I need you candid advise, I work with an international NGO and earn about 1k dollars monthly and my other hustle about 250k monthly so I earn roughly 1.2m monthly, I'm married with a kid and I applied for a visa over a year ago before I got married.. what's your candid advise? Honestly, I don't think you should think about japa now. You're doing well for yourself. Just keep on building your wealth.

The question you should ask yourself is why did you want to Japa?
Why?

I would say leave Nigeria. You have a child; abroad will give the child better opportunities.
Work experience in an NGO in any capacity is very much sought after (at least I am sure of Canada).
Out of your salary have you saved enough just in case of kidnap.
As the citizenry get desperate and hungry, crime will increase, ransom amounts will go up.
Can you really afford to keep "kidnap" monies aside monthly?

If u don't any clue on what to do, build or buy houses and give them out for rentage while u still continue to earn ur 1.2M. Don't be too hasty to Japa. U are doing better some average Nigerians.

many of us also studied abroad, many schools in nigeria are excellent as well.
many have lost their children to western vices.
the last motivation to go back there, for me personally, is given my children better education.

My brother, learn to set your priority right. No one is rightly permitted to design your life for you. There is nothing bad seeking advice on a life confusing issues but the one you are having here is not an issue at all.

You claimed you are married with a kid and you applied for the visa before you got married, which means you applied as a single and this also means you are expecting a single visa in the near term, what and where is now the place of your wife and child? This and many more factors that are clearer to you are the reason why you need to extensively and considerately discuss this issue with your wife.

Either you travel or stay back to enjoy the reward of your labour here in Nigeria, none of us here will be affected either negatively or positively as your wife and child will do

Come to Philadelphia and see hundreds of homeless people on the street!!!

Me too, I just got appointment as an SA to a Governor, and my total take home a month is around 5million, but I am scared tribunal may throw my boss out soonest and I just got a work visa to Mozambique, I don't know if I should leave this SA job and japa or not.

You know many people around middle age now are in this naija situation because our parents thought they had good jobs/businesses and no need to expand their roots abroad. Except those who became politicians or embezzled govt/company funds.

If you check the trend of this country from the last 50 years you will never be comfortable in Nigeria.
