Oga Edochie you got it wrong. Federal governance in Nigeria has only been in the grip of the Hausa/ Fulani hegemony. Obasanjo was the only Yoruba in the mix, and he is seen by the Yorubas as a Northern prop, which is why they didn't vote for him. While Shonekan is only a 3 months flash in the pan between the military planned exchange of power by Babangida and Abacha.
