I wrote a petition to LASEPA about the noise pollution from the church right behind my house. LASEPA officials came and issued a warning to the pastor. The church abated, but started the noise after some months. I reported again and the pastor was issued a summon. Since then the church stopped using loud speaker for their night vigil. One day the pastor decreed loudly during their service that I would die in 21 days. I laughed. This is about 6 years now. If you are disturbed by any church or mosque promptly report to LASEPA, attach your LASRAA ID, include address and telephone number. |
Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) says it will suspend international transactions on its naira Mastercard from Saturday, December 31, 2022. The bank made this known in a statement to its customers on Thursday. It said customers will be unable to make international automated teller machine (ATM), and point of sales (POS) transactions on their naira Mastercards. “We write to inform you that you will no longer be able to use your naira Mastercard for international online and POS transactions effective 31st December 2022,” the statement reads. “Kindly note that you can use your GTBank dollar card for all your international spending requirements.” According to the statement, the bank’s dollar card allows a daily $1,000 (or equivalent in the transaction local currency) withdrawal limit on ATM transactions. It added that there would be no withdrawal limit on “annual spend and POS transactions” for the dollar cards. The development is not the first time financial institutions are reducing spending limits or suspending international transactions on their cards. In February and March, Zenith Bank and the United Bank for Africa (UBA) reduced the international spending limit on their naira cards from $100 to $20 a month. Also, in July, Standard Chartered Bank suspended international transactions on its naira visa debit card. Flutterwave, Eversend and other fintech platforms had also stopped virtual card services for international transactions. Operating a multiple exchange rate system, Nigeria has been battling a foreign exchange crisis. Recently, the country’s foreign reserves depleted from $3.0 billion in 2014 to zero in 2022. Godwin Emefiele, governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), had said there is a shortage of foreign exchange to meet citizens’ needs. Amid Nigeria’s FX shortage issues and its resultant effect on banks’ decision to limit international transactions, citizens’ ability to pay for services abroad and online has been impacted. I was once charged at by a German Shepard. The dog made a bee-line for me at the fastest speed I had ever seen a dog from about 20 metres away. The dog had warned be by barking and growling to get the Bleep off. But I had to pass through the territory to get to my destination. It was a moment of truth for me - I could run and get bitten on the arse or stand and get bitten on the leg. Definitely, I could not outrun this Alsatian in this open space. My fight reaction kicked in and I charged back at the dog in the most maniacal way I could. Immediately, the dog skidded and made a 360 degrees and ran back even faster than it came at me. I felt I was left with no better option, I was ready to fight and die, and the dog knew I was crazy at that moment. I walked away triumphantly, while the dog kept barking at me from a safe distance. |

Perhaps you have been going to the wrong dentists. There are a lot of competent dentist who carry out root canal treatments in Lagos- that I know! Even better than abroad- I have my proof. A root canal treatment + filling + crown will cost you between 250,000 to 300,000 at some of the best dentists. Some people just opt for extraction when they see the bill. It is far more lucrative for a dentist to preserve than extract your tooth! |
This nonsense of calling teachers 'uncle' or 'auntie' needs to stop. It's very misleading to a child and seems predatory in my opinion. Mr A or Mrs B should suffice. |
Have you sought your wife's opinion or consent? She is the only one whose opinion counts in this matter. |

Powerintoxicate:Even during war people have to eat— in worst case scenarios humans have been known to eat their own children during war and famine. Hunger and malnutrition is also used as a weapon of war - a war crime- in war situations malnutrition often causes higher mortality than bullets or bombs. The sad truth is that whatever decision governments all over the world make, people are going to die! |

I make this forecast with all sense of responsibility and an unbiased mind; putting into consideration- Nigeria's political history, the current political weather and trends of public opinion. This predictions are based on the two front-running candidates, namely- Buhari and Atiku. 1. I see Buhari scoring less votes than he had in 2015. 2. I see Atiku scoring at least 1/3rd of votes cast in all states of the federation & FCT- the first by any presidential candidate in the history of Nigeria. 3. Buhari will fail to score 1/3rd of votes cast in 9 states- Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu and Rivers. 4. Bookmark this page and compare after elections on February 16th, 2019. See table below for breakdown: All estimates are in approximate values

