birdman: Its not that they lost. Its how they lost. This wasnt an 8-0 team. They ran up the score towards the end and made it look respectable. Now if this 8-0 streak was towards the end of the season, it would have been legit - the only teams in the league that should be comfortable streaking right now would be spurs, thunder, heat. it is meaningless for any other team
You said they were peaking too early but I listed all their flaws for you. So your argument is lost on me. A team at its peak should have no flaws so if you think they are peaking then where did the flaws come from?
A streak counts for little! At any point of the season! A key injury an opponent that matches up well with you can send all hopes down the toilet!

If Lebron tears his knee the Heat are done
If Parker gets injured the Spurs are done
If Westbrook or Durant get injured the Thunder are done (we saw this last season)

So it goes beyond streak or no streak
Roland17: I mentioned this earlier and i am not reiterating this cos the pacers lost.. Far from that.. The pacers might possess the strongest opposition to the heats but it in no way guarantees them a ticket to the conference finals and that is because George is very much guardable in the east.. His style of play has evolved tremendously but it's still over reliant on jump shots and three's,p
That team goes beyond just Paul George its true that he is a tad over reliant on J's but like I said earlier he has not discovered his full potential offensively yet. He's only shooting at 46% but he can get better
He won't miss those shots everytime and like I said it was the 2nd road game of a back to back

Roland17: and that is where Queen James has bullied this generation of NBA players, he has mastered all forms of scoring except his free throws which could be suspect especially during clutch moments.
Lebron is in his 11th season I don't need to tell you how long it took him to improve his post-game

Roland17: Last night he went for 3-14(FG Attempt) 0-3 ( 3ps) and a total of 6 rebounds in 34 mins... I am in no way undermining George but I am still not convinced they can defeat a team like the bulls or the nets in the eastern conference playoff's.
The Nets? Loooool! That team might not even make the playoffs. As for the Bulls its a toss up but in a 7 game series I would still go with the Pacers

Vettel on pole! Webber 2nd,Grosjean 3rd,Hulkenberg 4th,Hamilton 5th and Alonso 6th

Expect a lot of people on the even numbered side of the grid to lose a place from the start as they are on the dirty side of the track! Same thing happened last year and we saw Alonso and Ferrari tamper with Massa's gearbox just to get on the clean side

Sergio Perez kicked out of McLaren and Massa to Williams! Interesting stuff

Raikkonen done for the season with a bad back and has since been replaced by Kovalainen

birdman: See how the Pacers lost? Thats what I meant by win streaks hiding your bad habits. When a good team that means you finally gets to you, you lose bad. Pacers didnt look like an unbeaten team tonight.
Hehehe see Captain Obvious! Who said the Pacers would not lose? I even pointed out their weaknesses when you claimed they were peaking so your point is still a mystery. They are also on the 2nd leg of back to back road games its not unexpected that they could have lost

Beasley looking like a valuable pickup for the Bulls while the Nets can't stop losing

Mavs are 6-4 yet to beat a big team tho so I can't place a read on em

Something needs to be done about our poor road form tho! Also those turnovers! Calderon is not doing his job effectively enough either that or the offense is just being badly run

kliq: They made it 9-0,the 1st team with a 9-0 start since the 02/03 season hopefully they extend the streak against the bulls on saturday...apart from the streak they are playing so well especially on the defense with roy hibbert coming up with so many block shots and rebounds.

My lakers: angry
Hibbert is a beast man! 8 blocks! If he keeps working on his offense that Indy team would be trouble. Seems to be slowly playing up to his huge deal

