@Omar22 White actors have a higher chance of winning Oscars than their Black counterparts. Chiwetel and Adewale Akinnuoye are examples of actors that, if Hollywood were black run, would have won or be nominated for Oscars at some point (even if for supporting roles at best).  

The Oscars generally is not a good tool to measure talent in actors of color.

Angela Basset hasn't won an oscar, but Jennifer Hudson and Hally Berry have. Come on now.

if nigerian producers are not about maximizing their profits, i am sure they all know 90% of the actors/actresses they feature in their movies have no business in nollywood. however, the producers don't care. the cheaper the overheads, the bigger the profit and they are smiling to the bank. . .so they are happy to hire quacks.

a foreign movie director won't see it like that. the profit is not the priority.
delivering a top drawer movie is his objective and he wouldn't take any risk with sylvanus nkiru or monalisa chinda.

The director of City Of God was relatively unknown but the movie ended up being critically acclaimed. The cast are all Brazilian. majority of the Brazilian cast never even acted before. why not ask them to add Americans to "appeal to Hollywood", you people would sacrifice anything to appeal to others. Angela Bassette only came close once when she acted the in "Whats Love got to with it",  but she lost to Holly Hunter who was a better actress than her and she never got close  to the award, she didnt even act in a blockbuster movie since then the role she turned down (monster Ball) got Halle Berry the award,  Jennifer Hudson was brilliant in her role in Dream Girls despite the fact that they (producers) tried so much to make Beyonce the star of the movie

he's really good at what he does. he delivers better as a foreigner than an american that he is.

Nigerians can make good, well directed films that don't have to sacrifice the "Nigerian" factor. Already we have an audience in many African countries and in the Carribbean. All that we need is one movie producer that will produce the PERFECT Nollywood movie which will change the game. None has met this so far.  

Issakaba would have been an example save for poor movie quality and direction.
