oga, submission of candidates is different from substitution. The deadline is for nomination, not substitution. Ah ah, semi-literates making noise . |

This is the inefficiency in govt we are talking about. Unfortunately for them, other countries are much sharper. The Egyptians already gamed it out. They would defeat the previous Nigerian and Benin Republic nominees hands down. They were already in celebration mode until buhari brought the big masquerade into the fight. And that was when the excitement cleared from Egyptian eyes. Egypt has a genuine reason. Our govt fucckkked up. Something that should have been done in the first place was left to the last minute due to bitter politics. 1 Like 1 Share |

Does Saudi Arabia not treat Nigerian pilgrims anyhow or when do Arabs side with Nigeria when it matters if the religious part is what irks you? Just because we blacks have no clear agenda does not mean other races have no agenda of their own. 1 Like |

Mysticwebb: You obviously didn't read the body of this or can't comprehend simple English. It says here Buhari removed the third recommendation who happens to be Nigerian and replaced him with NOI who was not approved by the AU committee. Now the Egyptians are kicking up fuss. They are essentially saying Buhari is trying to sneak in a new candidate through the backdoor |

Smartypant: Her kinsmen don't see anything good in whatever PMB does. The name of a Nigerian from North Central was withdrawn and substituted with that woman. If the name of an Ibo man had been substituted with the name of Igalla man or Tiv or Ebira from North Central, nairaland server would have crashed today. There would have been pandemonium on social media. The South East bloc of both Senate and House of Reps would have rejected the decision and made an objection. Various programs on different FM radio stations being anchored by IBOs would have gone on rampage this evening and tomorrow morning. If I were the man, I will just resign from WTO and seek refuge in another country. This is an injustice. Col Abubakar Umar (rtd) should tell us his stand. This is more than the confirmation of Justice Monica Mensem as Chief Justice of the Appeal Court. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Odogwunaeast: Not just the Arab league through the peace deal with Isreal and it's control of the Canal, Egypt is a nation of global relevance sociopolitical and geographical. Nigeria unfortunately has not lived up to the bill. Egypt can really wreck this for us, forget NOI connections if Egyptian diplomats make it a point to world leaders within their space of influence NOI would not get the job. The only thing Nigeria can do if they really want NOI in that position is to concede something to the Egyptians |

Racoon: For me I don't think its a matter of who is most qualified. We ard talking about due process in the scheme of ghings. We know okonjo is eminently qualified to be at the wto but Egypt has a point in what they are pushing for. The dullard in chief and his merry band of clowns we have in government have made us a laughing stock in the commity of nations. If Nigeria had the clout she iought to have Egypt won't even cough if we decide to change candidates on the eave of the election/appointment. |

JasonScoolari: It is not a case of a preferred candidate but that of replacement of a candidate. Whoever is submitted only represents Nigeria. Both madam Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and Kemi Adeosun have no NYSC certificate. There is no need of bringing Kemi Adeosun's name here. She managed the finance of an economy in recession at the inception of transition to another ruling party. She inherited a depressed economy and managed it successfully. The gods of Nigeria and the supreme God are not sleeping. Bringing Kemi Adeosun's name here will only complicate the matter for your sister. 1 Like |

sweetgala: Ok. Lets watch and see. For your information Mr Egyptian, Egypt is more corrupt than Nigeria. Do i need to remind you that Sisi runs a dictarorship government. Nobody knows Egypt in africa. In African politics, Egypt is nowhere near Nigeria. Even in global affairs. The federal republic of Nigeria out ranks Egypt in all areas. Unless Buhari is weak. If he plays his card well, you will see what will happen. 1 Like |

FieldMarshall06: Sentiments will destroy Nigerians. Who be Naija for where Egypt dey? Military wise, Egyptian military is ranked 9th in the world. Highest ranked Arab country and only behind greater super powers, they are working so hard to surpass 5th position.. While Nigeria is ranked 43 behind even Algeria. check source: https://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-listing.asp Egypt is the most strategic US allies in Africa and middle east in extension! Egypt is way ahead of Nigeria in everything, economic wise, manufacturing, industrialization, dirty international politics when u play politics that deals with Israel, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Russia, u play in another level. |

Odogwunaeast: Do you not comprehend simple English. This is not a matter of corruption it is a simple matter of international relationships. What is the value of Nigeria on the international scene, if the world was a chess board Egypt is a more valuable piece than Nigeria is the simple truth. If two diplomats visit a major G7 leader one from Egypt and one from Nigeria it's more possible the Egyptian position would be considered ahead of the Nigerian. That we find ourselves in this position is one of our failures, out value has diminished we shine from time to time, Egypt and South Africa form the trio of the major economies and power states in Africa with Nigeria, Egypt however have an historic significance to the British as the base of their North African/Arab operations for decades, that relationship is still strong. Egypt hold the key to the peace in Sinai region and the Isreal would do much to keep things calm while Trump is in power with Kushner able to influence a lot in the white house. You need to stick your head out of the sand and see the bigger picture |
