Its obvious you did not read the article.
Re: Is It Ok For A Christain To Celebrate His Or Her Birthday? by MaxInDHouse(m): 9:55am On Apr 08
It's the world rulers that specified the days to be used as working days and weekends, but if your business doesn't have to do with them you can plan your own working schedule.
For instance PROMASIDOR (Cowbell) works everyday workers only have three days on and three days off, so if you're in the production section your work may fall on anyday.
That's why Apostle Paul said Christians are no more to keep Sabbaths since they will be living in countries where people don't recognize the Sabbath {Colossians 2:16} but if i'm a Jew living amongst Jews and i want to win them over to Christ i will keep the Sabbath not because it's under compulsion but just to win the heart of my fellow Jews! 1Corinthians 9:20-23
So as a Christian i'm not under the bondage of the sin laws {Romans 5:13} Jesus said i am free after knowing the TRUTH! John 8:32
Here you are talking about a pagan custom that everyone can see that has nothing to do with God's people, therefore if you want to continue in it nobody is going to charge you but know that it has nothing as in NOTHING to do with God's servants! smiley

One topic and subject that has divided Christains, is the issue of one celebrating his or her birthday,

As Christains are we supposed to celebrate our birthdays or is it wrong?
To answer this questions we will examine God's words and Bible examples inorder to better understand God's opinion concerning this topic.

The Bible is silent on the issue of one celebrating his or her birthday, infact there are only 2 instances or examples of birthdays been celebrated in the Bible one was by pharaoh(Genesis 40:20) and the other was by Herod(Matthew 14:6)

When the Bible is silent on an issue it is left for us to use our discretion in making decisions.
Secondly we also need to consider if that issue or subject offends or displeases God in anyway and does it rob God of his glory?.

A good argument for celebration of ones birthday is the case of the institution of Marriage.
While God himself instituted marriage there is no clear example in the Bible that marriages should be celebrated with feast, but we all know that Jesus attended a marriage feast where he turned water into wine, thus we can conclude that marriage feasts are acceptable to God.

In the book of Gensis 21:8 Abraham the Man God called his friend threw a feast when Isaac his son was weaned although not a typical birthday but it was greatly celebrated by Abraham and his family.

In Job3:1-end Job was cursing and lamenting about his day of birth, this normally would have been a day of celebration but Job was bitter becos of the difficulty he found himself but he still recognized the uniqueness of his day of birth and God's sustenance all through his life.

In plsams 90:12 the psalmist requested that God will teach them to number their days, inorder words to acknowledge their age or days on Earth.

There is nothing wrong in one appreciating God for adding one year to their life, if it is wrong than is it better we complain, murmur and curse God on our birthdays?

Celebrating birthdays with feast or not is left for an individual to decide, but weather with feast or not all should be done with humanity.

Psalms 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Psalms 35:18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

Psalms 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Psalms 71:6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

In Conclusion.
It is obvious that there is nothing inherently evil in one celebrating his or her birthday,
rather it is an opportunity for one to express his gratitude to God for life given and to pray for more of God sustanance for years to come.
In my own personal view that day should be used to reach out to the less privileged and those who are in difficult situations like those in prisons this a way of expressing ones gratitude to God.

Like Paul says in Roman 14:6 anyone can regard any day unto God as special be it your birthday or not but what matters is that in all, all Glory should be given only to God.
Romans 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Thank You.

"Infact there are only 2 instances or examples of birthdays been celebrated in the Bible"

Genesis 40:20
"20 On the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, he held a feast for all his officials

, and in their presence he lifted up the heads of the chief cupbearer and the chief baker. "

Matthew 14:6
"On Herod's birthday
, however, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod"

Bros, your Bible is NOT silent on birthday celebrations, Genesis 40:20 and Matthew 14:6 is the proof.
Pls, don't contradict yourself..

Marriage is NOT a good argument for birthday celebrations.
You may ask why?

Romans 15:4
"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us....."

Bros, the holy writ of Genesis 40:20 and Matthew 14:6 is teaching you about annual birthdays celebrations?

