ChukwuCantDie:Nigerians are so emotional and will always shy away from the truth, that is what is killing us in this country. So because DSTV is not a Nigerian company then we must sleigh them? When HITV was available we all knew the terrible service they offered, we still patronized them until they folded up... Is that dstv's fault? Dude, Nigerian or not, u can't shy away from the truth. It is left for us to work hard and create a service that will be in the same standard to that foreign company that we so much hate. Until then, DSTV will still rule. Of u can't afford DSTV premium then pay for family. If u still want afford family then buy gotv, it is still owned by multichoice. If u can't afford neither then work harder. Or go and hang urself. From what u wrote it is very obvious who is sick in the head here. |
mikepeace:Does daarsat and other cable tvs charge with pay as u view? Let those ones do it first before attacking DSTV. Moreover I don't even see any problem here, multichoice is a private company, if u feel their services is too expensive, look elsewhere. Its as simple as that. This is not a basic amenity that the govt subsidies for citizens. Na person wey don chop dey think of cable tv, this is not petrol where people can go on strike when the price is too high. |
gencyl:DSTV are not stopping any other companies from the cable tv market. Cable tv is not cheap anywhere in the world. U choose the one u can afford, if u want pvr, then u pay for it. U can't afford it, but gotv. Its as simple as that. |
firstolalekan:U just said what's on my mind. Multichoice has subscription of 1,500 and they have they have the one for N11,000. It is left for consumers to choose the one they can afford. They have decoders of N7,000 and they have one for N65,000. Cable tv don't come cheap even in advanced countries, it all depends on quality of service and programmes. U can't expect to watch quality programmes in HD and pay peanuts. LG has LED TV of N25,000 and they also have TV of 3 million naira. Let them bring the competition, it is good for cosumers. We all know what happened to HITV. DSTV is still the most complete cable tv we have in Nigeria, so I don't see the reason to blame them for improving their services for additional fees. |
honourhim:U are so on point. There are thousands of religions in the world, I have been to a few places and I can tell u it is never done like this. The Hindus, Buddhist, etc don't use their religion to disturb others, they say their prayers without The next person hearing then. Why then are Christians, especially in Nigeria different? The Moslems is even fairer because their own is early in the morning for a few minutes and it is not that loud. Chritisns is every night when someone is trying to sleep. |
In the U.S. the first thing a cop asks u when stopeed are 'licence and registration please'. |
Biggyd2:Bros, if na sango or amadioha person dey worship every night like that with loud microphone I'm sure they neighborhood will not sleep. In fact it won't take long for them to have a meeting on how to put an end to it. Why then are Christians not putting others into consideration. |
GAZZUZZ:Join them ke? Even God created day and night, He knows we are supposed to sleep at night so we can get revitalised For the next day. |
First of all, before people start attacking me, I am a christian and I'm not here to discriminate anybody. For a long time now I hardly sleep at night because of one prayer or the other from the different churches in my neighbourhood. Yes, there are about 11 churches in my street alone. . Anyway, there is this particular church that normally have program every night (seriously every night) and they have this really loud microphone. My sleep is so much dosturbed that I hardly get 2 hours of sleep because of their noise,. U can imagine when u are trying to sleep and what u keep hearing is DIE DIE DEI DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE from ur sleep. Its like everything about that church is DIE DIE DIE. Tell me how can someone sleep. I have thought about making a complaint to the community or local govt, but I'm afraid they might call me a sadist. But truth be told, this shouldn't be happening in a residential area. I thought we are battling a spiritual battle, so why can't they pray silently, or shout they want without using microphone (I'm sure everyone inside the church will hear even if they don't use microphone). Most of the people in that church don't have a work they are going in the morning so why disturb those that have work? Everyone has a freedom of religion, be it christian, Islam, traditional or even occult. So my question is this, let's say I am a traditionist, and every night me and my occult crew do our things and make noise every night with loud microphone worshipping our idols doing ERIWO YAAAA. AYA GBO, AYA TO, every night... What will people say? I'm sure they would call the police to get me arrested. The irony here is white men brought religion into this country, but in their country u will never find churches disturbing the peace of neighbours in the night. So how come na we come carry am for head.? If u try this in the UK or the U.S. the neighbours would call the police and the church will be shut down if they don't take to correction. So I am calling the religion experts. What do u think about this. Should I keep suffering and get woken up every night by sound of DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE, or what advice would u give me? Is it right for churches to disturb the peace of a neighbouhood? If that was a shrine what would u guys say? |