As for the Lakers well 7th or 8th seed would be a success in itself

Just couldn't overpower the Heat. Smh! Not sure we've beaten them since the NBA Finals

nitlad: Graham Hunter though a pillock, got this bit right. . .
Isn't it ironic that Messi's astronomical goal return has directly coincided with Barca's decline? Its not the sole reason but its a major one. Any astute fan would have been worried as to why Messi is scoring almost 2/3rd of the goals per season instead fanboys were jizzin their pants! I predicted that both La Liga teams would fall against Bundesliga opposition because Messi and Ronaldo have been enabled to carry on an arms race. Luckily it seems Martino has put a pause to it let's see how it goes I still expect Messi to fully bounce back
Yeah but not in a year that has a lot of competitions. Why're you comparing the world cup, a tournament you can win with just 7 matches with a whole season than has nothing less than 50 matches and 3 competitions.
The World Cup is the most important event in all of sports
Even if its 1 match that it takes to win it its the World Cup
Like I said, comparing lampard/gerrard with Xavi/iniesta won't be odd, people won't bite your head off if you do that, the latter aren't known for their goalscoring as much as for their assist rate, and the former, as I earlier said won't be overlooked especially when they score a lot of goals, that's one of the reasons why lampard came 2nd in the 2006 ballon d'or.
Lampard/Gerrard assist and score more than Xavi and Iniesta! They beat both of them in that category but I don't hear anyone comparing them to Zidane like they do with Xavi and Iniesta
For the bolded, the players you mentioned are prolific YES but they don't disgrace goals like the duo of Messi and Ronaldo, and who said their goals (messi and ronaldo) don't produce trophies? If zidane played in this era, dominates as he always does and ends the season with the amount of goals he always does, and there's Messi/Ronaldo who score 50+ goals @ barca/madrid respectively with trophies, zidane won't sniff the ballon d'or, he'll come 3rd at best.
You can only beat what is ahead of you! How many trophies did Messi and Ronaldo win last season? The emphasis is on last season so no need to go beyond that scope

If Zidane wins more trophies and helps his team win titles common sense dictates that he wins the award ahead of the 50+ goal scorers that won nothing! I keep telling yall Balon D'or is /= Highest goal scorer there's a separate award for that

Johnpaul88: ^^
Whatever you say, Mr A-40.

All Ribery needs to do to be able to win Ballon d'oro, is to score more goals. Messi have set the bar so high that you need more than winning trophies to win the award.
How many goals did Kaka score in 2007 to win the award? Football goes beyond just scoring goals! Iniesta won the best player award at the last Euros and he didn't score any goal! Why didn't they give Ronaldo or Torres? There's more to the game than just goals
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by A40(m): 4:43pm On Nov 15, 2013
Person even mention Neymar! Neymar ko eczema ni

yourangel: It's pathetic and utterly disappointing to read words like the bolded from a self-proclaimed football fan. I would enjoin all my cule brothers and sisters here to ignore you and your posts because it's obvious that you are a child who started watching football last season when Bayern won the CL. Otherwise, you won't write those words. Who is Ribery? His case for the Ballon d'Or is because Bayern won the treble last season. Not because he's a better player than CR7 and Messi. In the season that led to the mind blowing scoring record of 91 goals by Messi, he gave 28 assists. Who on earth does that? Only Messi does! Be it Maradona, Zidane or Ronaldinho, they never assisted and scored like Messi does year in and year out. This is the wonder of Messi, and the reason some football legends believe he's the greatest football player ever. He scores in volumes, and assist in volumes. Can your Ribery assist and score simultaneously like Messi does? No way! To reduce Messi to a mere goal poacher (as inferred in your words) is disgusting and malicious. You can make an honest case for Ribery. You don't have to resort to such lies and total distortion of the truth before you make your case clear. Ribery would wish to be like Messi or Ronaldo for just one day in his life time. Who knows Ribery if not for the treble of Bayern? Messi and Ronaldo don't have to win any treble before people know them. They are gods in the world of football. A testament to the fact that Ribery is crying that his own people in France prefer Messi and Ronaldo for the award.

Maradona said this sometime ago, "Messi is my Maradona". Last week, Hernan Crespo quipped that Maradona was his idol in football, but for him, "Messi is better than Maradona". Three days ago, our own Sergio Busquets was asked what he would want to be like if he reincarnates. His answer was "if I reincarnate, I would like to come as Leo Messi". Would any Bayern player wish to reincarnate as Ribery? God forbid bad thing! (lol). I believe if you are given the option to reincarnate between Ribery and Messi (only), you would undoubtedly go for the latter...lol. So, you see what I am talking about?

