occam: joke indeed! 38 wins gets to the playoff and in the miserable Atlantic division, 35 wins can get the top spot and automatic 4th seed. NBA needs to do something
I woulda suggested they followed the NFL model and not pair these teams on a geographical proximity basis but the sheer volume of games doesn't make this feasible. Let's just hope things even out because this is atrocious! 12 teams in the West are at least .500

The Nets won't make any noise in the playoffs! If they get there. They would get killed by the Heat,Pacers,Bulls,Hawks and even the Wizards

A very gritty win from what I saw! It always is against Augsburg

And Robben and Kroos have to waste no more time. They should extend their contract, Boateng could wait.
Haha why should Boateng wait? He is also a key member of the squad right now

How are we playing? Who is watching the game?

Da phuck? So you mean if the season ended today only 3 teams from the East would be .500 or above? No wonder the Heat have been steadily r@ping the East and coasting to titles! Its a joke how bad these guys are while you have teams in the West over .500 that would miss the playoffs
Bad week, totally for us! First ajax and then this, we need to step up. For those calling for martino's head already, I'd say HABA! It's way too early na, the loss was deserved cos we played woefully, and as much as Messi would have changed the game (he's the best in the world, so any team would depend on him), you need to know that we lose matches that even he plays in, and lastly San mames is a ground which we haven't won in the last 3 seasons.

Neymar on the other hand should stop going to the ground easily and start focusing on scoring, aggh! It's so freaking annoying. I'm sure he was looking for a penalty and probably wanted the defender that brought him down outside the box to get a red, Messi wouldn't do that.
When we been dey point out him disgraceful dives and playacting they called us haters! dayokanu: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is just 18 years old, but he has seen greater experiences than many others in a lifetime. Both ups and downs. From his history to the shocking message that his father had only six months to live.

He has just been named the Danish Talent of the Year by the members of the Danish Football Player Association, and it is in an interview that he tells the story of the message that made him collapse. The prize he received was dedicated to his father, who just three months ago thought he was going to die within a year.

In the interview on the Players' Association's website, he tells how he got the shock of his life, when his father Christian Højbjerg was diagnosed with cancer. Danish doctors had given him their judgement that he had half to a full year to live. But not everyone gave up.

Højbjerg: "I was heartbroken. Unhappy. I went over to the club, and I just started crying. I was completely finished. Uli Hoeness picked me up. He immediately began to help me. He contacted the brightest doctors in Germany, got my father down here where they began treating him immediately. A week ago the doctors said that he has a chance. In fact, there is a good chance that he will survive. I'm sure that he will survive, and it's great. It says a lot about this club that they are there for me and my family."
Wow a very touching and heartwarming story. How would he not give his all when he puts on a Bayern shirt

dayokanu: Alaba extends contract

Paul George really needs to start moving a little closer to the basket! 10 3's is a little too much for one night.

The Clips are really going to miss JJ Redick. For all the talk about Chris Paul he's been the unsung hero of that team
Who saw that crossover by Jamal Crawford BTW? Had Stephenson running for the hills! It was sick

Lool is Robben trying to displace Ribery as a Balon D'or candidate? Its ironic because everyone thought Guardiola would offload him and then there was the penalty fiasco but he's handled everything better than anyone could have expected

Roland17: @40
You make me laffff, Wenger has no business with the NBA and as far as soccer goes, Wenger is and would always be regarded as one
Double-standards nicca! Wenger is only regarded by you guys BTW

Roland17: See this is where you are very wrong, when Jackson retired did he jump into the NBA immediately? Jackson retired in 2004, I stand corrected, but he joined the media after retiring and was only hired by the warriors in 2011 after exposure to the game from the outside, that gave him the oppourtunity to learn the game and coaching tricks which is quite unique and don't forget he spoke to great coaches before he accepted that job.
Media? What is the correlation between media gigs and coaching? Why are Ernie Johnson and Bob Sager not coaching? Blame the Nets for hiring a rookie and not Jason Kidd

Roland17: As far as that joint is concerned, keep KG and Pierce far from it, if you have no expectations from the nets, then why expect much from the truth and KG.
Far from what? They are the worst players on the team! This is pretty obvious

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 5:39pm On Nov 29, 2013
Polio: It is a big step up for JK... But you gotta ask Mikhail Prokhorov who took such a big gamble

JK knows himself that its a big step up .. He knows he is still learning the ropes .. He believes in himself and has the support of the top heirarchy at the moment...

