Theuniverse:
Erez Garty breaks down the physics behind Carlos’ kick in Brazil’s game against France where Carlos lined up to take a free kick and sent the ball around France’s defensive wall and straight into the goal using the Magnus Effect or a “banana kick”.
Utilizing wind speed and the placement of his foot. According to Newton’s 1st law of motion, an object will move in the same direction and velocity until a force is applied to it, regardless of the strength of the force. When Carlos kicked the ball, he gave it direction and velocity, but what force made the ball swerve and score one of the most magnificent goals in the history of the sport? On one side, the air moved in the opposite direction to the ball’s spin – causing increased pressure, while on the other side, the air moved in the same direction as the spin, creating an area of lower pressure. The difference between the pressures made the ball curve towards the lower pressure zone.
Nice explanation, though your physics isn't so correct, especially the law of inertia part, Newton's first law of motion.

It's accurately stated as every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of a net external force.

It's not just any velocity, but constant or uniform velocity, and not just any force, but a net force. That means if the force is too weak to overcome the resistance or inertia posed by a body, meaning the force can't make the body stop moving with a constant velocity to accelerate, no effect will be noticed.

For instance, if you apply a weak force to a car moving at uniform velocity in a straight line, the car won't accelerate.

A body moving at uniform velocity doesn't accelerate since acceleration is the time rate change in velocity or the second derivative of displacement with respect to time, and when velocity is constant, it means there's no change in velocity.

Hence, acceleration is zero and remains so until a net external force is applied.

Most African Muslims and Christians often condemn and demonize all these local festivals, but they're key aspects of our cultures and tourism sectors. It's obvious these native cultures and traditions need reform.

They should be improved further and their concepts and practices developed based on critical thinking, scientific method, and good philosophies with depth.

That can only be achieved when many highly educated and exposed Africans join in celebrating the local festivals.

When there are many intelligent people engaging in an art or act, they can reform and develop it further.

Christianity itself even had more barbaric and shameful past, before some Europeans reformed it and made it a bit more attractive to people.

If not for reforms such as New Testament, Christianity would have died some years ago. Anyway, all these religions will still die in the future when humans become smarter and our sciences develop further.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001:
This video shows Yorubas that demonstrate high intelligence:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJu9Ffqqk4g

Every human has a culture, which is software of the mind, according to experts. There are many benefits of promoting one's culture and traditions, including cultural preservation.

Promoting one's culture and traditions helps in preserving and safeguarding valuable aspects of a community's or people's heritage. It ensures that customs, beliefs, art forms, languages, rituals, and other cultural expressions are passed down to future generations.

When key aspects of culture and traditions are passed from one generation to the other, present-day humans can develop and build on the knowledge and achievements of their ancestors and forebears and learn from mistakes of past people, allowing society to move forward.

Another benefit is that cultural promotion helps people develop a strong sense of identity and belonging, contributing to social cohesion and integration within communities.

There are many other benefits. These things are general knowledge to people, especially the intelligent ones, in other parts of the world, even among kids.

However, you'd struggle to explain to a typical African the importance of promoting the native cultures and traditions. A people, who are stupid enough to regard the imported European and Arab cultures as superior to the indigenous cultures and are not able to preserve their cultures and traditions, will soon die a tragic death.

Today, many cultures and traditions around the world with many beneficial traits and practices are dead or dying. When there are too many people that lack foresight and critical thinking in a culture, such a people (culture) could soon die.

One of the salient points raised in that video is that fossil fuels, such as petroleum, are losing their relevance globally and that one of the ways Nigeria, whose key source of revenue is the petro-dollar, can develop its economy is by developing its tourism sector which is driven by our cultures and traditions.

In some popular countries, tourism is huge and is a multibillion-dollar sector. Key examples are India, Saudi, and Israel. The Saudi tourism sector is a multi-billion dollar industry driven by and developed with owo omogo (funds accumulated from dumb people, especially in Africa).

Yet, our tourism sector can also be that huge if only Nigerians and Africans can think deeply and stop promoting the cultures of the whites and Arabs, while demonizing the native cultures.

