You're pretty right but most pple that rent car do not have car(personal view). Using limo for a wedding is alright if u have d doo but some pple go to d extent of borrowing money before they can settle down. I can't get married and start settling debt. Never !

Here is what you should do:

Try and get the following items; ashes(eru), NCO and salt. The amount of ashes and salt to get depends on how big your pond is. NB: u can get d ashes from any bakery in ur area.

Mix the three stuff (ashes, NCO & Salt) together.


Drain all the water in the pond with the help of a water pumping machine.


Sprinkle d stuff into d pond, do make sure u make it go round insuch away that it will be even.


Leave it for a while for example u can do it in the morning around 8am and go back there in the evening around 5PM to allow water to enter into ur pond.


Lastly and the most important part, do not feed them for two days. You can feed 'em the third day.


Please try d above method and let me know how it goes on Friday.

Also, let me know d size of ur pond so that I can tell you how many Kilo of salt to get.

I'm not boasting about being any kind of graduate. You said I didn't know what formulation was. That response was to school you. And again you missed the point being; Not everybody on nl are green, not everyone on nl are in this to charge people. Some do it because it feels good to assist others.

Do you know there groups on yahoo and blackberry on catfish farming? Do you think they'll admit you into any when you shoot down first, make no alternative suggestions and insist on remaining on the forum?

If you had any meaningful contribution you would have added it immediately you shot down the author. That's what a few before you did. They added value!

You're just an arm chair critic. People who critisise others without having any meaningful solution to a situation.

After this, I'll start making my own contributions as many others have been doing. You're nothing but a distraction.

None is an island of knowlegde if u must know. I've since put d formula that I used in my farm on my previous post. I am willing to assist in anyway I could without charging any1 4 my knowledge. I am planning of creating a new topic to teach people how to construct earthen pond and how to rear fish from fingerlins to table size but for now I am pretty busy in the farm as I am presently constructing two earthen ponds. As regards the use of maggot, how many of it can one create to feed 3000 fish? Also, blood meal is another ingredient that is good to enchance growth of fish.

Meanwhile, go and check: the effect of partial or total replacement of fishmeal with maggot meal in the diet of oreochromis niloticus (fashina-bombata and balogun O.). That was a publication made in the nineties quoted severally by many other researchers.

So you see oga chest pounder, I did an experiment with maggotmeal in 1994. I only got on this forum because the author had an angle I didn't think was possible. Several people like you came pounding on the guy and didn't allow him land. Their loss because those that asked nicely got the formulation through e-mail (I guess you'll now cry foul)

You're here bragging as if u have achieved a fit that no 1 has. I've taught SMS 101, FSS 101, ECO 205, ECO 305 free of charge for my course mates during my days in the University. I don't need to brag that I am dis and dat on here but what will be will surely be. There is no specific time to change from 2mm to 3mm however the size of ur fish will determine when to do so. Watch their mouth closely and Ơ̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴͡ if they can pick 3mm. Cheers

For record purpose, I change to local feeds after one and half month and here is my local feed formula (starter); Fish meal 25, Toated Soya 25, GNC 25 WO 10, Indomie 10, Molasis 10, Bone 5, Oxy 0.1, B/Vit 1kilo, Salt 2 Molasis 8 VitC 200grams. That's the formaula that I used for my fishes that are in eathern pond but I increased the FM to 30 in a concrete pond. If I don't get to but B/vit, I normally use Premix 0.5, Lysine 0.5, Methionie 0.1 .

From the write up of others on this thread, you should be able to tell the farmers from the info seekers. And then there are rovers.

The person whose write up you shot down has helped people on this thread to set up ponds and has given a few thomases his formulation.

Rather than critisize, seek for ways to lower your cost and maximise your profit. It is in bad taste to read one part of a thread and then draw conclusions and make pronouncements based solely on your own findings. What makes you think your way is the best practice.

If they had told the white man that leaves and tree barks could cure malaria he probably would've scoffed at the idea as you did to the findings of the author of this thread.

If you take the time to read through this thread you'll see that others before you have critisized this write up more than you have. Some among them have later added value after getting the formulation.

If you have value to add do so. This forum is not for chest thumping. It is to help each other.

Is it by selling formula that means helping a lot of people. Are u his agent or what? If u don't ve any better thing to say, then I will advise u to kip quite.

The logical thing to do before commenting on any thread is to read other people's comments and updates.
You're one of those people roving from one thread or the other shooting down other people, raising false alarms and not adding any value to any thread.

I am not the type that rove on other pple's thread without really knowing what I am talking about. My track record on nl is enough reason for u to understand where I am coming from. At d moment, I am rearing 13,000 pieces of fishes both on concrete and earthen pond. I'll use a pond to explain a little about catfish business 2 U. Sept 1st, 2012 I stocked 3300 pieces of catfish(fingerlins) however it is a rule that on 1000 pieces you will be given an additonal 100 pieces of fish on it thus I was given 3300 pieces. Please note that I paid 21000 naira at the rate of 7 naira per fingerlins. I've so far spent 42000 naira on imported feeds also know as floating feeds(coppens). Note that coppens is still the best feed as you will get the desire result u want in rearing fishes although there are other floating feeds like Durante, vital feed, muiltifeed etc but none is better than coppens. After the floating feeds, I had to change to local feeds considering the fact that the fishes have matured and also to add drugs like Nco and oxy to feeds to avoid any possible sickness. So far I have made 500 kg worth of local feeds @ the rate of 108,887 naira and they are yet to reach three month but they will be 3 mnths on the 1st of December. Estimated date of selling is Jan 15 by then they will be 18 months. And I've budgeted an additional 150K for their feeds before then. If u've any question, don't hesitate to spill it.

Local government are nothing but an avenue to loot funds. The main problem is that it is the state governor that appoints the chairmen and/or chairperson as the case maybe and they influence their allocation greatly, what I am saying in essence is that federal allocation for local govt are paid into the state account for distribution. Thus, state govt gives d local govt a little fraction of the allocation eg Ijebu north LG receives N23M only from the ogun state gov as against N120 which they ought to receive as allocation and the LG is owing N20M debt, such local govt cannot bring d dividend of democracy closer to d people. I'♏ sincere sorry for this nation