It might not be a successful one but whichever it goes, he will learn from it .. They say if you dont get a first break, you dont know if you are ready for a bigger challenge!

Prokhorov and any other involved in hiring him are the men ya'all should should hold responsible!
The jury is out on Jason Kidd but it would be unfair to judge him on this team! Even Phil Jackson bailed like a bondsman at the chance of coaching them that should tell you something

Babzilla: BAD MOVE BY THE LAKERS IF U ASK ME
THE BLACK MAMB'S VENOM IS NOT SO POTENT
THEY SHOULD EXPLORE WHAT HE IS WORTH
SHOULD THEY TRADE THEN BUILD FROM THERE
WHATS WITH THE HANGING ON SMH
Hanging on? Lol he only won them like 5 titles and spent about half his life there! Personally I couldn't imagine Kobe wearing another shirt and its great that he would most likely retire a Laker. Money or luxury tax doesn't matter to the Lakers
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 5:28pm On Nov 29, 2013
Roland17: Honestly I would be mad and disappointed at anyone who comes here to pity Jason Kidd, he agreed to become head coach for a team that was built to win now and compete for the eastern conference title, he clearly understood the expectations that comes with such position with the Brooklyn nets..
Yet you are not mad or disappointed at trophyless Wenger who in 30 years of coaching has no international title to his name. Abeg apply your emotions appropriately

Check page 86 me I had no expectations for this team all I saw was a bunch of old niggas trying to get a last big payday! That team wasn't built to win nada

Roland17: I personally felt he was jumping the gun, he should have started out as an assistant coach, learn the tricks of coaching which is quite distinct from playing basketball, that way he would master coaching tactics (offensively and defensively) I have watched the nets over and over again and it's not as a result of bad players, but very bad play calls, Jason Kidd should own up to this one.
Jumping the gun? Did he hire himself? Anyway I still think Jason Kidd should get a stay of execution cos even Phil Jackson would struggle with these old ninjas

We can see what Mark Jackson is doing with little or no prior coaching experience

These players are playing badly! What is Jason Kidd supposed to do when Deron Williams is badly conditioned and his excess weight is putting too much strain on his ankles? Joe Johnson and Paul Pierce are missing clean and open looks game after game! KG is scoring less than 10pts per game and the defence is actually worse instead of better when he is on the floor

Roland17: At 37 and 36 KG and the Truth did not join the Nets to become franchise players, playing every minute and carrying the team on their already hunched backs.nope... In fact, KG made up his mind to retire if he was ever traded away from the Celtics but was convinced by the Truth to give the journey to Brooklyn a try...
They were brought in to help D.Williams and J. Johnson, so if you are sitting there disappointed at KG and the Truth, then you are on a very long thing.

#stillbleedinggreen#
They were brought to help but are so far stinking up the joint! You can argue till you are blue in the face but this is the naked truth. Since their arrival they've actually made this team worse

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 10:35pm On Nov 28, 2013
My question is what do these guys do at shootaround? I mean both the Nets and Knicks! 3-20 from 3 point range? Paul Pierce shooting 4 of 17
Joe Johnson 9 misses out of 10!

occam: .