An un-expired vaccine may still be very useless, if the cold chain preservation is not followed. That is why they must be kept refrigerated at all times. Store frozen vaccines (Varicella, MMRV, and Zoster) in a freezer between -58°F and +5°F (-50°C and -15°C). Store all other routinely recommended vaccines in a refrigerator between 35°F and 46°F (2°C and 8°C). The desired average refrigerator vaccine storage temperature is 40°F (5°C). https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/vac-storage.pdf If you discover expired vaccine, remove it from the refrigerator or freezer so that it is not inadvertently given to a patient. Expired vaccines and diluents should NEVER be administered, even if it is only 1 day past the expiration date.Feb 1, 2018 http://www.immunize.org/askexperts/storage-handling.asp |
Fake news!!! On 4 June 2018, Kalinić was named in Croatia's 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.[47] On the fifth day of the tournament, he was sent home after refusing to come on as a late substitute during Croatia’s first game of the competition against Nigeria, claiming to have a back injury. Kalinić refused to play for the same reason previously during friendly matches against Brazil and England as well as during the previous day’s training session.[48][49] |

I’m Bukola Ayinde, Founder of P4:13 Foundation and author of Diary of a Special Needs Mum. Getting a diagnosis which says your child has Cerebral Palsy is a parent’s worst nightmare. I had my period of living in denial; wishing the problem would go away, like it was all a dream, but the reality stared me in the face. My husband and I decided to face the challenge before us squarely. We engaged different specialists; Neurologist, Paediatrician, Physiotherapist, Speech therapist, Occupational therapist, Special Needs Care Givers. At one point we were scouting for a very good physiotherapist. A parent of a special needs child recommended a young lady to me. I mentioned her name {Bisola Anthonia Abayomi Ojo} to one of my daughter’s therapist who confirmed that the lady was very good at her job. However, she also confirmed that the lady could be arrogant. I spoke with another therapist on the field who also confirmed that the recommended Physiotherapist was good at what she does but she could be rude. Well, at that point of my life, I didn’t mind if she was going to be rude to me or arrogant as far as she was as good as everyone had said, I was fine with that. All I wanted was to see was my child’s improvement, I could take any sh*t in between. She came on board as my daughter’s physiotherapist. She was very professional and dedicated, but she didn’t come cheap. She didn’t come cheap at all. My daughter attended a mainstream school that allowed her to use the sickbay as her pullout room for her physiotherapy session. In June 2016, my daughter’s school proprietress requested that my husband and I should make out time to see her. When we eventually did a week later, she told us that the physiotherapist had manhandled our daughter and she was going to show us a CCTV recording to prove it. At the back of my mind I felt the woman was exaggerating because therapy could be demanding at times. My child may cry, if she didn’t like the exercise or if the exercise was tasking. However, when I watched the video, I was shocked beyond words that someone I trusted with my daughter could treat her worse than an animal. I believe that even an animal shouldn’t be treated that way. I mean, she came highly recommended; she is a Masters degree holder. She is not an illiterate. Apparently she didn’t remember that there was a CCTV in the room or she felt nobody would be checking the TV at that particular time. It was heartbreaking to see my daughter treated by a health worker in such a barbaric act. I watched my daughter as she fell down several times hitting her head on the tiles. There were times she hit her head on the edge of the wooden bed before falling to the ground. Her Physiotherapist slapped her three times; the third time with her cell phone. She left her head hanging upside for 5 minutes. She twisted my daughter’s hands several times; at a point she sat on her hands, at another point she tied her hands behind her head. I watched as my daughter fell from her chair while her neck was stuck in between the space at the vertical back rest and the flat wood used for sitting down. I watched on as this lady typed on her phone 90% of the time only taking some time off to torture my daughter. Did I mention that she took out time to take her selfie? Up to five times. After we watched the recording, my husband could not control his tears. My heart bled. My daughter’s Neurologist said we cannot ascertain the level of damage to her brain because we did not bring her immediately it happened. He said an MRI would have been done to ascertain any damage. I got her arrested. She said she was sorry She claimed depression and ill health I didn’t believe her then, I don’t believe her now. I had to make a decision, to leave my daughter in the hands of her nannies at home (which may be another source of abuse) and follow through to ensure the physiotherapist was duly punished. (Bearing in mind the justice system in Nigeria) or drop the charges lodged at the police station and allow Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board