Roland17: Not disputing this but you have to give him his due for finding his way back to the line. As much as you guys despise him, he is one of the best students of the game especially when it comes to interpreting the rules of the game to favor him. It only took him a minute but he looks like he has figured it out. Also, his assist numbers have increased which speaks to the overall improvement in his game. The Nets need Harden to put the numbers up if they are to stand any chance. I have never really questioned his passing, I still believe the refs let him off the hook and come playoff time the Harden we all know and love will show up again. All I'm seeing is the refs are caving again. The man shot 7/25 less than 30% from the field. That is very fraudulent to me |

birdman: One game vs a Lakjers team that has forgotten how to play defense. Stop it. And this is something Tatum needs to learn- games like this will come where its like you cant miss. But you cant carry that to the next game. Those same shots will not fall late in the game with a better defensive team. I just get that feel he goes into the next game and tries to chuck his way to 40 pts again. Abeg bone that thing. Tatum can go on this binge against any team. I do agree his shot selection is a work in progress but same argument can be made for guys like Devin Booker, Donovan Mitchell etc. Not everyone is going to prioritize efficiency. |

Android17: If you even watch the fouls that elicited the free throws you would know the NBA is a joke. The referees literally decide when to make him a star and when to show him who he has become - a proper fraud. I was wondering why they have reneged on their commitment to ref the game better so early. It was laughable a lot of the calls he got |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 1:51pm On Nov 20, 2021 |
etidy: Exactly his game is too free throw centric, occasionally he gets hot but he lives and die by the whistle. This is why you can depend on him in the playoffs when the referees swallow their whistle and when team apply appropriate defensive schemes. It's why I have never really rated his game like that. His style is tailor made for failure in the playoffs, he was yabbing Giannis the other time but me I prefer Giannis's bag to his. He's a lousy volume 3pt shooter and a dribble crossover free throw merchant |

Vs Pelican: 39PTS/ 12 ASSTS/ 5 REB Vs Warriors: 24PTS/ 4 ASSTS/ 4 REB Vs Cavs: 27 PTS/ 7 ASSTS/ 10 REB Vs Magic: 36 PTS/ 8 ASSTS/ 10 REB Surge werey wo. He's merely back to getting his calls and whistles |

Roland17: Consecutive seasons where the Lakers came into the season underprepared. They returned only 3 players from last season which should have heighted their sense of urgency in getting their play together before the season started. But...this is a very experienced side and if they stay healthy, they can put it together on defense especially when you consider they have F. Vogel. Coach Vogel needs to be realistic with how he wants to play on offense and the players at his disposal. Its clear they have not learned their lesson. We just saw the Warriors without Steph, Draymond. Klay and some of their bench depth win at Detroit. That's a chemistry thing but the Lakers for some reason believe once LeNomad comes back everything just will magically be right again. But there is an element of pressure that starting badly will do to you. Already you can see the first two seeds pulling separation. I expect them to bounce back too but of all their losses I've seen this season this one is the most discouraging |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:05am On Nov 20, 2021 |
Roland17: Lateral movements, changing direction and making cuts in reaction to offensive penetration has been troubling. As for my Celtics, I don't think I have missed any game this season and in most of them we struggled to close out leads so I am watching to see how we finish tonight. They are absolutely shocking. Which is why I was baffled at how unserious they were with preseason. Their soft schedule was suppose to provide a buffer and if they had taken preseason seriously they would have figured things out and had a much better start whether LeNomad is down or not. They will now be under enormous pressure their next 15 games because if they finish play in this season again then they are getting embarrassed. Whether they are healthy or not |

Roland17: The Lakers have struggled to move their feet on defense during interior penetration by my Celtics and we have turned paint points into barbecue chicken. They are all lead footed. All of them. I don't know how they fix that as the games pile up especially considering their schedule has been the easiest so far. See as your disjointed Celtics dey take them shine. |

I have watched them 4 times this season, twice when they played my Celtics and I did not fail to give them credit on this thread. The Cavs are well coached team that are disciplined on the court and don't give up easily. Yeah I remember talking about the Cavs earlier. They are very well coached. The injuries are just too much |

Someone that was trying to avoid Giannis from the 1st quarter as him see say Giannis dey on fire. AD was not injured, the way he played is the new AD and get ready to see more of him this way. E say na one leg. This brudda is shameless. Excuses are the tool of the incompetent. Keep crying I thought e go even point out the Bucks defensive scheme and how they doubled AD compared to the Lakers who were giving Giannis open express to the basket. Not forgetting AD tried but simply couldn't stop Giannis who was 7 of 11 with AD as his primary defender Whether healthy or unhealthy 0 Final MVPS, 0 League MVPS, 0 DPOYs. There's levels to this. Topic conclude. |

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 11:56pm On Nov 17, 2021 |
birdman: Luka has. You cannot trade Luka for Tatum. 2 Tatums even That is the definition of far exceeded.
Others have exceeded Tatum, but not by much - Trae Young for example.
Ja Morant approaching Tatum. If this season is like last season, with Tatum underperforming and Morant making noise in the playoffs, well...
Ill skip the bigs since they usually dont follow the same trajectory as guards, forwards Taaa! I no gree this one. Jayson has led his team to a Conference Final, been an All NBA player and All star so don't tell me any of his mates have far exceeded him. Not even LUKA Trae Young ko, Trae song ni. Where is his All NBA appearance? He's just doing what Jayson did two seasons ago. You could argue it was a good team, he was still the best player on it Lol at Ja Morant. Just lol Wait. You think Luka would have beaten the Nets last season in the playoffs? |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 11:21pm On Nov 17, 2021 |
KD had to leave the Warriors. That one is a no brainer. Just 1 ring even with these Nets would get him a bit more respect than what he did with the Warriors. Hell if he had beaten the Bucks last season and lost in the Finals he would get more respect among the really loud fans even his haters on SM |

Ibime: Rohr has achieved my expectations of qualifying for every tournament and getting to AFCON semi each time.
I couldn't care about all that talk about promising players because we had promising players when we failed to qualify for 2006 World Cup, 2011 AFCON, 2015 AFCON and 2017 AFCON before Rohr
You must have short memory to miss 3 out of 4 AFCONs before Rohr, then act like Rohr is the one holding you back when he has delivered every time. Disgraceful. Nigeria never missed AFCON in my lifetime and always made semifinal since I was born (except 2004 quarters) before these so called local coaches started failing to even qualify.
Rohr has stabilised our defence and brought professionalism to our backline, unlike before where we would be seeing Furo Iyenemi and all sorts of barely professional players in our defence playing like semi-professional defenders. For the first time, we have foreign raised players wanting to play consistently for Nigeria over many years because they know there is consistency and merit in the selection process unlike before when they know they can lose their place at any time to a Plateau United player or an expired old pro who paid bribe to take their spot. Now we have good talents like Joe Aribo, Ola Aina etc commiting to Nigeria full-time.
Speaking of talent, we are nowhere near the most talented in Africa. Senegal have by far the best team on paper and Ivory Coast and Algeria have better names on paper, while we are on par with Morocco, Egypt and Cameroon Rohr has spoilt us. We have forgotten how we used to rely on Laplace transform every final day of qualifiers so quickly. Anytime I hear these complaints I just laugh |

Lol. Blame Draymond Green. I don't understand how any man stays after all that drama plus the NBA Finals where he was under pressure to play. Whether direct or implied
Overall it had to happen just like Brady and Belichick had to split. Part of the thrill is watching to see who is first to a ring the Warriors or KD |