Africans with a working brain promote the beneficial aspects of their culture and condemn the bad aspects. Some of the bad aspects of any culture are worshipping a god or deity and human sacrifice.

Africans, especially the traditionalists, should learn from history. When the violent and malicious whites and Arabs invaded Africa for their colonization and slave-trading campaigns, the deities, which our forefathers used to worship, could not save them.

People should know worshipping a god or deity stifles brain development, creativity, innovation, and critical thinking in people and puts a bar or limit on scientific development. All these deities are great people that lived and achieved great, historic feats in the past, and they were deified for these reasons and worshipped as God from generation to generation.

Despite their greatness, they also had many limitations as humans. Thus, their teachings, methods, and philosophies have a lot of flaws. (Islam and Christianity are examples of such personal philosophies of past humans with huge flaws, threats, and weaknesses.)

Intelligent people improve on past achievements and philosophies, not immerse themselves in these philosophies completely. Thus, African traditionalists need to stop worshipping all these deities, adopt the scientific method, and stop their ancient/primitive reasoning approach.

It's more reasonable to celebrate and remember these deities the way scientists celebrate great minds that made key contributions to science and technology in the past, such as Newton, Einstein, and others.

In other words , the loaded meaning in those statements are, you are not enlightented enough to understand him (eyes not open), and your critical faculty skill is not fully developed to make sense of anything ( 'minds to attempt '....)

All these are malicious suggestions to your subconscious mind to influence it negatively , and it's coming from somebody who himself is neither enlightened or can really think for himself , if not ,he would not be a member of a racist organisation whose founder, when alive, had regarded every blackman and woman as inferior to the whites Harvey Lewis Spencer , promoted the Idea of the superior Aryan race .

What is there to be afraid of. I am not a real any book I've read, A001. I am merely the very real budaatum of Nairaland do please take note and I do whatever I choose to do according to my own hard earned understanding.

We who read our Bibles well learnt to read comparative versions of different translations of texts we read so we can better get the nuanced meanings that get lost in translation A001. We even take into consideration that the cultural understanding of the times they were written might have been lost to us reading today too, and we might realise that all that doesn't matter as the texts influence our thinkings and actions and doings regardless and direct us positively or negatively depending entirely on us ourself just as it has done to others before us for centuries and wonder why and what for or how.

It would indeed be a funny thing for novices to not know despite the fact they'd see two Christians here could translate the Bible in two starkly different ways, don't you think?

How, A001, pray tell, can buda be "translating Qur'an starkly different from the way Muslims would" and yet be a novice?

And this is why we read various English translations of texts A001. To look and see the full picture for ourselves so stupid mischievous people can not manipulate us, yet here are you condemning us for it. Why?
No need for me to read this your epistle. I'm not interested in silly arguments on Nairaland. No Muslim or Alfa observes Sallah (obligatory prayer) in any other language except Arabic because Qur'an only exists in Arabic. That's a well-known fact among Muslims.

That's utter silly nonsense! Same as claiming the works of Plato are not the works of Plato unless they are in ancient Greek, or the Bible is not the Bible unless it's in its original languages. The Qur'an was written on camel bones before it was edited and translated and copied onto parchment so why don't you stick to reading them on camel bones I don't wonder.

I've posted you an image so you know where to get a copy in English because even if you do read Arabic you sure can't understand it like the English you communicate with here. As for replying you, as you can see, I'll bother if I want to because you are not the only one who would read what I write despite it being in response to you.
That's why I said you don't know what you're talking about. You're merely posting translated quranic verses all about you know next to nothing about.

That Qur'an only exists in Arabic is a well-known fact among practicing Muslims. It's a key principle in Islam, and that's why you will never any find any Muslim reciting all these your watered-down translated verses in English you're posting about, which don't convey the exact meaning of Qur'an, during Sallah (obligatory prayer).

You'll never find a real Muslim that recites Qur'an in his mother tongue (except Arabs) when observing Sallah. It was stated in the Quran itself that the book is only in Arabic (the verses are in Qur'an itself).

The translated texts aren't Qur'an, but just translations. Intelligent people know that nuanced meanings get lost in translation.

