Roland17: Speaking about drafting smart, I am worried the Spurs have been poor in the draft recently. Popovic and the Spurs were renowned for identifying talents, particularly less heralded talents, however, over the last 4 drafts, their picks have failed to transition into that first team player than can carry or support the team. The transition away from Big 3 and Kawhi to some extent has been challenging because of this problem. Infact, the only draft pick that has shown little promise is Dejounte Murray but he has been injured for the most part and is not particularly good in offensive scoring. They really need to address this issue. Well it's pretty difficult to get game-changing talent in the lower end of the draft. Even the law of averages suggest that the Spurs are overdue some bad seasons. Bear in mind that even teams like Cleveland with not one but 3 #1 picks in less than a decade have done pretty much nothing with it. Fultz a #1 pick is almost looking like a bust I think the Spurs would be in for even more rough years after Pop leaves. They're a small market team and not exactly a free agent destination |

Roland17: LMAO @ Trae. I knew it would be impossible to replicate those Curry type shots in the NBA. The kid went from shooting 36% from beyond the arc in Oklahoma to a paltry 23.8% in the NBA.
As for the Suns, they drafted Ayton number who has not particularly met the hype on offense, neither is he interested in playing defense. I mean he gets the numbers here and there but nothing strong enough to support Booker and Warren. He is still a rookie with a lot of upsides but I hope he does not up like J. Okafor or N. Noel. Things happen very fast in the NBA and teams move on quicker than in the past. I saw one of these millennial TraeSZN accounts on Twitter call him a top 10 PG and I nearly lost my shyte. Now I think he's shown potential to be an above average passer but as a scorer his lack of efficiency is ridiculous! He is still a rookie sha but this tendency to keep launching treys off long dribbles might not get him very far I like Ayton. He's a pretty efficient scorer. Sadly he plays no D which is a waste for his size. This Suns team should be doing better than their record. Booker is in his 4th year and Warren in his 5th. The youth argument is wearing a little thing as time goes on. I thought the addition of vets like J Crossover and Ariza would help but it hasn't thus far (ignoring his game-winning shot today) |