I won't be surprised if Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar appear as the top three candidates for the Ballon d'Or this year. Luckily for Ribery, it's the top five candidates (instead of the usual top three) that will be unveiled this time around. So, he stands the chance of being among the final five candidates. People only know about Ribery in Europe. Ballon d'Or is not awarded by Europeans only, but by the whole world. Neymar's achievements in the confederations cup are more spectacular to voters outside of Europe than Ribery's. That Ribery won the best player in Europe award is not a guarantee he would win the Ballon d'Or. Our darling Iniesta won the best player in Europe award last year, yet he came third (yes, third, not even second) in the Ballon d'Or.

Ribery is a fantastic player and I would be happy for him if he wins the award this time. However, he can never be in the league of Messi and Ronaldo. Never ever! Please tell Ribery to focus on qualifying his country for the world cup. Messi don qualify him country tay tay!
You better watch your phucking mouth! Cos if I get to insulting you might commit seppuku. Everyone here has been articulating their points intelligently and without resorting to insults I don't know where a halfwit jizzwallet like you gets off talking down on others
So your criteria for judging both Messi and Ronaldo's season now lie in a match, just one: the UCL semi finals. I mean, of all the 50+ matches they played, you're judging by just that one? Hmmmn…and you say they don't influence matches much, really? It's like the first time I'm hearing that.
Football is hit or miss! Just like basketball! If Zidane did not headbutt Materazzi and France won the WC we all know Zizou woulda been voted World Best
Same way Baggio scoring for Italy and Italy winning would have gifted him the Golden Ball and WPOTY

One game can define and has defined legacies all the time
@ bolded, Mario Gomez scored 40+ goals last 2 seasons and got Bayern to the UCL which they unluckily lost to Chelsea, so don't say a Bayern player can't score that much.
Who were the other options? We barely had a backup striker and Ribery and Robben battled injuries almost all season. Is it a coincidence that we also won nothing during that period? What were the use of Gomez's 40 goals when he could not score in the UCL vs Chelsea the Pokal vs Dortmund and a league match that would have kept the title alive at Dortmund! He went missing so his 40 goals counted for phuckall!
And if you wanna have an argument about Lampard/Gerrard being better than Xavi/Iniesta, it won't sound far-fetched cos they're exceptional players, and was there ever an era where goals weren't very important? Imagine zidane playing in this era and influencing games by his 'dominatory skills' while Ronaldo scores 50+ goals, you think zidane will win the ballon d'or? Think twice.
Lampard and Gerrard are exceptional players as well! Xavi and Iniesta can never match their goalscoring exploits but no one in their right minds would compare them to the former pair I listed above
When Zidane was winning his titles there were goal machines like Makaay,Van Nistelrooy,Jardel,Shevchenko yet they never sniffed the awards! The sheer volume counts for shyte if they are not winning titles with it. In a sane and rational environment Zidane should win titles if he leads his teams to titles while Ronaldo or Messi scores 50+ goals including 15 penalties

Johnpaul88: When Chelsea won the UCL & FA Cup last two seasons, no one considered any of their players for any recognition whatsoever. Why do you think the situation will be any different now that Bayern won? Or did Bayern will another ucl any different from those of Chelsea?
Comparing Chelsea of two seasons ago to Bayern!
Is that a joke? Look my face! I dey laugh? Even the aboki man sellin suya on your street knows that that Chelsea played the most cringe and barf inducing soccer in recent times. The general consensus was they fluked their way to the title and we can all see that subsequent results proved that fact

Bayern won a treble while Chelsea finished 5th in their league!

The quality of football was miles apart

All experts have crowned Bayern the best team in Europe no one said that about Chelsea

6 Bayern players made the 23 man shortlist. More than 25% that speaks for itself

Johnpaul88: Semi final? Time that mattered most? Every time matters in football because if you relax in the initial stages, you won't have a chance at all at playing in the semi final. So mere playing in the semi final is a success already!
Its not a success when you are going against someone from a team that wiped the floor with you!
All time matters but if players with over 100 goals in a season can play no role whatsoever in helping their team then sorry the previous achievements count for nought! If you leave Uni in your 4th year 1st semester. Do you get a B.sc?

