European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: It's Chelsea vs. Barcelona Again by ababoy1(m): 11:18pm On Feb 22, 2006 |
Playing with 10 men is no excuse, Teams have won games with 10 men, After Robben Hood's theatrics that got the Liverpool Keeper sent off, the sending off couldn’t have happened to a nicer team. At one point I had to switch over to watch Juventus, cos Chelski didn’t come to play football….more like Rugby if you ask me… In a nutshell, the better side one… Jose is on TV let me hear his excuses… |

Politics / Re: 16 Killed In Nigerian Cartoons Riots by ababoy1(m): 12:53pm On Feb 20, 2006 |
To advance a balanced discussion, why cant we have the cartoons in question posted here? How can we squabble about something that most of us haven’t seen? I call on my Muslim friends to post the cartoons in question, and make clear to us why they are deeply insulted. I will also expect the non-Muslims in our midst to tell us why they (the Muslims) shouldn’t be. |
Music/Radio / Re: Keke Ogungbe: Of Kennis Music And Primetime Africa Fame by ababoy1(m): 7:35pm On Feb 18, 2006 |
Let me make this obvious, I don’t detest these guys. I have no reason to. I saw these ‘gentlemen’ for the first time on BEN TV on Thursday. The instant sway I had from the interviewer was that these guys were the LA Reid & Baby face, the Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis of the Nigeria music scene. So I naturally became interested. I will keep this simple; they came across very inadequately, and couldn’t express themselves clearly. They also seemed to be spoiling for a fight with those who they asserted didn’t like them. I came away none the wiser, but eager for someone to tell me that these ‘gents’ were not the best Nigeria had to offer. Are they? |

Oil Workers Kidnapped In Nigeria Saturday, 18 February 2006, 09:43 GMT Nine foreign oil workers have been seized by armed militants from a barge in Nigeria's Niger Delta. The group, including three Americans, two Thais, two Egyptians, a Briton and a Filipino, were on a pipelaying barge. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4726680.stm |

I hope Barca wipes the floor with Chelsea on Wednesday, some of my contemporaries at work will be at the match and I can’t wait to lay into them on Thursday morning. As an Arsenal supporter it hasn’t been easy working with them, |

Are these the same guys on BEN TV? If they are and I have only seen them twice - I will hold back my observations. But if you say they have brought a lot to the entertainment industry in Nigeria then yes they deserve a mention. |

@luciengrey I read it all and you are spot on - assuming there is anyone barmy enough to put both side by side. Still there are those that will think you are talking rubbish The truth in what you say is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is. |

Politics / Sa's Mbeki Rules Out Third Term by ababoy1(m): 1:05pm On Feb 06, 2006 |
South African President Thabo Mbeki has ruled out staying in his post beyond the end of his second term in 2009. He said the governing ANC would not to use its two-thirds parliamentary majority to change the constitution to allow a third presidential term. Formerly deputy president, Mr Mbeki succeeded Nelson Mandela as president in 1999 and was re-elected in 2004. Some ANC supporters have called for a debate on a constitutional change, promting speculation over a third term. But in an interview with South African television, Mr Mbeki moved to crush such speculation....................... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4684752.stm |