Genesis 40:20 and Matthew 14:6, is king Pharaoh and king Herod actually servants of Jehovah the true God?

No !!!!
@ Genesis 40:20 and Matthew 14:6 the evidence is that annual birthday celebrations is a pagan practice.
From Genesis to Revelation, annual birthday celebrations was NEVER a practice of Jehovah's Servants.
2 Corinthians 6:14 and Galatians 4:8-11, what fellowship does Jehovah's Servants have with pagan feasts and celebrations?

The lessons of Romans 15:4, 2 Corinthians 6:14 & Galatians 4:8-11 is important for Jehovah's Servants.
JWs pay heed to the lessons and shun annual birthdays celebrations.

Genesis 2:18-24, Marriage was instituted by Jehovah God. Marriage, Wedding celebrations, Do it !

Crap.
Paul was referring to fasting days not the weekly sabbath.

No Man including Paul and Jesus has the power to alter God's law.
Mind you the sabbath is observed as a reference to God as the creator of the Earth and not just for resting.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Millions of people are observing the sabbath day so stop deceiving yourself.

Ironically you are claiming World leaders specified the days , the same pagan World leaders you claim you are different from.

If you claimed NO SERVANTS of God ever celebrated birthday which included Abel who lived as far back of early creation of man but your founder who lived less than 200years here is getting brighter light on the issue of birthday. Then it's not a light getting brighter but living in total darkness.

Besides, your founder died celebrating birthday which means that verse didn't apply to him.

Definitely the founder must be a spirit being who is constantly correcting the errors of his congregation! Matthew 28:20 wink

The same founder didn't allow any of his servants from Abel to Jesus' apostles to celebrate birthdays, so why must it be from Russell and his pagan team that this ERRORS STARTED and need corrections?

Didn't the same Russell claimed the same Spirit being inspired him?

Using your analogy how many Sundays did Jesus worship on?

To celebrate ones birthday is not to celebrate the day but to thank God for life given.

On ones birthday is it good for one to appreciate God or for one to curse and mock God?

Satan has always carry his weapons everywhere God's people are, remember it was Satan that caused the ousting of Adam and Eve from Eden, and it was the same Satan that caused the Israelites God's people to rebel against God so that they spent 40 years on a journey that supposed to take them just 40 days. All those above 20 years never got to the promise land except Caleb and Joshua. It was the same Satan that made them worship false gods when they got to the promise land and it was this same Satan that led them to condemn the long awaited Messiah. Insults as usual!
Frustration comes when you're battling to refute what is obvious or when you're striving to establish what is not true. Why can't you continue chatting along without throwing insults? smiley

Where is the insult?

You know your lying mouth is being exposed.

So if God hasn't established anything to bring his worshipers together for his glory there is no reason for Satan to pollute their gathering nah! cheesy

So Russell didn't read that his Bible that Abel and SERVANTS of God didn't celebrate birthday.

Which took us back to our early post, how come the OLD PEOPLE till Jesus apostles didn't celebrate birthday but ONLY Russell?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm now i know what took you so long to reply the post, so you've been searching for a publication where Russell claim he is inspired shey?
It's time i allow you to continue suffering with your bad belle! cheesy

You think I'm deluded like you.

RUSSELL claiming inspiration isn't a new thing for everyone except brainwash person like you.

Do you agree you lied that Russell never claimed inspiration?

Why can't the masqueraders enter churches merrily in a way without sin? undecided
For your information, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a JEALOUS {Deuteronomy 6:15} anything offered to idols is detestable to Him! 1Corinthians 10:20-21
So if you don't want to offend Him follow the custom of those He commended for their steadfastness {Romans 15:4;1 Corinthians 10:11} He didn't just referred to Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for nothing Sir those people pleased Him well, so imitate their FAITH! smiley

GeneralDae:

I don't understand, none of the scriptures you quoted forbids you from celebrating your own birthday. Why can't you celebrate your birthday in your own way, being merry in the way of Jehovah without sin.

How is celebrating your own birthday and making merry in a holy way an offering to idols? How does it involve Masquerades?
You haven't given me a scripture that forbids you from celebrating your birthday.