Lol!

All i know is that Ribery should allow his work to speak for him. Messi never talks about Ballon d' oro and now he's 4! Penaldo & his cohorts have all been drumming support for him all these years, using all means possible including relinquishing his position as national team captain in order to get some extra votes & blackmailing FIFA . But after all said & done, he won nothing!
Politics 101: You have to campaign harder than the incumbent ninja when aspiring for a post

For Nigeria PDP do not need to campaign as hard as ACP to retain power same way in Lagos ACN do not need to campaign as hard as PDP

Messi is the darling of the media and general public which is why he has won even in years he didn't deserve it (2010)

Johnpaul88: Ribery's tactics may have worked for him in Monaco, since all the few select journalists are always encouraged to vote the winners of the just concluded European competition, be it Ucl or Euro, for European best award. It's pretty easy!
Ribery did not resort to any tactics! What tactics could he have resorted to to influence journalists who are not exactly the most cooperative people in the world add that to his harsh face and you have to realize he earned that shii

Johnpaul88: But when you talk about dealing with over 600 voters for the Ballon d'oro, it's a different ball game! He needs more than mere ranting to win.
MD is even reporting that Neymar is making a serious inroad in the scheme of things in the votes & may yet spring up alotta surprises. Afterall he starred in the confederations Cup & he plays for the highly favoured FC Barcelona!
Neymar would not make the top 3 unless Blatter does some abracadabra and increases the shortlist to 5 which I suspect he is doing already. You would be jonzing on wax if you think Neymar would win the award on the back of a glorified friendly like the Confed Cup
We get it. He's good but I can't believe you can just write off players who score 50+ goals simply because most of them were scored against small teams. Ribery also played against small teams you know? He knows his lack of goals might count against him that's why he accusing people in France of inferiority complex,
What was the use of the 50+ goals if titles were not won in the end? Ronaldo won none and Messi won one both were nowhere to be found when it mattered most while Ribery shone like a million stars!
Neither Ronaldo nor Messi would score those astronomical number of goals at Bayern because Bayern is multi-dimensional! last season 8 players scored at least 8 goals that simply means they would take fewer shots and invariably their goal tally reduces

Carmelo might average more points than Chris Paul doesn't mean he played better
and if zidane and ronaldinho had played in this era, they wouldn't win the ballon d'or. Goals count bro, they do.

NB: He should focus of getting his country to the world cup and indirectly begging for votes. That's what champions do.
So we can say Gerrard and Lampard are better than Xavi and Iniesta by far! Since they score more goals
Its a pity we are in an era where goals are the only thing that counts! Neither Ronaldo or Messi have influenced a game like a Zidane or Ronaldinho in their prime. Maradona did not score 1million goals a season but we saw his contribution. I'm not moved by hattricks against Celta Vigo,Rayo Vallecano and Spartak Moscow. My question is where was Messi and Ronaldo against Bayern and Dortmund?

Roland17: Screams in Shaq's voice..BIRDMAN! BIRDMAN!!!

Don't get carried away by the performances of the Pacers, as much as people love to join bandwagons I am not buying just yet...
The last two seasons show they are a team on the rise

Roland17: Honestly it would be a big shame, yet of no surprise to me if the Pacers after a successful regular season loose in the first or second round to the bulls, nets or even the Celtics.....form, injury, balance and chemistry are inevitable factors.. Their best player in George is very much guard able in the east especially by the heats and the bulls if they are able to work their chemistry and keep Rose healthy...
That Pacers team is very well coached! They have age on their side and Paul George is playing for a max deal! He would die on that court every night just to get that contract and benefit from the "Derrick Rose" rule

Nets loool Celtics bigger looooool Indy would beat those guys to a vegetative state

Paul George is not guardable infact he's like Lebron he's just not fully aware of his offensive abilities yet. He's only 23 and still growing! Defensively he's already elite

Injuries would definitely play a role but I like this Pacers team they have the depth and the star player to fight the Heat to a stand still! The Bulls can't do that not even with a healthy Rose and homecourt advantage

Roland17: And if anyone thinks the pacers can win anything without Granger accepting his role on the bench which is very very important then you must be joking.