Horus:If this is the same thing as the one sold in Nigeria then its a definite GO. Bluetooth, usb, aux jack, rear ac vent, steering controls, dedicated buttons for phone.. I mean this is full option. But I doubt if the one sold here will come with these options, we normally get the trimmed down models. |
There are people looking for the manual of that accord. Sell it and buy an automatic. |
buskie13:Because in the last decade French speaking nations have produced better players than the English speaking competitors. Should we then ignore a deserving player and give it to an undeserved player? The same way lots of Nigerians were saying Mikel should have won the African player of the year 2013 when it was very very obvious Yaya Toure is a better deserving player. 2011-2013: Yaya Toure 2010: Samuel Eto'o against Asamoah Gyan 2009: Didier Drogba against Samuel Eto'o 2008: Emmanuel Adebayor against Aboutrika 2007: Frederick kanoute against Michael Esssien 2006: Didier Drogba against Samuel Eto'o 2005: Samuel Eto'o against Didier Drogba 2004: Samuel Eto'o against Didier Drogba 2003: Didier Drogba against Jay Jay Okocha It is very obvious French speaking nations have produced better players in the last decade. Between 1992 and 1999, this award was won by only English speaking players (except Mustapha Hadji who won it in 1998) but nobody said it was partiality. |
buskie13:Because French speaking nations have produced better players than english speaking nations. The Samuel etoos, Didier drogba, Freddie kanoute, Patrick mboma, etc . don't forget George weah, rashidi yekini, kanu nwankwo, abedi pele, Victor ikpeba were from english speaking countries so what are we saying? |
otipoju:Football is not just a game of skills, if it is then Okocha would have been the greatest player ever. Anybody remember Denilson of Brazil? Football is more of a team game than just raw skills. This is the reason why players like David Beckham and Paul Scholes (2 players who cannot dribble one player one on one) are highly rated than Okocha who can dribble the whole team. David Beckham has no dribbling skills, but there are 10 more players he can pass the ball to when he has the ball.. that is what makes him a better player. Ability to make the right decision at the right time to help his team. |
ROSSIKE:Dude, the Turkish league was and is still a very lowly rated league compared to Spain, England, Germany, Italy and even France. Okocha was playing a 'show off' kind of game when he was at Fernabache. When he came to Bolton he became more matured and played with his teammates more often than he ever did, but it was already too late. I still repeat if Okocha was that good big clubs would have come for him. |
LORDI:Do u have to bring tribalism into this? Yekini= Yoruba, Mutiu adepoju= Yoruba, Tijani babangida = Hausa. It is a team game. |
ROSSIKE:Fernabache? Is that a club in Turkey? Anyway I dont understand what u meant by the goals started flowing when he went to BOLTON. He scored 14 goals in 106 appearances for BOLTON. I know his job was not to score goals but how many did he really create? And 14 goals in 106 appearances is not good enough for an attacking midfielder. Also don't forget Okocha played some of the best games of his career when he joined bolton, he became more serious but then it was too late as age had caught up with him. If he had been more serious in his youth he would definitely have played for the bigger clubs. |
MrPresident1:Dont be deceived bro. As a Nigerian it is normal to add sentiments, but let's be real, Jay jay was great but did he really do his job well in the midfield? Primarily the first thing that comes to Jay jay's mind when he gets the ball is 'SHOW OFF'. Passing the ball is secondary. As a deep playmaker, sometimes his teammates make the run but Okocha was busy showing off his skills. Yes he got amazing skills no doubt, but so was denilson of Brazil. This is the main reason big clubs never came for him, they saw him as an unserious player, not very effective . Very good to get the crowd excited, but terrible in helping his team get a result. |
sukkot:Very correct. The most exciting player to watch out of Africa, but definitely not The most effective, and definitely not the most exciting to watch in the rest of the world. Ronaldinho, messi, ronaldo, Roberto baggio, rivaldo, etc are also exciting to watch but they surpass Okocha because they are also effective. |
