Different Cops... Different mentality
This scenario is far different from that of Rayshard. The white guy took a less harmful weapon (baton) from the officer and drove off with their car. Common sense should tell you that the car would be tracked and the guy will be facing the book. This isn't even a white privilege issue. We've seen lotta black guys open fire on police vehicles, beat up cops rob them and do worst, yet they get away with it. This is far different from Rayshard's case, Dude pointed a taser at a cop and you expect the officer just to pass out like that without doing anything?. Do you know the kind of fear the cop would've have felt if Rayshard eventually tased him? Especially this desperate times.
This scenario is just different from that of Rayshard.

However, a suspect that does this is unlikely to lose his life because while the olopa arresting him may be a card carrying racist, the olopa doesn't have a gun.

The answer then, is to take away the gun from the police, and remove the possibility of a shooting based on prejudice

But how do you take away guns from the police in a country that has the highest number of civilian-held guns in the world?

Police will always have a justification for use of force as long as guns are at play. The point I've been trying to make to A40 is that 80% of these incidents are 2nd amendment incidents.

UK policy makers know that guns escalate mundane matters and decided not to give their Police guns. Meanwhile citizens easily acquiesce to arrest knowing their life is not in danger, and when they don't acquiesce, it doesn't turn deadly.

We keep dancing around the koko of the matter, and giving jittery and prejudiced cops an out using the reasonable force excuse. Meanwhile on the other hand we have people saying Police should ignore a DUI for the sake of peace as if any country can afford to allow tens of thousands of it's citizens to DUI every week putting the road using public and pedestrians in danger. No, let the law be the law, and if you take guns off both citizens and Police, the law can be enforced without rancour.

Otherwise we would be coming back every few weeks to analyse different scenarios as to whether the use of force was justified, or whether Police should have ignored the law and let a perpetrator slide. Meanwhile racial tensions, both real and falsely perceived will continue to exarcebate.

Below is a typical British situation where someone assaulted a police officer by throwing them into the sea. We get loads of these incidents per week and no one dies. If na Yankee this happen, bullets for fly.

The encounter was legitimate. Rayshard Brooks physically attacked the cops trying to arrest him, stole their taser, and aimed it at the cops. He was fleeing at the time he pointed it, but force was clearly justified. Case closed