I already mentioned it would be a big shame and indictment on the league if the heats make the finals for the fourth time consecutively and win It all for the third time consecutively..... Although questionable officiating has been a part of the heats story in the past four season, I expect someone to kick them out this year.
I think even Granger knows his days as a starter are long gone its stopped being his team a long time ago

If you want an end to the Heat reign you better support the Pacers with renewed vigor. The Nets are too old the Bulls don't have "it" to beat the Heat 4 times and the rest of the East would be fortunate to take more than 1 game in a seven game series

birdman: Granger may even be a hindrance at this point . I think he is valuable, but I get the vibe the coaching staff feel they can do without him. I think the <100ppg is a matter of style not firepower

They are still going to need someone to put in the points from the wing when Paul George has a bad night! I think Granger knows he is pretty much not a starter anymore judging by the growth of Lance Stephenson but he is approaching free agency and at 30 would find it hard to corral a good contract if he doesn't perform

It is a matter of firepower when you go 8 straight games without 100pts and the point guard missing time is a factor! They are leaning heavily on their D what with Roy Hibbert blocking like 4 shots per game. You claim the Pacers are peaking too early I'm telling you they have not peaked at all! Even with the wins the flaws are glaring so its rather confusing to hear you go on about their weaknesses yet claim they have peaked

Every team would go through slumps at any point in time! I'm sure their goal is to finish with the best record in the East and not go 82-0

Johnpaul88: Ribery's desperation is becoming embaressing! I think Bayern fans will be ashamed of him. I have doubts that he 'll win it though. The national team captains & coaches who votes ,doesn't really care about who won what or who deserved what! It's all about popularity and name. Messi & Penaldo will always be on their mind. I guess it's only journalist that cares about those stats but unfortunately for Ribery, they are quite few compared to other voters! So Mr Ribery may have his work cut out on this one. This is not the one he won in Monaco, where all the voters are journalist who knows the stats.
Bayern fans are not ashamed of him! We know this Balon D'Or thing is really a popularity contest the more reason he has to keep throwing his name out there. It was the same thing that was done for the European awards and it worked wonders! Ribery had 39 votes out of 56
He should fold his arms and get cheated of an award he rightfully deserves? I think not! The sheer number of players from Bayern clearly show everyone is aware of the team's accomplishments. Let Ribery campaign as he sees fit! He's earned it
As I said, no qualms is Ribery wins it but I say again, because his team won everything last season doesn't make him better than Messi and Ronaldo. Robben, Suarez, Falcao and Ibrahimovic are more deserving of it than Ribery in my opinion. Bayern were the WOW team, not Ribery the WOW player.

As for the bolded, when zidane and ronaldinho were winning the awards, players don't score 50+ goals per season then, and as much as you might wanna take all round play into consideration, goals also count. At least Messi also won the exact same thing Ribery's is winning now in 2009 and we all know how many goals he scored.
He created more goals than all those players you listed above including Messi that has to count for something
Last season all Bayern fans know that along with Schweini and Lahm Franck Ribery na our brainbox without him we always seemed to struggle! So far this season he has also been a beast. It is not Ribery's fault that he plays in a very balanced team were the goalscoring load is evenly distributed!

Already this season at Bayern
Mandzukic: 10 goals
Muller: 10 goals
Ribery: 9 goals 7 assists

Ribery's game does not revolve around goals so judging him solely by goals is missing the point check out his dribbles, creativity, his ability to influence the game! The distance he covers (go and check it aya e a ja) and how hard he works for his team

Scoring 50 goals does not make you the best player in the world especially when you realize most of those goals are against hapless teams that have given up the fight! 1 more goal from Ronaldo against Dortmund would have been more important than 5 against Rayo Vallecano last season! You can't be the best when you didn't show up when it mattered most. Zidane and Ronaldinho won WPOTY and didn't score half as many goals as Henry! Zidane barely won the league and Ronaldinho did not even win a spoon so what are we talking about here?