The funny thing novices like you don't know is that the way a Christian or an atheist/agnostic would translate Qur'an will be starkly different from the way Muslims would.

Hence, Muslims carefully select the translated versions of Qur'an they read (for those that don't understand Arabic).

Yoruba Muslims usually give wrong and silly translations, referring to Esu as Satan, Allah as Olorun, and many others, interpreting Eid-ul-Adha as Ileya?

How does "Eid-ul-Adha", which means "Odun ebo" in Yoruba or "Festival/Feast of Sacrifice" in English, translate to "Ileya" (homecoming)? How is Satan the same as Esu?

How is Allah the same as Olorun? Only dumb Yorubas say all these things.

Ileya actually applies to all festivals where natives travel home for the festivals, and it's not peculiar to Eid-ul-Adha.

But stupid and mischievous Yorubas that translated Qur'an tried to hide all the elements of paganism from Qur'an or Sunnah (Muhammad's recorded traditions and deeds), yet those of us that understand Arabic and read widely can easily spot all these paganistic elements in the text.

"Eidul Adha" is "Odun Ebo" in Yoruba. That's the correct translation, literally and within the context it was used in Sunnah and Qur'an.

There are many other instances.

Europeans and Arabs will be condemning African religions and cultures as paganism, yet their own religions are no different.

Africans without a working brain would also be demonizing their own cultures and traditions.

The Amala of buda

(I am titling this in you honour).

It is your opinion that those two books, which I want to believe you've read, make the brain dull and are "tools of European/Arab colonization, domination, and subjugation", A001, and you believe that despite the fact that you probably don't think I am dull, which just shows that you don't believe what you see with your own eyes.

This is not a philosophy forum, and me quoting books the majority have not read makes what I say go completely over the heads of most, though that does not stop me quoting philosophy as this thread shows. I mean, see you calling me all sorts according to what I quote instead of engaging with the words you see and read. Some even go as far as calling atheist me a cultist out of fear of what they know not.

A big book like the Bible and a complex book like the Qur'an can not possible be for dull people because one is far too big to be read by dull people and both are written in such a way that a fully functioning mind is required to read and understand them.

Take the Garden of Eden story. Some think it tells them not to eat the fruits of knowledge because they will die if they do. While some read the same story and see how Eve freed herself and Adam from slavery and both lived a very long time. Those with that understanding therefore build libraries in walking distance to every citizen in their cities so people can be freed like Eve. Same story, but more than one interpretation and understanding. One an enslaving mentality, and the other a freeing mentality. It's why American slave owners kept the Bible from their slaves, so the slaves don't read it and be inspired to revolt and free themselves. And why the Qur'an, which in the quoted verse is telling people to read widely to develop their minds, is kept in a language the majority can not read. And unfortunately, rather than see the text in the book and what it does, you see how some have used it to manipulate but disregard those who have used it to open eyes and enlighten and free.

I was recently asked what books to read as a prequel to Heidegger's Being and Time. My response is below. If one is in Nigeria where the most readily available biggest and difficult books to read are the Bible and the Quran and you haven't read them, you'd find it difficult to read Plato, and Heidegger would be like trying to read Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs before you learn to talk.

It's some people who only see their own perspective and no other that tend to have the issues that you have with buda, A001. There's lots of enlightened people who take me very seriously on here and in real life and who don't have issues with me at all. Some wonder how or why I'd quote what you call silly books together with Plato and Aristotle which are not silly, and some try to work out the conundrum it presents before them instead of sticking their heads in the sand and sticking a label on what they see not.

We are here freely communicating in the language of a book, and are opportuned to read many other books in that language too because of a book you claim was "tools of European/Arab colonization, domination, and subjugation". But I don't see colonized, dominated and subjugated A001 when I read what you write, do note, though I do see misinformed due to the lack of deep looking. For claiming "tools of European", you fail to have born in mind that at best it was a tool of Romans, who imposed it on Europe, as its imposition on Britain's was very similar to Nigeria's. Yet see how they are doing and perhaps how we shall do some day.

