Turboking: he was actually fingered in a murder case but the claim was not well substantiated although he got a minimal jail term and UK entry ban try and watch his UK return debut concert in 2016(i think)it speaks volume (dressed in prison jacket he alighted from the UK prisoner transit truck before mounti g the stage to perform Not to belabor this, but being “fingered” (whatever that means) is a world away from “committing murder”! First, ‘murder’ is actually a legal term with specific elements of the crime (and accordingly not every homicide amounts to murder) and therefore until one is tried in a court of law and convicted of the legal crime of murder, he cannot said to have “committed murder” (for example, killing someone while justifiably fighting to save your own life is NOT murder, as well as several other scenarios). Nonetheless, as some comments have already noted, if Burna Boy had actually been convicted of murder in the UK he would have served time and thereafter been deported and most likely been permanently banned from entry into the UK. Frankly, it sounds as if someone saw him wearing said prison costume at a concert and ran with it, because the murder story just does not cut mustard. |

winterfell007: Siddon there make pant dey wear you. All your Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode and probably the incoming Sanwolu couldn't construct and complete blue rail line systems from mile 2 all the way down to Badagry for 10 straight years while other countries you are forming giants for have completed theirs in record time. Come to our area and see what that useless project has caused us, Major infrastructural and engineering projects are not easy to complete - especially in a country like Nigeria where it took the NNPC 3 years to relocate their pipelines and encroachment on the right-of-way takes seemingly interminable time to sort out (up until this year, the fencing of the Ojo Military Cantonment was still abutting on the RoW). Even in arguably the world’s most technologically-advanced nation the US, it took 25 years and a cost overrun (from $2.8b to over $22b) to complete the so-called Boston Big Dig, which was just a 1.5 mile tunnel. |

Raiders: lagos is one of the poorest mega city in the world. stop comparing lagos with those small African countries with populations of less than 5 million people. compare lagos with mega cities in other developing countries like Johannesburg, Cairo, Mexico city, New Delhi. lagos is a complete mess with no major transit system. infact lagos is 1 of 2 other mega cities in the world without a mass transit system No, it is NOT! Lagos’ GDP is greater than the GDP of the nations of Ghana and Kenya COMBINED! Meanwhile, a major and relatively wealthy mega city like Jakarta (Indonesia), which is even bigger than Lagos with an estimated 30 million population has NO rail-based mass transit system. In fact, Johannesburg’s Gautrain is actually technically NOT a metro rail system. Nonetheless, Lagos’ recent agreement with France’s Alstom virtually ensures that Lagos will end up with a world-class metro system. |

Originalsly: I always wonder why politicians make these big empty statements.... but from the general comments I an see why....people open their mouths wide and just swallow....hook, line and sinker. How much did Lagos grow in 2018? Does the IMF set the agenda and budget for Lagos to predict it will grow by 4%? So regardless of what Ambode does/does not do...Lagos is going to grow by 4%. Lagos.... one of world's top tourism places.... really?...no numbers? These guys just disrespect the masses. The GDP figures for Lagos are well-known and has been in the public realm for a long time. |

Darey00: In 1886, the first electric underground railway system was opened in London, England
We are here celebrating a routine railway track that will still be on narrow gauge (an outdated rail system).. we are really behind in this country First, it is NOT narrow gauge. All of the new rail projects (even Itakpe that started under IBB ) are standard gauge. Second, I do not see any “celebrating” - unless you do not grasp the basic concept of information. Nonetheless, what does the opening of the London underground system has to do with the price of Eba or anything else for that matter? Even the US is still building (and planning to build) new basic commuter rail projects and are not ashamed to share that information with the rest of the world. |

Honestly, there is no need to heat up the polity. All the best to all the candidates as Nigerians go to the poll. God bless Nigeria and Nigerians. Frankly, the reason given by the state government, that because the NPFL season is scheduled to start Jan 13 the stadium should not be used for non-sport events, seems rather shallow! |

In America, people get arrested just for being associated with a criminal. You’ll get accused of the crime then it’s up to you to prove your innocence. America is not the heaven you see on tV. The USA is a very fucccked up place especially their criminal justice system!! Don’t be fooled. NO! It’s NOT “up to you to prove your innocence” in the US. Rather the burden of proof is on the government to prove your guilt - beyond a reasonable doubt. BTW, contrary to his dad’s assertion and belief, being released on bail has no bearing on his innocence or guilt. If the authorities think he is innocent, they would have dropped the charges and released him unconditionally. Good luck to the dude, he will likely need it. |
