SternProphet: It is almost unfair to come from a particular geographical area of Nigeria. Their mind is now completely demented. Someone WON elections by about 3 million votes and a young supposedly intelligent Nigerian is asking what Tinbu saw that "other Nigerians did not". This is Biafran idiocy. At least 15 million people saw "this thing " that Tinubu saw and voted. In 2019, a lot of us who also saw and did not vote in 2015 will come and confirm it with more than 50million votes. Stop deceiving yourself. The man is already succeeding. He has brought back agric in a big way. He is rapidly building reserves and savings. He is doing infrastructure. Education and health will also improve with the new budgetary provisions. A PRUDENT man whom the NUMBSKULLS called wicked and stingy, WILL succeed regardless of what anyone thinks about him. God bless you for this post. |

Kingspin: I CAN SEE WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM. For your info Tinubu has no option. It either he is IN/OUT. Because, PDP is NO NO for him. You mean despite over 25 political parties in the country, Tinubu is condemned to align with Buhari?. Tinubu that survived 16 years of PDPPIGS political SHENANIGANS now have no option than align with Buhari?. Tinubu SAW Buhari as a man through which he can EVICT PDP from the Aso rock. He also saw Buhari as a man through which he could achieve his agenda for SW, and Buhari also saw Tinubu as a man whom he MUST work with to become the president of this country. Are you not in this country when the merger plan failed in 2011?, in FACT Buhari shed tears when the merger failed because Tinubu gave Buhari impossible conditions. |

gurnam: So what is your interest in all these ? Do you think you like Tinubu more than Tinubu or you know his interest more than him?
All these emergency pseudo political analysts on Nairaland knows the politics of interest of Tinubu and that of SW more than SWesterners and Tinubu
Let me tell you something how igbos politics is quiet different..Igbo politics revolves around VENGEANCE, SETTLING PERCEIVED SCORES AND WRONG DOING, HATE, CATCHING UP ON LOST GROUND OCCASIONED BY THE CIVIL WAR and ENVY AND FINALLY PERSONAL BENEFITS, what Okorocha will term myopic politics.
You kind of politics would have seen Tinubu trying to settle score with the President and Fayemi for your perceived wrong doings towards him, but politics is never play like that
This is the reason the kind of Tinubu and SW politics look strange to you Ibos. @ Bolded is the reason the Chinese were COLONIZED by the Mongolians for a thousand years. This period was the DARKEST in the history of the Chinese, they eventually learn to forgive one another in order to BUILD a common front against external aggression, this is the origin of the great wall of China. Any group of people that CANNOT accommodate and respect the various views among themselves, can NEVER benefit from others because this group will never maintain a common front against others. |

CSTR1003: No, development are not mere presidential dividends to be handed at the pleasure of the president. Because Nigeria is not a group of autonomous regions.
In Nigeria currently, Development in a region is linked to other national developments, unless you agree that your buhari is not here to develop Nigeria but to reward his friends and leave.
Then I can agree with you on that ,while we wait for a real president.
The oil in the oil states certainly belong to their land owners. Ancestral ownership that predates Nigeria.
They reap the environmental consequences of the oil exploration and not Muhammad buhari that is holed up in Abuja. The oil belongs to them in real terms. The FG is holding it in trust for them.
But the main point is that your buhari is able to use oil revenues from those regions because past presidents spent billions to invest in those region. Oil did not just start flowing from there. It took massive diplomatic and financial investment from past federal administrations in those regions to create the stable oil revenue streams that your buhari is currently enjoying. Which he now feels he can use to settle those that voted for him.
Continue. History will not be kind to him. I am certain of that. Can you please highlight what SW gained from PDP 16 years government?. |

blank: That's because you're a crook. You're part of the people spoiling the power sector so no need to look towards govt because it is made up with people like you. People who are always looking for a shortcut for the system not to work. You can justify yourself to your praise singers who do not know better but you know what you are proposing is stealing electricity no matter how you term it.
It's because of people like you that the disco's think they are losing money on prepaid and are not ready to continue to fund it. After all, anyone can now buy meters. Keep channeling the money into your slush fund.
NERC have made a rule that anyone can buy meters. So, why not go to the disco, get their spec and buy it. Give it to them to fix and integrate into their system. Abeg make we hear word, will they EVER sell meter when they can JUST bill people without giving them light. |