Make sure you get some ewedu and gbẹgiri to go with your portion of buda's amala please, or you'd be eating your swallow dry.
Don't waste time to reply me further. I didn't bother to read this epistle.

A person that doesn't understand Arabic and can't read Qur'an can't tell me anything about Quran or Islam that I don't already know. FYI, Qur'an only exists in Arabic language.

Any translation of the book isn't the Qur'an itself. Of course, you may not know this fact since you never practiced Islam, and you know little about the religion or its major religious text.

I consider posts praising Qur'an and/or the Bible as silly and such a poster as a stupid African.

I am aware that my words are not for everyone A001, and that some of them will fall by the roadside and the birds come and eat them up. And some of my words will fall on rocky ground where they'll have not much soil but when the sun rise they will be scorched, and because they have no root they will drie up and wither away. Some of my words will fall among thorns and the thorns choked them out. While some of my words will fall on good soil and yield grain–some a hundred times as much as was sown, some sixty times as much, and some thirty. Those who have eyes to see and minds to attempt to understand what they read, shall.
Since the two books you attached as pictures in that post are among the sources of your words, then you must understand why enlightened people would always have issues with your posts. You can't be posting biblical or quranic verses all about that look like tales meant for kids and expect intelligent people to take you seriously.

Those two books are meant for dull people as they make the brain dull. There are thousand and one books about philosophy and science that intelligent people quote in intellectual discussion before even thinking of quoting silly books like the Bible and Qur'an, which are harmful religious texts for Africans.

The Bible and Qur'an are tools of European/Arab colonization, domination, and subjugation. They're mere political tools, and you cite all sorts of literature on Nairaland as expected from a person who is widely read, yet you deceive people by pretending not to know this fact.

That's iwe awon ebo in Yoruba. Na this book I read throughout today grin

This book details how Muslims should rubo (make sacrifices) for the deity or Orisa called Allah as commanded by Qur'an and Sunnah.

You can also check it out, including the quranic verses about ebo or sacrifices based on Islamic injunctions: https://www.iium.edu.my/deed/hadith/muslim/022_smt.html

Read it and let's enjoy this ebo together.

Only Yorubas with a working brain would understand the message in the attached pictures below: The foolish think they're following a monotheistic religion called Islam, but the wise know it's rebranded paganism. African traditionalists obviously get sense pass African Muslims and Christians.

Most of these Muslims and Christians don't even know that their mosques and churches are also what's called a "shrine" in English. They think a "shrine" is only used for African religions or idolatry.

Check the meaning of "shrine" in standard dictionaries and see that the word applies to all places regarded as holy or sacred in any religion.

Isese or esin abalaye (Yoruba native religion) is to Yoruba what Islam is to Saudi. The Arab Muslim is a traditionalist and pagan for following Islam, which is the traditions of his forebears and has key aspects copied from paganism.

The onisese in Yoruba (pagan) is also a traditionalist by following the traditions of his ancestors and forebears in Isese. But due to the relatively lower intelligence of most Africans, they'd condemn and demonize their own cultures and traditions while promoting and celebrating foreign ones that are even worse because of pedophiles and murderers, who are the central figures in these foreign cultures (religions).

Abeg make them beg Swedes oh. Na Nigerians especially Nigerian Christians wey dey North go suffer the fallout of this kin thing
I wonder what kind of religion or god that people worship which would make you kill your fellow humans over some bunch of papers. Mere papers.

Even animals, who are less evolved, will wonder at the stupidity of the followers of this evil religion.

Could it be that those who fight for a god whether online or offline know that their god is actually useless and powerless, and if they don't take up arms and fight for him, nothing will happen to those saying the hard truth about their God?

Muslims don't respect other religious and irreligious people, especially the traditionalists. When I attended the Odun Ifa Agbaye last month, the fact that many deities of Yorubaland, who are the ancestors of these dumb Yoruba Muslims, were being celebrated didn't stop the foolish Yoruba Muslim clerics from demonizing and condemning Orunmila, Eshu, Osun, Ogun, and co.

The e-jihadists here starting from that dolt up there should contact his brothers in the North that kill for Allah and head to Sweden. Go and do what you know how to do best: fight and kill for your god.
