That you are vengeful does not make your vindictiveness justified. It is just another proof of the unreasonable mindset of Igbos.

You go around insisting others have wronged you and then carry bad belle for them till eternity.

For example, all Igbos want to get even with Yorubas and Hausa/Fulani for their civil war humiliation. Yet who caused the war?

Unreasonable mindset that's the first, igbos are unreasonable because they fight to curb out the marginalization on them... So they should keep quiet when it's crystal clear that they are being targeted? If this is what you label "unreasonable mindset" well i think it's just an understatement then

Must you bring Yorubas into every nonsense that affects you people? The priest James Anelu isn't Yoruba so why bring Yoruba into it?

I don't remember mentioning anything tribalistic. I just stated the fact.

There is definitely more to this story than we are reading.
I don't think the Priest can just wake up one day and say such a thing for no reason.
Even if his reason is "unreasonable", did the Parish members try to resolve the matter with the Priest?

It's sad though that tribalism is loud in the church too...#sigh

That's because some people don't respect boundaries or respect their hosts... How will you go to a church where the priest is not Igbo, doesn't speak or understand the language and start singing chorus in it. What happened to English or the local language in the area which is Yoruba?

I'm sure the non-Igbos there met with the priest to express their displeasure over the turn of events in the church which prompted that statement credited to him. For God sake, people should respect boundaries and respect their hosts.

it has got alot because from history we know what leads to these things

The minority parishioners murmuring are the ones instigating the priest to take irrelevant decisions like this
James Anelu is Edo and says that's what you people also tried to do when he was in Benin, so what has this got to do with Yoruba?

Is the Rev father insane?, Igbo are majority in every catholic parishes in Lagos, to the extent that some parishes have Igbo service.
So singing Igbo songs are now the issues?.
The Rev father will soon be hungry when Igbos leave the church.

That how trouble enters Anglican Church in FESTAC then, which leads to division among Igbo Anglican Church & Yoruba/others.
Come see crowd when Igbos started having their separate service but you can count the no of parishioners in the other one side.
The Rev father is not with his senses.

How did end, did they later reconcile

Wherever they are, their first aim is how to dominate.

This is why they shouldn't be entrusted with power.

Check what Aguyi Ironsi did just few months he was a ruler.
Check those court martial by Ojukwu during the civil war, non of them are Ndi Igbo.

Check what Azikwe tried to do in Southwest (by representing the region upon the numbers of literate mind among Yorubas) before Awolowo cornered his mischievous move

Check those killed and spare by Kaduna Nzegu and Owaboshi.

They're just pretending, give power to them and be a victim of their vengeance

Igbos dominate with hard work and money
Not conquest , not divide and rule mentality

Work as hard as them, they won’t be living rent free in your head...

Well, I can't blame the Benin priest Anelu. He just doesn't want Eboes to Eboenize his Parish.
And now he is forced in hunger and will no longer enjoy the fruits of office which obviously got into his head. His highest sponsors have abandoned him. How is going to fund his funky lifestyle now?

Well he's an Edo man and may likely end up as juju priest.

Lol. Can you Igbos ever act educated and refined? So you have a crystal ball to read beyond what is written to somehow link Yorubas with this?

Father James Anelu has a problem with Igbo "excesses" and somehow it is Yorubas that put him up to it?

You Igbos will never heal to be better loved and accepted by fellow Nigerians because when Nigerians complain of your "excesses" the first thing you do is attack them and point fingers of blame eslewhere. Preferably at Yorubas.

If only you’re as educated as you claim, the person in question didn’t mention“yoruba”
But yeah, lets begin to say vile things...

The part in bold is always being levelled at "unreasonable" Igbos universally be it Accra, Nairobi or Joburg.

Igbos will always shout when Yorubas insist their excesses in Lagos is constituting a nuisance to others. Thank God this Priest is not 'Afonja'.
So Igbo songs being played in a catholic church..

Where Igbos are by FAR the majority..

Is now an excess?

And you are not even ashamed of yourself? angry

Shut up and stop wailing, bloody hypocrite. What James Anelu has done is what you people also do amongst yourselves. Didn't Imo people heavily protest against Peter Okpalaeke from being their Bishop because they said Anambra priests are dominating their own church in Imo State? Hypocrites!

I don't know why an average Edo state man has so much hatred for Igbos. They go about on Facebook and Twitter creating all forms of attacks on Igbos.

Even a priest has transferred same to a church in Lagos. You just dey hate people wey no send una...I tire oohhh

Meanwhile, my attendant In foreign churched is solely based on Sunday issues.

I can't he holier than the Archbishop.

If you were not mentally deranged, you would have recognized that there is no where the post supports your baseless accusations about Edo people hating igbos. How did Edo people even come into this matter?.
The priest said that was how an Igbo man became a priest in a parish in Benin. Does that not signify you that Edo people don't care about tribe for allowing an igbo man to be their priest?. Edo people hate igbos but they allowed an Igbo man to become their priest. Does that make any sense to you?

It is this character that has made your tribe the most endangered tribe in Nigeria. Hausas/fulanis hate igbos. Yoruba hate igbos. Ikwere people hate igbos. Urhobo people hate igbos. Now Edo people hate igbos. Always claiming victim.

This priest doesn't know that igbos and the catholic church are inseparable....if the igbos decides to leave that church for him....attendance plummets until the parish dies out.

If you've been privileged to worship with the Catholics you'll come to the realization that no other language is as sweeter, more melodious and soul lifting as the ibo language especially those choruses before communion.

Infact that priest needs to be removed completely from the parish he is a cyst in the body of Christ.

Acts like these is what you get when overzealous men of God starts assuming gods of men.