olubankemi: Get yourself updated. Soon some private contractors called MAPs - meter access providers will be licensed to sell prepaid meters . It's soon going to be like you going out there to buy a sim card.
They were supposed to start functioning April 28 but politics is holding them back.
Even Phcn in my area is going out there ones they've being keeping free. This is what is happening in Angola at the moment, people buy prepaid meters like they buy phones and call the electric companies to come and connect them to electricity. The problem with NIGERIA is greed and nothing more. |
Politics › Re: What Is The Reason For Non-Availability Of Prepaid Meter? by 7lives: 10:58am On May 15, 2018 |
EgunMogaji: "From the benefit of hindsight and historically, most distribution of power sectors realised that when you introduce prepaid meters, revenue drops. Because it is prepaid, people get conscious of consumption and they thereby reduce usage. Then we discovered that prepayment leads to more bypassing. If we meter the distribution transformers, at least we can audit and know what energy has gone to a particular area and from there we can then see the bills that have not been issued. We will know that within that locality there is an issue and we can then send our team to go and look at what is happening. We have decided to do a mix: post-paid metering, prepaid metering and also metering the distribution transformers. By this, we will be able to have real case scenarios."
Rubbish make dem upgrade their technology na. So because some people are bypassing, those who don't have prepaid meters should pay crazy bills? |

Every house in this axis is on prepaid meter, no light no money, simple as abc. Nigerians NEEDS to learn to BLOCK financial loopholes, I know those who pay as much as 35k on monthly basis because they sell cold drinks. I told them to FIGHT for prepaid meters, but they were being LIED to by the power distribution officials. The same people that are in charge of electricity are in charge of petrol and generators, they are also in charge of the generator spare parts. The earlier people understand this the better. FIGHT AND GET a prepaid meter this is the ONLY way out. |

futurism: Good.... you just answered what I had asked above. So the none availability is politics.
I had a reason for asking. Thanks. Corruption NOT politics. And if you believe there is no meter, you are on your own. Card meter is available in the electric companies stores, the electric companies and their workers are the ones, who makes sure you don't have one. People NEED to rise up against the DRACONIAN billing system simple. |

hardywaltz: Of course the borrowing will be higher since 2015 coz there was nothing to fall back to. GEJ should have handed over the economy (Healthy Reserves and real cash in ECA) as he met it. The real question u should be asking is why wasn't the Foreign Reserves shored up in the period of high crude earnings and unprecedented 2.2mbd? Other oil nations shored up their reserves to take care of imports without devaluating their currency (if possible) till oil prices stabilize. Instead ur hero depleted our reserves, squandered the ECA and handed over a rundown economy and u have been looking for a miracle Kontinu Most of THESE emergency economists didn't even KNOW that, had Buhari not win the 2015 election, most of them will probably be MAD now. hardywaltz: On the economy I score PMB 100%
GEJ & NOI *** Inherited $50+ billion in External reserves *** Inherited $ 22 billion in Excess Crude Account *** Inherited a robust economy with the States Governments paying salaries. *** Inherited Crude prices at $110/barrel and 2.2mbp *** Inherited a stable exchange rate
PMB & Kemi *** Inherited $29+ billion in External reserves *** Inherited less than $2 billion in Excess Crude Account :[ (NOI claimed Amaechi refused for her to save another foolish claim) *** Inherited a dwindling economy with the 28 States Governments unable to pay salaries needing FG bailout *** Inherited Crude prices at $40/barrel and 1.4mbp (no thanks to the avengers) *** Inherited a exchange rate that had been devalued on three occasions and black market rate disparity far higher than official rate.
Today the exchange rate has been stable for close to 10months, foreign Reserves is in a 10year high. God bless you for this analysis, the Yuan exchange rate is starting by June. 70 % of Nigeria's import is from China, the dollar induced inflation is about to give way. The CBN Governor said $50 billion, is the threshold, as the reserve is getting FAT and Yuan taking care of most of our importations needs. Dollar is likely to go below #300 by December. God bless Buhari and the economic team. Nigeria shall be great again. |
