elampiro: The referee considered this dangerous to be an accident, and he gave Nani a red for an accidental collusion.
Are you guys still on this referee ish?? Let's even forget the fact that Utd have been beneficiaries of a lot of 50-50 decisions in the past can you explain why Nani was rolling on the ground like someone having a bout of girri or warapa after kicking Arbeloa in the mid-riff??
His play-acting was so bad he didn't even notice that the Arbeloa he kicked was on his feet?
If Nani didn't do that ish on purpose why was he rolling on the ground and trying to hide evidence!

I think its also laughable comparing a goalkeeper going for the ball in this case to Nani's incident

AjanleKoko: It was Pique.
Gracias! Eto'o handled the ball as well mixed the timeline up

AjanleKoko: That was an embarrassing call. I had even forgotten about that. Who gives a penalty for pushing and shoving in the box for a corner?
Still not as silly as Van Persie's red tho.

The only games I can never be sentimental about are the ones against Real Madrid. I see Jose tried to use the Pepe sending-off as a justification for what happened against United. That one was a richly deserved sending off. After that incident, Pepe has become markedly more sober when he plays Barca. No more outright animalistic behaviour. In fact now he dives whenever any Barca players goes near him, he hardly tackles! grin
I admire your honesty

Mcleo007: @A-40, Youtube is your best friend in times like this. All you have to do is type in keywords like "Abibal red card against Chelsea" or "sending off of Abidal 2009 ucl, chelsea vs barca" etc

Abidal was 2 yards away from Anelka who was put through on goal by Drogba. A yard is 36inches btw so you can see the clear picture. That was the worst call of the night and it came against a team that was thrailing by a goal. The world expected Chelsea to go through, but they were wrong. Don Iniesta did them in. cheesy The only penalty appeal that was legit was the one by Pique. Its just a little fraction of refs that would award such. A lot of them wave play on.
Abeg would you be saying this if you where a Chelsea fan? How can you even say there was only one legit call when there was at least two!!

ddippset: you just dont get it now, do you? that single event triggered all those 3 or lemme say 1 million penalty appeals. abidal nevre hacked down no anelka. anelka tangled with his own legs and dropped and the referee fell for it just because abidal was running behind him, it was a wrong call, it doesnt matter whether the referee erred or not. you need to be a little less economical with the truth. on the first point, ive seen alot of penalties given for jostles in the box..
So you are saying the ref has to justify one wrong decision by making 2 or 3 other ones just to balance the equation? Ok I hear you

How many penalties have you seen for jostles lately? That was way way back! No referee blows for petty stuff like that anymore!! If you where a Milan fan you be happy with that decision right?

ddippset: and pls speak english, quit with these yoruba exclamations
Why don't you call the cops to come and arrest me for speaking my mother tongue on a Nigerian forum

cos Liverpool is the most recent case study; an example of one that fell off and can't seem to get back up. If you are meant to bounce back you will eventually if your club is well run! Bayern,Milan have missed out on Europe Inter,Liverpool are presently doing their time (they would bounce back stronger and better than yall sef)
We are seeing Dortmund,Juve,PSG experiencing their renaissance and that's the way it goes

ddippset: BARCA VERSUS MILAN? are you for real? a soft red card you might say but what about carlos puyol's red card against arsenal at the emirates? an equally soft one. dont listen to those who might tell you that uefa have never given barca a red card, cus alot of cats out there will tell you that! trust me dogg.
A dubious red card and soft penalty to boot that was called on Nesta!! Who gives a penalty for two players shoving and jostling for the ball in the box 18? Even a chronic actor like Busquets was taken by suprise

ddippset: CHELSEA VERSUS BARCELONA - i keep telling people that the biggest decison, the major decision that night was the wrongful sending off of eric abidal in the 65th minute. that was the first wrong call made by ovrebo. playing 10 against 11 for 28 minutes triggered off those millions of penalty appeals. besides chelsea were still qualifying at 1-0. ovrebo never did them, ANDREAS INIESTA did. (abidal should never have been sent off, but the anti barca fans fail to see beyond their noses, they dont even remember that any barca player was sent off by the same ovrebo, neither do you A-40)
Ogbeni gbenu soun! Abidal was the last man and hacked Anelka so he was rightly sent off! Assuming that was even a wrong decision does that justify at least 3 legit penalty calls in the game? They even had another one where Eto'o handled the ball after Iniesta's goal
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 11:32pm On Mar 06, 2013
dayokanu: If you are down by a goal in the knockout phase Most coaches would sacrifice a defender for an attacker at that point.