Johnpaul88: Ribery's desperation is becoming embaressing! I think Bayern fans will be ashamed of him. I have doubts that he 'll win it though. The national team captains & coaches who votes ,doesn't really care about who won what or who deserved what! It's all about popularity and name. Messi & Penaldo will always be on their mind. I guess it's only journalist that cares about those stats but unfortunately for Ribery, they are quite few compared to other voters! So Mr Ribery may have his work cut out on this one. This is not the one he won in Monaco, where all the voters are journalist who knows the stats.

yourangel: Ribery: I deserve to win Ballon d'Or

The winger shone as Bayern Munich won the treble in May and begun this season in blistering form, and believes his game is now a match for the world's best

Bayern Munich attacker Franck Ribery says he deserves to win this year's Ballon d'Or over fellow front-runners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Frenchman has shone in 2013 as the Bavarians completed an historic treble and have started the current campaign under new coach Pep Guardiola in blistering form.

Ribery knows he will have a tough time topping Barcelona's Messi and Real Madrid's Ronaldo, but he is confident that his improvements over the past 12 months should earn him the accolade.

"I try not to think about the Ballon d'Or," the 30-year-old told L'Equipe. "But my wife has already prepared the space above the fireplace in the living room.

"I do get a lot of belief from her and all of Bayern. I do not know if I will win, however I think I deserve it.

"Before I was a good player, now I think I'm the best."

Ribery is expected to feature in France's World Cup play-off qualifiers with Ukraine this week, starting with the away leg on Friday.

I would be happy if he wins. But why is he so desperate? He's not showing class at all. Guy, make you focus on your world cup play-off games for now. This one that your wife has already prepared a place in the parlour to keep the Ballon, please tell her to take it easy lest she gets disappointed big time!
Come on man were Ribery's quotes dated? This could have been 2-3 months ago

Johnpaul88: I too am! It's surprising he could be this objective!

As for the award, a Bayern player esp Robben should win it. He was more decisive than Ribery ever was for them last season, scoring most of the crucial goals.
Penaldo? He should go and sit down joor!

As for Messi, he remains the world best player. He'll only be leasing out this award this year. Next year, he retains his inheritance!
Robben? Don't get me wrong Robben did help us when it mattered most but up till Kroos's injury in the quarter-final last season he wasn't even a starter. Thomas Muller was more important for Bayern than Robben! Highlights would show Robben scored the winner but Ribery did set up the assist and also provided a key pass for the first goal
We are not even taking into consideration his hardwork on the left on the defensive side as well

This is mad funny yo! We all know Ibime would figure in the league next year as one of the OG's and familiar ninjas in the game but this back n forth bants is very lol-worthy

AjanleKoko: He does.
Ribery is clearly not the best player in the world, and will never be.
But then, neither was Shevchenko, and neither was Nedved, neither was Cannavaro.

I'm not in support of Messi winning it because it would seem all he has to do is play in Europe to win the award these days. He needs to be motivated to win it.
Ronaldo doesn't deserve it because he won no single individual or team award, and is not going to win any by December. So Ribery should win it, he's already set the tone by winning the Best Player in Europe Award.
So who is? I mean Messi has also won awards in years where he didn't necessarily deserve it. People tend to mistake general achievement for current form and accomplishments! The award is no one's birthright based on last season Ribery was clearly more influential than Messi and Ronaldo

Ibime: Ninjas always speculating on Ipukulu.

I didn't have time for this ish this year, just making quick transfers in couple minutes after every game week.

I've decided to spend the rest of the year travelling to different academies like Ajax, Barcelona and Dortmund to learn new coaching techniques and exchange ideas with cutting-edge thinkers in the game.

I will be back next season to reclaim my title.

2 trophies and 2 runner-up positions. Ipukulu is still ahead. Never forget that!!!
Hehehehehe oga go sleep! Even me wey accidentally take 36pt hit no commit seppuku na you come dey here dey give us format

I was being sarcastic actually but notwithstanding his comments sounded more like a plea than pointing out facts. It sounded like 'Aren't you people tired of Messi and Ronaldo'? Vote for me na, if not for anything, for the fact that I'm French. . If he wins it, no qualms, at least at 30years of age, it's probably his only shot at it.

