I won’t ever start wishing that bride price payment should be done away with. It is a good Igbo tradition. You pay it to the last dot . I love culture, without culture we have nothing to identify us with.

However a woman should have money so that if a man starts disrespecting her (or her people) because he “bought” her, she would be able to return the bride price, and “unbuy” herself for good . Wise women in oppressive situations have been doing this for ages. The Igbo culture has a provision for this.

How much is even the bride price that any woman shouldn’t be able to stash away “in case of incasity”?

Our ladies and young girls really need to change their way of thinking,most of them their focus is just to dress well and get a rich guy to foot their bills.

As a woman u need to add value to your self and not make relationships with the opposite sex your life ambition/priority.
Learn a skill,get educated..just strive to add value to urself and don't ever look down on what ever you do to earn an honest living ... nothing feels worst than depending entirely on a man to foot your bills( the day u make him angry or he is angry u won't get a dime to even feed,some are mean) even as a married woman,have your own source of income.
