They go about negleting and commonising guys with 3.7 C.G.P.A in the university but embrace wholeheartedly the NO FUTURE AMBITION yahoo boys just cos they want campus respect which they think the yahoo boys can provide cos they flaunt cars, a relationship which gives them countless heartbreaks which tells on the FB status.Dude is pained, choi! |
jbaur24:I tire o. Aren't we gonna crawl before walking and then running..? I'm pretty sure he said "thanks sir" after a meal or when a new clothing and/or shoes were bought for him when he was a kid, not minding it's the dad's basic responsibility |
For those shouting 11th hour gesture, see the bolded...
When I took over after protracted legal battle in 2006, I met Anambra almost lying fallow as if her productive years were over – no planning, nothing! At first I worked on the theory that for one to cut a tree quickly it is better to spend more days sharpening the instrument for swift cutting than cutting immediately with a blunt instrument which will only waste more time. We started by setting up the Ministry of Planning to come up with short, medium and long term plans for the state. The plan now guides us in many things we are doing. It was after the planning that we adopted the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as our vision and came up with the Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS) as a vehicle towards achieving those goals, through development of all sectors SIMULTANEOUSLY. Today, I am happy to inform you that Anambra is on course towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals by the year 2015 We are always conscious of those goals which include: fighting of poverty and hunger, education, health, environment and partnership.
http://sunnewsonline.com/new/trending/anambra-is-on-course/ The point here is effective planning with target and great commitment without which one can exhaust his time 'shooting' funds sporadically, at the end he realizes most of his works are either aimlessly done or partially concentrated. What is the essence of having the best urban roads and the best of structures in the cities, or taking an award for the most beautiful state capital... while one can adopt a worldly renowned developmental plan and live a comfortable life. We need to decongest our few and already overflooded urban areas! |
mister josh: Wen will Nigeria's democracy pass d stage of celebrating things dat culd av been done witout so much fuss.People like myself celebrate not necessarily the gestures but the commitment the govt of the day is putting in, judiciously following a nicely organised UN MDGs-backboned ANIDS template. There's no excuse for personal hatred towards Obi's person here, so I dare say some people are just too illiterate to judge a govt by the blueprint(programme) it came with, and monitor how they are being followed up. Instead, they are here judging the govt by whatever template their crack-damaged brains could churn out. |
FreeGlobe: ,Apart from the Ngige era which the enemies took back, Anambra is cursed with leadership. How dis a clueless and fraudulent man like this fool become governor? Less I forget, he has never been voted by Ndi Anambra, His first tenure was through courts in collaboration with Ubah brothers who he paid off, his second tenure was through ojukwu compensation aided by rigging. March should just stop by let this character disappear from my face!S/he's back! I thought those mercenaries arrested in Owerri are still being paraded? Prof. Jega, who bailed this hater of progress... ![]() |
depressionkills: This is sooooooo true, most men who claim to be mentally strong are challenged by women who stand up to them. In reality, they are very fragile and have to live up to high standards ofFixed! but u try sha |
Jeez, this tensed feeling while reading... This is me 100%!!! Am I surprised? I really can't say. . My philosophy: "(just like a computer) hack yourself and take FULL control... You don't let 'programs' you don't want run and overwhelm you. When you 'hack' your life, you install and run any 'program' you desire in your life. |
Don't relent. I see you making name for yourself, especially as we expect electric power by next year. Kudos! |

What has he done before handing out 'opon imo' to every kunle and Tolu in the state? What educational developmental programme is he working on? Can ALL secondary schools in Osun state boast of equipped science labs, pipe borne water, electric power, ICT, etc... And all you blinded 'ignorantuses' cannot smell a dumb idea of using paint to fill a cracked wall. Bunch of paid pipers! www.nairaland.com/1516038/world-bank-adopt-anambras-education |

funshint: A dying lion(chicken) will always make d loudest noise. Obi is a complete failure. I can't just wait 4 dat eerie silence on nairaland when Ngige is declared winner...up Onwa!!Will that take away Obi's achievements so far? It can only go a long way to spell doom for the state because I'm sure Ngige cannot maintain the fiscal frugality we've been experiencing so far. Ngige is extravangance personified and therefore many ongoing projects will fear being abandoned! |
Gov. Peter Obi never granted many interviews... A good read. May, 2011: www.elombah.com/index.php/reports/6544-governor-peter-obi-speaks-to-thisday-v15-6544 June, 2011: www.vanguardngr.com/2011/06/anambra-is-the-most-difficult-state-gov-obi/ |