But as a football fan, you can't possibly tell me that ribery is better than messi and ronaldo.
No its not about being tired! Its about staking his claim and he has every right to do so because he has earned it. He ought not to be punished just because he plays for a team that is a team in the real sense of the word
Someone talked about scoring 20 goals as if that's a valid criteria! All the years Zidane and Ronaldinho won WPOTY awards how many goals did they score? You mean to tell me there were not others that scored more goals? Ribery based on last season's exploits is better than Messi and Ronaldo! The award is a yearly one last time I checked

Johnpaul88: In another note, I stumbled over this article and i thought i should share it.
In as much as i hate the contents, I found some of the opinions there intriguing and difficult to shallow. But they do look like incontrovertible facts, don't they?

Happy reading!

The guy is a sensationalist jare! All this hullaballoo over an injury? Its a good article don't get me wrong but the guy added plenty pepper and salt with maggi sef

I think Messi has just suffered burnout and while its easy to give Pep and his medical team credit its important to remember ninjas like Alcantara,Schweini and Shaqiri are battling injuries at Bayern so its not like he has some kind of magic wand
Some of these analysts just chat the general and obvious things and don't think outside the box! This same analyst was whining about Alcantara's signing now Schweinsteiger is out indefinitely I wonder what he has to say for himself

prefer Messi & Ronaldo for Ballon d'Or

Na wah oh…this one wey Ribery dey beg for Ballon D'or
He wasn't begging merely pointing out a fact! Don't see anything wrong in that. I do feel he is unduly worried tho with the way he swept the Euro awards he should fancy his chances! And the bookmakers actually agree
No mind am jare. He sabi play reach CR7 left leg not to talk of Messi? Person wey no score reach 20 goals last season. Ibrahimovic sef sabi pass am yet him no shout. Make he dey happy say dem nominate am sef.
So much emphasis being made on goals! What was won with those goals? How about assists? Or do these not count! Everyone knows Ribery was the most influential player in Europe last season! He destroyed Barca and orchestrated Dortmund's downfall in the biggest game of the season while Messi,Ibra and Ronaldo were home biting their nails

If goals was all that counted then Lampard and Gerrard should be far better than Xavi and Iniesta

Ribery will win that award easily as Ronaldo's barrage of goals are simply being scored at the wrong time

Well that's a start! I also think Bayern would do well to tour other parts of the globe. Pre-season is a little too Europe-centric IMO! For instance I've worked with Lebanese niggas and I can say for a fact that they and the country as a whole are crazy about Bayern Munich and there are a lot of virgin areas that could be tapped (Pacific and South East Asia,US etc)

Looks like Al Ahly or Guangzhou Evergrande would be our opponent in the CWC semis

birdman: what does points have to do with peaking huh
You seem to be carried away by the 8-0 record and not the circumstances surrounding the wins.

They've won about half of those games without their starting PG

Came from deficits on some of these games

Inconsistent bench play

Granger is still out

And yeah not scoring up to a 100pts in 8 games is enough reason to assume they are yet to peak

kliq: Ibaka plays well defensively hence he's more effective than Harden in the team as wesbrook and Durant do the scoring.
Meanwhile Utah ended their 8 game losing streak with a defeat against the Pelicans.
Ibaka is a great shotblocker but is he a great defender I strongly doubt that

I still think Harden was picked as the fall guy from the 2012 NBA Finals! Which is quite rich cos Ibaka was even poorer and had no answer for Bosh or Lebron all series long. I'm not quite sure OKC woulda survived guys like the Spurs without Harden who can score and also dish the rock

Not sure who to pick between Portugal and Sweden on one hand there is

Ibra: Supremely talented, flat track bully, not a clutch bone in his body

Ronaldo: A phenom but also dodgy when it comes to putting on the maroon of Portugal

Sweden are winless in 7 matches against Portugal but its a disgrace that this is Portugal's 3rd straight backdoor qualification attempt. You have to wonder if the present crop of players are simply overrated as I'm yet to see anyone step up when Ronaldo is having a bad day. I still give the edge to Portugal tho as Ronaldo is the ultimate X-Factor and I can't trust Ibra to not vanish in another clutch game
