iSense247: Nigeria and 3rd world countries have a lot of comparative advantages. 1 labour is very cheap, 2. There are less govt bottlenecks and regulations 3. You are likely closer to raw materials Obi has spent most of his life gallivanting those same countries and now telling us its a waste of time. It's not the first time Obi is wasting his time anyway like the excursion to Tribunal 3 Likes 1 Share |

No foreign investor will come to a place where theres no security, no Justice, no equity, jo fairness. Theres not been any policy that has been put in place to make the country move forward. Instead they are busy stealing away the remaining elected positions they lost at the ballot thru currupt judiciary of the highest bider gets it. We can't get it right if evil reigns supreme. 1 Like |

In expect the country to be fixed and stable economically. Moderate electricity and proper road networks should be put in place. These will drive in organic investors who are lookin for a stable economy wit good foreign policies, to make profits. With the current situation no serious investor will take Nigeria seriously. We have a fluctuating and floating economy. Naira/dollar rise on an hourly basis Thr demand for dollars is too high. In all of these the japa people are not helping thr dollars. If Tinubu is looking for foreign investor at this point then he’s falling my hand. |

Another Humdrum Rubbish What Obi just spewed out sounds very Simplistic, easy to gulp down for lame brains, because they can't think independently, but it's devoid of any technical digestion or solution. Leaders can still do diplomatic shuttling in order to, one, repair a damaged reputation, as was done by OBJ in 1999, after 16 yrs of military rule, with Nigeria's image in the gutters. Meetings like the G-20 was an apt opportunity to talk investors into coming to Nigeria to invest- nothing wrong here. The United Nations General Assembly , where the 200 sth. member states converged was another opportunity to lure investors into coming here to invest. It would have been unwise to pass up such opportunities. Obi just likes countering everything the government does- nay-saying at its best. People applauding Obi don't realize that nations inter-depend. Mutual dependence cannot be overlooked in assessing the efficacy or otherwise of foreign direct investments. |

Nigeria is simply not yet serious in attracting any foreign investors. Even the local investors are shutting down business so what exactly would attract the foreigners?🤷♂️ Common sense is not common after all. 1 Like |

WhisperedNoise:Would Obi have done anything to fix Nigeria if he had won the election?!. No. To fix roads Build refineries Fix electricity Fight insecurity etc Takes a lot of money and time. The question is where will Obi get the money to fix everything without lobbying for FDI?!. OR YOUR THINK OBI WOULD BE IN TO PERFORM MAGIC?!. |

If the NGN is stable, foreign investors will come. For instance, imagine a foreigner invest 1usd in Nigeria when usd was 700, he converts this usd to NGN to run the business and he makes 100NGN as profit. Only for him to convert his 800NGN(capital+profit) back to USD when he wants to repatriate his funds and his 800NGN is currently not up to his initial investment of 1usd how will he come again. Only people that send and receive diaspora remittance or people who save their monies in USD will be happy with this constant increase in Naira. Real foreign investors who have industries to set up, will be pissed off. 1 Like |

But this is true. I've driven from Owerri to Portharcout just to have a mechanic fix my car and I had to book an appointment before going. Good market doesn't need abeg, it sells itself. Just like bees, investors go about looking for honey. As soon as you carry honey begin pursue bees, they will know that something is wrong and fly away. Nice one sir. 5 Likes