Slizbeat: The MODs are really biased. If you like, Ban me. I will say it again.....MOD's are really BIASED.Don't mind them Slizbeat: To topic, yes I love Obi in every aspect. The best thing I have learned from him is "Do not borrow to finance a project, if you don't have, continue the little you can till you have enough to start and finish rather than starting and finishing in a decade"Though I have been living and breathing engr'g my life so far, I have learnt from Gov. Obi some vital tips that has been quite useful in my personal life and business (having keenly observed his antecedents since 2003 elections, as I'm yet to meet him in person) and I must confess they are really priceless. The man is truly an inspiration... like I'm now his student. Lol Read his interview in June, 2011. This might get you to knowing his personality. www.vanguardngr.com/2011/06/anambra-is-the-most-difficult-state-gov-obi/ |
lovat: World Bank please there is a state called Rivers and the governor is Chibuike Amaechi, kindly go there and see schools now looking like Jehovah Witness and Latter Day saints buildings. Don't ask for teachers cos they are all dancing to the airport.^^^ I'm suing you for the injuries sustained while ROTFL-ing to the above effort of yours ![]() |
Showing them how it's done... 'Anambra = Light of the Nation' www.nairaland.com/1516038/world-bank-adopt-anambras-education#19527945 |
asha 80: for you a chronic obi hater to admit that education in anambra is experiencing change means something serious has happened or is happening in that sector.ANIDS programme hasn't started showing itself, wait till some other sectors get to their final phase. Hope you soon dump APC ideologies and join the moving train (APGA)? You are welcome! |
tawa89: Why is this thread not on front page? Didn't it meet the criteria for FP materials?Where them Mods at? Front page abeg... This is national news. |
gleaf: Freeglobe will definitely avoid such threads!!! Anyway back to topic, Obi has always been a silent achiever , I believe that world bank team visited other states before taking this decision , it shows that its not all about building the most beautiful school but its also about the developmental policy in place to sustain it .Obi has shown that western world can actual take something out of Africa other than always imposing or importing western policies and way of life.Truth there @ bolded... Imagine the boost it will give to his/our confidence. I believe more outstanding feats will follow in due time when some other sectors receive their own 'Final push', depending on how they are programmed though. My admiration of OKWUTE NDI IGBO in terms of strategic planning and fiscal mgt is unwavered... Little wonder why he is GEJ's Honorary Adviser on Finance, not minding Obi's political stance (being an APGA die-hard). . Anambra for Continuity! Anambra for Completion!! Anambra for Commissioning!!! Anambra for Commencement!!! Vote 4Cs.. Vote Willie Obiano |
Even though I hated that retard called O-bi(ngo),I can't help but applaud him on d education section in my state.after that, nothing else.once again, well done retard.
Lol. I like ur sincerity, but I don't think this is his strongest point anyways... Some people here would still argue he did little or nothing in education. |
• World Bank officials from Abuja, led by the Country Director, Me Marie Francoais Marie-Nelly, arrived in Awka yesterday for the kick-off of the Anambra State Education Programme Investment Project(SEPIP), which is part of his “Final Push,” towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). . The project involves $150 million among Anambra, Ekiti and Bauchi states. . Speaking on the project, the Senior Education Specialist for the World Bank, Prof. Tunde Adekola said Anambra State was selected for World Bank intervention because Governor Peter Obi demonstrated accountability by using available resources to deliver better education results. . He said that the World Bank would adopt Obi’s direct disbursement of resources to end-users since it had evidently worked in the state . Adekola said the criteria for selection was based among states that had demonstrated great support to education on their own, while the World Bank was working to encourage them. . “We shall from time to time evaluate what Anambra is doing. Once we see improvement as it is now, we shall offer more support.” . Part of the assistance will go in the area of special employment and training of teachers in core subjects of English, Mathematics and the Sciences. . The delegation later visited Queen of the Rosary Secondary School, Onitsha, Dennis Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha; and Christ the King College, Onitsha witnessed the handing over of the cheques of N30 million to the three schools for continued infrastructural development and said that they were impressed by what they saw in the three schools. . The World Bank had to commission the team from Oxford University led by Prof. Collier to study what Anambra State is doing in the education sector that led to the noticeable improvement. . Meanwhile, Obi has presented a cheque of N1.5 billion to the schools in the state as part of the continued efforts by his government toward their rehabilitation, assuring that he was committed to all levels of education. . Marie-Nelly said she was overwhelmed by the level of infrastructure she witnessed in schools in the state and thanked the governor for that. . She advised students to work hard to enable them equip themselves adequately to compete with others anywhere across the world. She said with internet connectivity and computers in schools in Anambra State, she was confident the state was on the right path. . http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php/news/national-news/137694-world-bank-to-adopt-anambra-s-education-module |

ojialo: we can not deny the fact that Chris is a Good man he has his people at heart so let him come and finish what he started Obi could not finishGood gini?! ..abeg abeg abeg! What made him a good man to you? That man behaves like tout. A typical Nigerian civil servant influenced by Igbo traders way of life, full of lies and deceit. Someone that can't keep promises even after undertaking an oath at a dreaded shrine... Oh I forgot he's a Roman catholic knight, and (said) he went to the Okija shrine with his bible! All for power. You and your Ngige owe Anambrarians 50-years worth of apology |