Add that your opponent's offensive player bags a red card, That means you have an extra defender Surplus

You have a defender who has a Yellow card already and is another foul from being shown out

I tell you 80% of coaches would have done the same brought in an offensive player to dominate the game more or brought in a striker

Even Wenger would have done the same
I know that but its one thing to know what to do and its another thing to pull it off! Don't forget Mourinho has also been on the flipside of this scenario when Inter faced Barca some seasons back in the semis where Thiago Motta got sent off and he essentially played 2 banks of four and the Inter players more or less did not cross their own half
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by A40(m): 11:25pm On Mar 06, 2013
What is the big deal if you miss the UCL for a season or two? For starters no one would notice Arsenal's absence grin grin
Secondly bigger clubs have missed the competition and returned eventually
Milan,Bayern,Liverpool,Barca,Ajax,Juve,Dortmund have all missed the UCL but they eventually retool and come back stronger! You guys are not even genuine contenders and have never been at any point in time. Qualifying 100 times in a row would not make you a big club if you don't win it eventually so why not stoop to conquer?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by A40(m): 11:14pm On Mar 06, 2013
ddippset: van persie kicked the ball away and got only a second yellow which the ref deemed to be time wasting. and how this is so embarassing to you, it beats my imagination! and then you said 'barca's controversies' pls name 2 or 3 for us!!! for each one you name, i give you one which was called against us.
Barca vs Milan (last season)
Chelsea vs Barca (Ovrebo incident)

dayokanu: Bringing in Modric for Arbeloa was a No brainer and people are like its a touch of genius

1. Nani the Left winger has been sent off So no threat to Arbeloa again

2. Arbeloa was the person involved so would be targetted by Man Utd players to get him out too

3. Arbeloa was already on a Yellow card and any more infringement is a red.

It was an easy no brainer.

If Modric didnt score I was already seeing a benzema for Khedira or Alonso sub Its what 80% of good coaches would have done.

Fergie made Mourinho look better than he was. Look at him walking away to the dressing room while the game was still on.

The guy likes attention sha. I hope Bayern meets Madrid next round and bring him to his knees again

https://www.ronaldo7.net/gallery/game/25_04_2012/ronaldo31.jpg
Its not everybody that woulda capitalized on such a situation plus a red card doesn't always translate into goals give the devil his due
I do agree that Fergie was a tad 'naïve' with his tactics after Nani got sent off! A red card is enough to force a tactical switch anytime any day but with Mourinho on the other side it becomes a necessity

JeSoul: Superman - with a cunning brain cheesy. Seriously, we all know he doesn't have the killer/dominate every game instinct so why should he pretend otherwise? I don't think he has much to play for in LA so why bother exerting himself for little to no returns? who be mugu? cheesy grin
He would make the most money in LA! No basketballer worth his salt would not want to play for the Lakers cos they are always in the mix or thereabout year in year out! He's a phony Superman if he's not up to the LA challenge

Afam4eva: Apart from Andre Iguodala who doesn't even identify as a Nigerian, others are not really prominent. I followed Emeka Okafors career from his days at Charlotte bobcats but his team never made it to the playoffs(i hope that's what it's called). Even now that he's in New orleans, i've not really seen his team.

What about Kelenna Azubuike? is he still there?
Well Olajuwon is the only prominent Nigerian that has been in the league more or less
Okafor was never really a star! Won a college championship but that's about it!
There are more Nigerians in the NFL

Cristalz: Because Rooney and Anderson are what, Batman and friggin' Robin??
The red broke spirits, which is what happens when you get an unfair decision like that. Not much Rooney and Ando can do about that.

Giggs did nothing wrong on the night. Twaz Van Persie that shoulda gone off for Rooney 'cos he seems to have lost his mojo.

IMO, the team played cautiously which wasn't so bad because the strategy was working till the idiotic ref messed it all up.
Whoz to say we wouldn't have scored more with the players that started? We had RMD quiet. Ronaldo was lost at a point. It was a slow build, but it sure pointed to it.

Not bad from team United.

I don't think the Lakers would catch the Rockets I do think they would make the playoffs though either at the expense of the Warriors or the Jazz. The Rockets have too much firepower on offense not to get those W's

The Heat where lucky yesterday IMO the Knicks outrebounded them and pounded them in the paint they just didn't make their size advantage count! They mean business tho but in a 7 game series I still think the Knicks and especially the Pacers stand a fighting chance