at Yaba to handle the matter. I dropped the police charges. I decided to stay with my traumatized daughter. I handed the Physiotherapist over to the Registrar at Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board at Yaba. Her punishment: • Three months withdrawal of her practicing license. • Three months work in a general hospital under supervision without pay • She was to undergo a psychiatric test Like seriously? Are you kidding me? She had been practicing for a year without renewing her license and all you could do was to withdraw her license officially for a mere three months? She went back to the Registrar at Medical Rehabilitation Therapists to ask for permission to travel to USA to get treatment. I called to check on the case, and I was told she had travelled for treatment I was told not to worry as she cannot practice anywhere else in the world without a letter from the board. Some months later, I was told by a reliable source that she was not taking any major treatments but attending a Masters programme in US. So she got away with child abuse, assault, battery, in fact attempted murder. This is only possible in Nigeria right? I went back to Medical Rehabilitation Center, I was shocked to find out that the case had gone cold. What stops her from coming back into the country and working with other children? How many Nigerians ask for practicing license before employing a professional? I strongly believe that the least the board should have done was to declare her unfit to work with children. In respect to my daughter, the signs were there: She had been withdrawn for a while in fact she had stop smiling, interacting with anybody in the house or attempting to answer questions in school. I kept asking the care giver that followed her to school about the sudden change. The caregiver said she had no idea. I came up with my own theory and I brushed it aside. How would I have known that a health worker, someone I trusted with my child could be so cruel? The Physiotherapist had been with us for over two years. I can only imagine…. Well, I pulled my daughter out of school and started her own mini school at home. I let go of my current caregivers for good reasons and got new ones. With care and love, she added weight, came out of her shell and got better. Right now she attends a school three times a week and we are making progress. Child abuse is real…from the people you least expect. Nigeria Stops Sale Of Treasury Bills To Anyone Who Doesn’t Have N50 million ugodre Nairametrics MARCH 1, 2017 Nairametrics| The Federal Government announced on Tuesday that it will no longer be selling Treasury Bills to retail investors. In what it called a “New Market Structure” the Debt Management Office (DMO) said the minimum amount that can be used to invest directly in Treasury Bills is now N50, 001,000. This effectively puts it out of the reach of retail investors. Implication This means that anyone who wishes to buy Treasury Bills but does not have up to N50 million must buy through a bank in the secondary market. The major difference now is that; you are now at the mercy of a bank and may have to collect lower yields. Treasury Bills yields have sky rocketed of late, trading for as high as 20% for a one year yield. It is unclear if the rate you get at a secondary market will be the same as what you get in a primary market. Banks, who have complained about the effect of high yield Treasury Bills on getting cheaper deposits, will breathe an air of respite as retail investors will be marketed fixed deposits and other bank products which hitherto could not compete with Treasury Bills. Why this change The DMO in a publication in the papers explained that it had introduced a new Market Structure since it has now introduced what it calls FGN Savings Bonds. The FGN Savings Bond, unlike Treasury Bills and FGN Bonds, will have a tenor of 2-3 years and quarterly interest rates. Treasury Bills have a tenor of 91 days, 182 days and 364 days respectively. Each tenor comes with an interest calculated per annum. FGN Bonds are as high as 10 years. So apparently, the government is inadvertently rerouting retail investments in Treasury Bills to its FGN savings bonds program, freeing up short term T-bills for commercial banks. The new FGN Savings bonds can be bought for as low as N5,000 in multiples of N1,000. http://nairametrics.com/nigeria-launches-fgn-bonds-stops-sale-of-treasury-bills-to-anyone-who-doesnt-have-n50-million/ |

And you recouped your 500 million in multiple folds as governor of Abia. So stop crowing about. |
Rubbish talk. He should resign if he is too dignified for the customs. He left the army as a colonel, not even a general. So far, he lacks the ideas to strategically re-position and reform the customs. |
Same thing they did to Shiites in Zaria. Indiscipline right from the top. I have never heard of American or British army brutalizing civilians under any circumstance. A serious re-orientation is needed- it only takes a commander-in-chief who is sensitive to such issues. Certainly not this C-in-C. Nigeria might just be a zoo after all- N. Kanu has a point in that. |
If water corporation provides water, who will drill bore-hole? If there is stable electricity, who will buy generator? If there are good roads, why buy SUV? Very soon we will need to get paid permit before using generator! |