I do. In the horrid East, only the Pacers & Heat are sure to make it. So Nets can creep into 7th or 8th spot; still early days
You need to factor age! Guys like Pierce,KG,JET would only get worse and not better. Let's wait and see tho
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by A40(m): 5:28pm On Nov 28, 2013
StarBoard: Leave story for tortoise or Jimi Solanke. Nobody called Spurs that you and dayo are trying to contrive into this argument.
Look to last seasons table in the Bundesliga and tell me how that league can be considered competitive.
Answer on a postcard.
Where did you see me type Spurs? You don come with ayagayagayagayo argument. You beat Leverkussen 5-0 big deal! My point is they are no heavyweights and as you wrongly assumed they don't always finish in top 4

Bayern was the best team in Europe last season it could be argued that Dortmund abandoned the league to perform in Europe. The previous two seasons we were soundly beaten by Dortmund sef so what is your point?

If Europe cannot stop Bayern common sense dictates that Germany would find it difficult as well
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by A40(m): 5:10pm On Nov 28, 2013
In the last 7 seasons Man U has won 5 league titles the only two they didn't win had a Drogba offside goal and the other team winning on goal difference and even to do that both clubs had to spend over a billion pounds. Competitive indeed

"Six teams can win the EPL" looool! I'm still waiting for someone to list those teams
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by A40(m): 5:06pm On Nov 28, 2013
StarBoard: It's not about 5-nil.
Leverkusen will always finish in the top 4 in Germany, so I'm pretty sure they are a "heavyweight" in German terms.
Just two seasons ago they didn't make the UCL! So much for always finishing in the top 4

They are a good team but heavyweight? No way Jose

StarBoard: When Bayern was being sodomized by Zenit St. Petersburg in the UEFA Cup, what was that?
The Same City a year later have coasted to the next round. And United have gotten past that blip of 2011.
So your point is?
Bayern made Europa semis! Zenit went on to win

You guys caught a beatdown from Bilbao home and away.

City caught a beatdown to some Portuguese club as well

We saw defending UCL Champion (EPL product) Chelsea fail to advance from the group stage just last season they also went on to the Club World Cup to disgrace Europe. So much for this competitive league

BTW are you seriously bragging about City advancing in a group comprising CSKA Moscow and Plzen? Lololololol

StarBoard: Arsenal beat Dortmund in the reverse fixture, which is a more recent occurence.
Who is to say that City will not beat Bayern at home?
As per Basel, I didn't know they were a German team.
So I'm going to ignore that part.
Your argument is all over the place. Who is to say City won't beat Bayern? Can you bet on that or are you asking JAMB questions

I think getting beat home and away by a team from Switzerland is an even bigger disgrace

StarBoard: Perspective in an event that occured 3 months ago, as against one that occurred 3 days ago?
Which would you choose to make a valid argument?
Try again, jare.
Perspective because it was a freak result! 3 months ago or 3 days ago still falls under this season so my point is relevant
Dortmund played without their entire back 4

StarBoard: I'm still telling you to accept the fact that the Bundesliga has no competition as of now.
I can only look to Saturday's tie with Dortmund to make that conclusion.
Do your research! That was our first win in the last 7 league matches vs Dortmund

StarBoard: I'm basing my arguments on events that have occured in the past 3month or so, and you're taking us back to the old school to point out Otelul Galati.
Bayern minus Ribery beat a Dortmund team supposed to challenge for the title easily 3-nil at home, and you want me to believe that there is some competition in the bundesliga.
Conveniently forgetting they were missing Hummels,Subotic,Schmelzer,Piszcek and Gundogan
You keep harping on the result but its obvious you didn't watch the match which was far more closely fought than the scoreline suggests

StarBoard: Schalke, Leverkusen and Dortmund are just making up the numbers in your supposed competitive league.
All English teams have come and won without conceding in Germany so far (3 out of four ties). Convince me otherwise that the Bundesliga is inferior to the EPL in terms of competition.
All this is tales by moonlight! As things stand yall are still watching the throne and all the Bundesliga representatives can still qualify and two of them would most likely top their group