IyfeNamikaze:Shearer was not overhyped, neither was he underrated. He was just shearer and his 34 goals helped Blackburn rovers win the premier league in 1995. Till date he is still the premier league all time top scorer. He helped Newcastle United and they came very close to winning the premier league. His records speak for himself, he was never overrated. |
lurdabdaniels:Lol, very very funny. Abeg make I ask u, can a player go to barca, real Madrid or Manchester United on their own without the clubs showing interest and subsequently making a bid? Look at the way u put it as if those clubs made a move for Okocha but he chose to go to Turkey. Lets stop being too sentimental, if he was that good those clubs will break the bank to sign him. |
Okocha was a great player, no disputing that. But he was never in the league of George weah, abedi pele, kanu nwankwo, Samuel etoo, Didier drogba, or even Victor ikpeba and Freddie kanoute. These are players that played at the highest level and won things for their teams. Okocha is still probably one of the best dribblers the world have seen, but he was more of a show off than actually helping his team to glory. I know some will say Cristiano ronaldo also shows off, but cr7 has his goals and honors to back that up. Okocha was seen as the world's biggest teams as an unserious player, that is why no big team came for him. The humiliation of Oliver Khan and 3 defenders was absolutely unnecessary. Trust me if he was that good then the biggest teams would break the bank to sign him. Okocha only got serious in his twilight age when he joined bolton, but then it was already too late. Great player no doubt, but still not in the league of kanu nwankwo. |
Both of them are overrated. |
ROSSIKE:That is what u call accolade? Seriously? Mario zagalo giving okocha a handshake after a match is what u call accolade? When people like kanu, etoo, drogba, George weah and even Freddie kanoute were winning something tangible with their teams. Well if that is what u call accolade then I guess the truth speaks for itself. |
chillex8:I didn't see any Kia rio in all Brand new cars u listed. U said u bought a brand new 2007 accord and the bonnet has not been opened. That is 7 years now, so if a 7 years old car is still serving u well then what is wrong in buying a used 2007 solid car that was well maintained by the owner. Or did u forget that a tokunbo car was also bought brand new by the initial owner? A brand new Kia rio will not last 5 years and keep its shape, I can bet on that. This is why it is good to buy a clean title car when buying a used car. The problem nigerians have is they buy salvaged cars. If Mr A bought his 2007 camry for 1.8 million, and Mr B goes to the market to buy his and dealer tells him 2.5 million he will think he's being cheated, and run to buy a salvaged one for 1.8 million. The price of used cars are not constant. It depends on mileage, how clean it is and carfax record. It is good to buy a car with good carfax record regardless of price. Nothing beats a brand new car, but in case of a new Kia rio and used Lexus rx330, it's the Lexus all the way. |
Okocha was a very talented and skillful player, one of the best the world has seen. But he was never taken too seriously because he himself didn't take football too seriously until his twilight years when he joined bolton. Imagine the disgrace of Oliver Khan and 4 defenders when he could have easily scored, he chose to dribble back and forth. Yes he eventually scored but that shows unseriouslness. Jay jay in his prime chose to entertain than do something positive to help his team win. This is one of the reasons no big club came for him, and this is the reason he wasn't there among African greats like abedi pele, Samuel etoo, George weah, kanu nwankwo. Etc. |
otipoju:U should already know here on nairaland some people argue without solid facts, their only weapon is to curse. You have made ur points and the reasonable ones here fully understand and agree with u. |
buskie13:I guess Victor ikpeba, rashidi yekini, kanu nwankwo and George weah are also French. |
ndidibabe:So good and they named him twice.... Playing for BOLTON WANDERERS. Trust me if he was that good then the world's big clubs would tussle for his signature. Great entertainer though, but not in the league of kanu nwankwo, Samuel etoo, George weah. |
darealez:I can't make sense out of the sh-it u wrote. |
chillex8:Of course I know it is between a brand new KIA Rio and a 2003 Lexus rx300. Since u still think nothing beats a brand new car, so would u buy a brand new smart fortwo over a 2003 Honda accord just because u want a brand new car?

;They won't do anything about it because, many of their voters come from there and they don't want many of the hypocrites in those religious organisations to 'deal' with them. Remember that in Lagos, for instance, BRF brought out a law against noise pollution. I heard he used it at the earlier stage. If the law is still in enforce, how come the noise from these places are on the increase in that State?
. The salvation of this country will come from the super cleansing of our religious organisations and the hearts of their members.
