Kobojunkie: While you make very valid points, I believe you need to have someone take a close look at your bill. Even here in America(we are supposed to have electricity that costs as much as you do per KWH in Nigeria), the average American home that gets 24/7 electricty(no breaks) DOES NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT pay anything close to what you pay. For instance, I live in a comfortably lit 4 bedroom apartment and my average bill each month is about $45 (Naira 6975). I don't understand how anyone in their right mind could claim that paying between N60,000 - N110,000 a month on electricity is for comfort. It does not make a lick of sense.Thank you joor....... The guy na bloody liar!!! |
vascey: I stay in a 3 bedroom apartment and mine just increased from 16,000 to 25,000. We had earlier complained about the 16,000 to the marketer only for the bill to be increased again to 25,000. Mind you, the flat is strictly residential with occupants who spend the day at the office. I am already sending my complaint.WOW!! Guy how many AC'?s, Deep freezers, Electric cooker, Washing Machines, Room Heaters, Electric Iron, Stand Fridge have you got there? Please try and sell some cos time for big boy don pass. And pay you bills regularly. |

So we never fit process the cassava sef and we wan use am make bread ![]() I pity the first batch of Nigerians wey go chop the cassava bread. |
The Federal Government on Saturday expressed serious concerns about the importationof finished cassava products into the country despite its potential of being the largest producer of the commodity in the world. The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, made this government’s position known in Akure during the inauguration of Growth Enhancement Support for registered cassava farmers in Ondo State. Adesina, who was represented by the South-West Zonal Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Talabi Odeyemi, said, “It is disturbing that Nigeria, which is responsible for the largest percentage of cassava production in the world, does not process what it produces. “Thailand, which is in the third position of cassava producers, accounts for 80 per cent of the finished cassava products all over the world.” The minister said it was imperative for the Federal Government to harness the potential in the sector with aggressive processing drive. Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Kola Ademujimi, said the state had a comparative advantage in the production of the crop. He said the present climatic factors obtainable in the state supported the cultivation of cassava throughout the length and breadth of the state. Mimiko said the state had the highest average yield of cassava roots per hectare in the country, and had recorded per hectare yield figure of 22.6 tonnes in the 2010 National Agricultural Production Survey. www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/govt-laments-importation-of-cassava-products/ |

The Rover 600 Series is a compact executive car produced by the British carmaker Rover Group under the Rover marque, from 1993 to 1999. The Rover 600 exterior was designed by Rover, a re-skin of the Tochigi-developed Honda Accord, also built in the UK by Honda in Swindon. The core structure and vast majority of the engineering content was sourced from Honda but the vehicles were designed at the same time, with a small Rover team on-site in Japan. Colour and trim derivatives were also used to help separate the Rover from the Honda in the marketplace. The 1.8, 2.0 and 2.3-litre straight-4 petrol engines were all provided by Honda. However, the 2.0-litre turbodiesel Rover L-Series engine and turbocharged petrol engines were developed by Rover itself, evolutions of units already available elsewhere in the Rover model range. Source: www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rover_600_Series Please I need your advice on this topic. It seems many Nigerians are going for the various range of Rover 600 series as the number of these brand of car is on a continues increase on Nigerian roads. From Lagos to Abuja to PH and Maiduguri, people are patronizing this product on daily basis. Abeg, those that have had experiences with these brand of cars should advice a young NL on the merits and demerits of Rover 600 series of cars before he commits his money and later regret it. Thanks in advance...... |

9free: As long queues returns to filling stations across the country, the Presidency on Thursday appealed to petroleum marketers not to hold Nigerians to ransom. So it is the indicted marketers that are still impoting petroleum products instead of facing trails for defrauding Nigerians abi ![]() GEJ, I hail your leadership style. Incompetence continuum...... |
As long queues returns to filling stations across the country, the Presidency on Thursday appealed to petroleum marketers not to hold Nigerians to ransom. The presidency also asked the marketers to show some understanding while assuring that it will find lasting solution to the disagreements. The petroleum marketers had earlier issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government to pay all outstanding claims on petroleum subsidy or they will shut down filling stations nationwide. But, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said the federal government was working to ensure the matter was quickly resolved. He said the government has entered into talks with the markets. "I can assure you that government is not folding its arms. It is trying to meet with the marketers and reach amicable solution to this crisis. But it is also important to appeal to the marketers not to punish Nigerians by hoarding the petroleum products, they have nothing to do with whatever is the cause of this latest crisis. “It can be resolved and government is trying to ensure that is done as soon as possible," he stated. The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had in a statement issued on Wednesday by her Senior Special Assistant, Mr. Paul Nwabuikwu, accused those indicted by the Aig-Imoukhuede Committee on Subsidy Payments of hoarding fuel to put pressure on the authorities to withdraw the charges against them. “It is clear that the strike was instigated mainly by marketers who were indicted by the Aig- Imoukhuede Committee which investigated fuel subsidy payments. Their obvious intention is to blackmail the Federal Government in order to escape sanctions for the crimes they have committed,” the statement said. www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/news/57911-fuel-scarcity-presidency-appeals-to-oil-marketers.html |
